    It sounds like something taken directly from the pages of Harry Potter-truth serum, or drugs that “make people tell the truth.” Somewhat recently a U.S. judge approved the use of truth serum on James Holmes, the accused Aurora, Colorado “Batman” shooter. So clearly truth serums do exist right? Well, in short- yes… and no.

    I can relate. After getting gas at the dentist i admitted to my cousins small children that i was the mastermind behind some big crimes . None of which was true. Also i pet a cat for a while, that wasn't there.

    If you've not already covered it (I haven't seen the video yet on your upload list), I would really like to see a cover on MDMA, both as a "truth serum" and as it is used to manufacture Ecstacy. I've heard and read mixed histories on it and would like to know how it truly affect's one's mind and how it was originally used.

      One does tend to feel close to others and more willing to give private information to others. You feel as tho you can trust someone more, and that will be understanding. Of course you can also have a "bad" trip on MDMA/Molly/etc. In which one can get a bit paranoid and untrusting. Usually people will say they pick up people's "vibes" more readily, and can tell to trust them or not. But who is to say, you're under major psychoactive substances lol.

    It is a pity that there is not a "truth serum", that once, given the subject experiences true reality without interpretation, without irrational thoughts; that the subject only experiences what is true. what is real. I wonder if that would be a good thing or torturous.

      Duke I was put out with that when I had my wisdom teeth out. It worked. I woke up when it was over, a bit groggy, and walked outta the room and a nurse said that she thought I should sit back down for a bit. I opened my mouth intending to say "I'm fine", but instead said "yea, I feel like I'm drunk." After she sat me down I thought "why did I say that?"

    • @DanieljBanegas
      @DanieljBanegas 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I to had my wisdom teeth taken out. (three on my right side....which I am told is uncommon) It was such an interesting experience, the gas put me out really quick. When i awoke, i was still slightly in a daze, but the nurse commented... "Your taking it pretty well" or something to that extent.... I replied without fully realizing... "Yea, ive taken a lot of drugs in my life" haha

      When I was in the US Army, I had an operation on my wrist and was given Sodium Pentothal for the immediate pain. Since I then had current access to classified material there was a fellow troop from my unit stationed beside my bed while I was "under" that.
      My left wrist was wrapped up and suspended from an overhead set of bars, to reduce swelling. But as I drifted in and out of consciousness, I would sometime imagine that I was reading a book or magazine. Then I would realize that that wasn't possible with one hand wrapped and suspended. I would "OPEN" my eyes and see my fellow troop next to my bed and my hand still immobilized.
      If someone had come up to me there in bed and said, "Hi there. I'm your CO and I'd like you to tell me what you've been working on recently," I'd have believed him and answered him. So, in that sense, I regarded this as a Truth Serum, at least as it worked on me.

    The one time I took actual LSD it had a 'truth serum' effect. It was strange, as I usually play my cards close to the vest and try to portray a stoic demeanor. It's hard to do this under the influence of that substance. You would try to say one thing, and another thing entirely would come out. Something you would normally not communicate. I haven't heard of this being a common side-effect for the substance, though I know it did factor into the old MK Ultra experimentation.

      Unfortunately "lie detectors" aren't only used in movies or to trick people to confess, innocents peoples have been refused jobs or put under investigation because of them, others have simply lost their jobs or reputation. Simply refusing to take a lie detector test can be harmful.
      A similar subject is dowsing and dowsing machines, some sold to countries as explosive detectors. On the same vein are various type of "act or substance that leave an odor" detecting dogs that are used in some places to justify a search without a warrant.
      Have you done a video on any of those subjects?

    interesting thought for you - someone who believed whole heartedly that they did not commit x crime but were frammed for it could ask for the foolproof truth serum as an ultimate defense
    They can not lie under the effects
    (assuming they are accurate) They are easily believed when they say they didn't do it

    • @JayTemple
      @JayTemple 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I read about an experiment where someone was told to lie to every question he was asked without a truth serum. Then he was given a dose and given the same instruction. There was one question to which he gave the same answer: Have you ever committed a crime? (It may have been "gotten a traffic ticket?") He had forgotten a traffic ticket when he wasn't under the influence, so he "lied" and said yes. When he was under the influence, he said yes again.

    I guess it can still hold some information.. even if it's fiction or not.. like not giving out a written confession, but a confession and a story about what happened with more detail. And then the prosecutor may look to valid those details mentioned and may come true. Like pulling a confession out of a murderer to tell how it happened then says he dumped the weapon over the bridge in the water at that location.. and then the prosecutor find that weapon in that exact spot, relates it to the crime weapon.. and then this can really be a precious bit of self incrimination by that story that proved to be true based in forensic evidence.

    I was friend to Alex Sullivan, a victim of the Aurora theater shooting. A right to remain silent is BS, not a constitutional right. If you're medicated into rambling the truth and you're guilty, then you are probably getting your "right to a speedy trial." If you're rambling the truth and you're innocent, then you're probably helping your own case. Controversial... smh The controversy with these serums over rights of the accused is RIDICULOUS.

    Wow.. over a year old so far and not a single dislike... not even the obligatory dick head that has to give it at least one dislike and ruin it because they can't handle the temptation.
    This comment will now most likely be the reason for the first dislike though, sorry about that in advance. Some humans are just like that.
    Edit: Told you. Regardless, they still have a bunch of other older videos with the same story, no dislikes.

    • @Siberius-
      @Siberius- 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Erik Bob - lol, I saw another one of their videos with zero dislikes too.. old one. Their old videos have such a good like to dislike ratio.. I think they are just the early fans and then the videos got burried in youtube and hard to get to now..
      I was looking for a specific video from their channel.. I typed in the channel name and the main word from the title, nothing came up.. all irrelevant crap that didn't even have the word I searched for.. had to fully type it out.. I don't think youtube prioritises the old stuff very much.

    • @Siberius-
      @Siberius- 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Erik Bob - PewDiePie won't actually delete his channel.. it's like a running joke that he has to resort to clickbait because that's what youtube wants (H3H3's last video was good on that). Pewdiepie will most likely delete the Jack septiceye2 channel or something, since that's his channel too. This is his how he makes his living and he really enjoys what he does.. so no way would he delete it. Also a great way to get to 50 million faster and get more subscribers.. that video was trending very highly.

    • @Siberius-
      @Siberius- 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Erik Bob - I never used to like him.. but his content and whole persona and humour is hilarious now, so I've been subscribed now. He's a lot more comfortable and happier now too.. does what he wants and not playing a character as much anymore, he's got a wider audience now too, used to be mainly kids and young teenagers by the looks of it.

    • @Siberius-
      @Siberius- 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Erik Bob - I too, concur. lol.
      Too bad his comment sections are filled with so many people complaining about it and how he doesn't do the bro fist much anymore and the intro and all that crap.. and not as many games (game after game after game where he's sick of it and the games are often crap and forced). All of that bro fist and into stuff made me cringe every time, and the voice he put on.. a lot of them are young kids who don't like the change away from them.. but yea, I like it lol.

      I saw this comment and was going to dislike the video just to be that guy but before I did I thought to myself "Hmm what an accomplishment, I won't screw that up"
      I am obliged to dislike another video though, I suppose Troll Chat or Pewdiepie will do
