this my experience with VW engines, i went from 1600 to 1914 then 2180 to a 2387. but with transition i went from stock to Rancho shorten 3rd and 4th gears. i have by far spent the most money on my VW, lost countless GF over my Bug.. lol
Yeah man it is a very expensive addiction and yes I also stepped up gradually from since high school and in this blue car it’s had 15 engines

Sounded like you were kissing 7 on the second gear.....Better have some pistons in that sucker. JE or wiseco. the others wont like that for very long. The pins separate and it wont be a good day for the rest of the engine. But it sounds great when its up there.

Do you lose any reliability going bigger displacement? Will it run hotter?
It's not bad at all they only run hot if they are built wrong it's only a .010 shim on each side than from when it was a 2332 so not much wider
There is no replacement for VW displacement.

It's a whole lots of really nice engineering from Shawn Geers its flat tapped 044 heads 48 IDA 44 venturi flanged and solid as it can get.

@@tooge47 these engines are 100% custom built everything is machined the case needs to be bored decked clearanced for stroker the heads have to be board everything needs to be honed fitted machined trimmed cut
We will see how it will last
Been doing this 240+hp thing for years with yearly maintenance parts come out bad ass everything gets bore gauged and measured to perfection and has a 500$ oil pump that seems to keep everything in good shape
Instead of all the hashtags maybe post specs like heads, cam and carbs...
Not giving up specs other than 48 IDAs heads up racing combo for Real Street class.

2386 is just disappointing. My 2276 pulls harder. Come to a Alaska and sure I’d spank your. I built mine though. Didn’t hire gemvw (who builds garbage) build mine... the thing everyone is impressed with yours is the sound of the carbs.
