    In one of your previous videos you mentioned that events often take away from the time spent meeting other needs, and I really ran with that concept. Basically I don't hold any events, and my happiness does just fine. Since I don't hold events, and tend to ignore the goals of my students, I haven't built an SU since either.
    I'm really enjoying TPC but as I've experimented from your videos I've come to realize that so many things are completely optional. The part of me who doesn't like parties is happy about it, but the part who wanted a bit more complexity in meeting the goals of the game hopes they patch in a bit more relevance to events overall.

    I was waiting for a vid of the student union. I made mine as small as I could but I guess its kind of a waste to have jasmine odyssey come and only 8 students see her

    You're right. At this size it's super effective when the campus is still young but it's still expensive. I've only built student unions if the game forces my hand or I have the money for it and need to level up the campus. I do like this size and I will try it for sure. Will keep you posted on the results 😁🤗

    I like to make a separate building with extra space for a small lobby in the entrance for a bathroom, arcade machines and vending machines... sometimes also a small staff room with a second door that leads to a single stall bathroom then i set the two bathrooms to student only and staff only.

    Personally, I take a slightly different approach to the Student Union. This is where I put the arcade machines instead of the Lounge. The reason is because I see the Lounge as a small but cheap room I can spam all over the place, while the Union is a big and expensive room that I'll only have one or two of even by late game, so I place the more expensive objects there. And because so many of the objects I place in the Student Union have such high prestige (such as Crazy Taxi), the prestige of the room is always at least 13, and I occasionally get it to 14. It really is the room where you go big or go home.

      The only issue with that, IMHO, is that arcade machines can be placed in the hallways. A student in a student union (or lounge) playing an arcade machine is using up that room's capacity. That same student playing that same arcade machine in the hallway is getting just as much entertainment, but without taking up space in a limited-capacity room. As such, I prefer to utilize objects that are unique to those rooms. You can't build a dance floor or a 2 player arcade machine in a hallway, so you may as well build those objects in the rooms that can house them, especially since many of those objects are the subjects of student requests.

      @@Pinstar That's a fair point, and I fully agree that items that can't be placed in the hallway should be the priority. That said, it seems such a waste to me to have items that boost the room prestige as much as the Test Your Strength machine and Crazy Taxi do and not place them in any rooms. So for me, the best place to use them is the Student Union. I could use them in the Lounge as well, but the extra expense largely defeats the reason I use the Lounge.

    Great video, I'm playing in sandbox mode so I got plenty of space and money. I think I might turn a whole plot section into just a student union and see how that works.

    Great video as always! I ended up needing to place enough decorative items to turn the entire room solid green for attractiveness that I ended up turning the level up all the way to 11.

    How do new higher-level teachers affect class timetables? Does the game automatically cycle assigned classes between best-fits in the teacher pool?

    • @Pinstar
      @Pinstar  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know the game will assign a class to a free teacher if there is one, but I don't know if it is clever enough to always pick the most skilled teacher.
      When I'm done chain-training a teacher I will find the next teacher of that subject and either start training them (if I need more skilled teachers) or fire them (If this was the last teacher I needed). Either way, the newly trained teacher will take over whatever classes the old one had.

    I need help. I'm at TPU and I have most courses running but I'm capped at student exceeding capacity I keep adding more dorms but nothing is helping. Could you point out what I'm doing wrong here. I've googled just not getting answers.

    • @Pinstar
      @Pinstar  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've heard that buying more lots (even if you don't use them) can raise your student cap. I have NOT tested this theory yet, so don't take that as formal advice, but might be worth a shot.

    • @MainerdLoyd
      @MainerdLoyd 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do you have your courses maxed out? That was the only way I found to increase student numbers. I haven't looked into the recruitment room yet but I think that just increases the quality of your students and not the numbers.

    • @nategar412
      @nategar412 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MainerdLoyd marketing increases the applicants. As far as I know, your only limit to how many applicants you can accept is capacity. If you intentionally decrease the number of applicants that you accept even though you have the capacity they will have an increased learning rate. Essentially, you're being more selective about who you accept, so who you do accept will be smarter.
      Tuition rates can be adjusted, which can also have an impact on the number of applicants. It also impacts student happiness.

      I finally found the answer and thank you all I kept each course at 8 students and forgot to level up the courses. Which does raise the student capacity by increasing the university level. I should have known that bit. Thank you all.

      Doesn't strike me as silly. So is student capacity determined by course level? Are there any other factors?

    I love this channel and the room builds but I'm like half way through the video and cost is ramping $70k already, am I able to use this build efficiently for the Upper Etching campus or should I make a cheaper one?
