    One comment would be: put benches down as well. To socialise while waiting to see the medical or pastoral staff

      That's what the watercooler is for. He did tell someone else that if they wanted to put a larger priority on relationship building while they're in the queue then you could swap out a few items to get a bench and loveseat. But he feels they're better placed outdoors for the health benefit.

    Pinstar, just wanted you to know that, with hesitation, I stopped adding medical and pastoral rooms and have had absolutely zero problems. Sure, I get the occasional request to build each, but I simply dismiss them. Even the students labelled with those problems still graduate with 95-99 A+ grades. So no repercussions and no negative effects from those students. Excellent tip, and thank you!!!

    Nowadays I always dedicate one building to be for residential purposes. I place all of my necessary dorm rooms as close to the main entrance as I can while still allowing space for other rooms. I then place a restroom, shower, student lounge, and cafeteria roughly arranged in a circle. I then finish out the circle with a medical and pastoral room. This way they'll be relatively close to everything they could possibly need while they wait their turn.

    I think that the desk and cabinets often hurt Medical Office time as the assistant is often ‘distracted’ by the animations associated with them. For example in Spiffinmore, I watched one of my medical rooms after an attack. A pumpkin-head student entered the medical room and stood at the medical machine. Meanwhile, the assistant finished their computer animation, went to a medicine cabinet and played around with the vials, went to a second cabinet and played around with the vials, THEN went and turned the machine on. All while the line outside was just getting longer.
    This probably was a fluke, but I’ve still removed all the ‘distracting’ furniture from all future medical rooms.

    Good to see you don't need to go wild with setting up your care rooms. Minimum size and just make sure there's stuff for needs nearby.

    My question would be are they now worth the extra staff cost? Besides happier students, I found I was making more profit with the best med/past office is no med/past office approach.

      That's an excellent point, particularly if you're on a campus which wants you to meet a particular profit goal.

    Great video! Does the viability of Pastoral to remove Daydreaming have any impact on your opinion of the Power Walking Club?

    • @Pinstar
      @Pinstar  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't like the random energy drain still. Even if fixing day dreaming doesn't involve putting the student into a happiness death spiral, the fact that they have to queue up is still unoptimal. While they can take care of their needs, they could be using that time to do assignments to boost their grade or dancing around club objects to boost their club level.
      My opinion on the walking club is unchanged.
      I think the one change that would get me to re-evaluate that club vs the napping club is if they ever changed the booking it behavior, where students who are running late for class go into a full sprint regardless of what club they belong to. If they changed or removed that, and made the sprint benefit of the club trigger only when it was relevant (like needing to walk all the way across campus to get to their next class) then that could bring the walking club up into line with the others.

    Will students use the Lounge when they waitting?

    • @Pinstar
      @Pinstar  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I didn't explicitly test that, though I did observe (as you saw in the cold open) a student using the dorm to take a nap while in the queue, so being in the queue does not prevent them from using other rooms. Being adjacent to a lounge or union would achieve a similar effect, certainly.

  • @jakestrauss2776
    @jakestrauss2776 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Seems to be the best way to get the rest need up other than the nap club up is to plan your entire school with your dorms in the middle.
    I'm just curious pinstar, how effective are benches and chairs for restoring energy? not sure if you noticed anything from them or not.

    • @Pinstar
      @Pinstar  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Benches don't seem to restore energy, but are more used to build friendships. They are useful in that a student's social life contributes to their overall happiness rating, but I feel they are better placed outdoors. That way students can top off their health levels while also gaining the long term benefits of improved relationships. Social interaction is one of the reasons I placed the water cooler. But you could easily swap out a few items to get a bench and love seat if you wanted to prioritize relationship building.

    • @jakestrauss2776

      @@Pinstar Ah that is unfortunate. Maybe two point will add some items in the future that might help with energy a little bit.

    • @Pinstar
      @Pinstar  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Didi-tn7ke Nope. The Coffee hut gives energy. Pulpitation only gives temporary walking speed increase.
