    In this episode of #TheDailyDoug, I'm reacting to the speed metal band DragonForce playing their most known song Through The Fire And Flames. I was impressed with their technical ability...but I wasn't a huge fan of the song. Do you agree or disagree?

    This is the short version. In the full version there's a lot more of the awesome guitar soloing and a vocal bridge between the last major solo and the 3rd chorus. But it's cool if you didn't like it; DragonForce is very simple compositionally and just banks on the insane speed and skill. Don't let this band make you give up on power metal, though. There's a lot of cool stuff out there.

    Dragonforce is my all time favorite band and I'm so thrilled with your reaction to them despite them not winning you over lol. The fact that the first note blew you back into your seat was priceless and was indeed the song's intension. For anyone who has a background in speed, death, trash metal and so forth, but also has an affinity for melody and musical prowess, Dragonforce is the band for you. If you can get used to their speed and ridiculousness, you'll find a fantastic use of melody, harmony, and musical intellect. They are simply amazing at what they do.

    • @dutchraider2
      @dutchraider2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea it takes a little bit of getting used to, but I think dragonforce is actually one of those few bands that actually gets better the more you listen to them. I personally couldn't stand the high pitch voice at first but eventually I got used to it and now I actually like it (because honostly, for power metal bands this isn't even that high, considering...). Nowadays I can definitely listen to dragonforce while laying in bed and listen to the adventure that their music tries to convey through the complexity of their music. I simply couldn't care less if people call this 'too simple' because either it's not for me, or my brain can neatly fill in the gaps I need it to.
      Too bad that's not for everyone who listens to this :D. Their loss for missing out hehe. But to each their own taste. Everyone should definitely find a band or songs that they can also dream away on. It's an experience only music can bring you.
