Their based on the mkiii marines in very early art. They don’t follow the design of the mkiii marines as their Armour looks to be made to be as it is, instead of being plates bolted or ribboned unto an 🎉existing suit of mark 2 Armour.
From my understadning, they're based of older MKIII art. personally, i like it more than the old one, it's armor is more neutral than 'space crusader', and it works better in other chapters that are less....crusad-y?
In some artwork the Iron Warriors eyes have icey blue eyes, which fits their icecold demeanour perfectly. No warmth in this legion except for their superior firepower!
I do miss the old MkIII helmets, though I appreciate the resemblance these ones have to the Rogue Trader art. Makes me wish they came as part of a Rogue Trader upgrade kit line 🤔
Love all the legion color schemes all of you did. The Emperor's Children and Iron Warriors tied for my favorite. Patiently waiting for the Dreadnought video.
As an Iron Warrior I’d love to see a nice conversion of a standard warrior, scavenged armor, added on armor like tanks, and Ofcourse the iconic mark 3 helmet or some similar armor.
Always impressed by the paint techniques you guys use. You manage to make your minis look so professional while also being really vibrant and distinct.
I feel like with a few strategic bits changes these sculpts can look almost like MK4 as well. (Specifically as seen in the Space Marine game). I'm going to be using the box mainly for a few 40k projects, most of it will be for my Deathwatch army and I'm going to convert some to make a firstborn version of the new strike force Justian kill team.
Me watching the Night Lords section: "Where lightning" But honestly, what a fantastic conversation. I'll have to do some of that for my own Night Lords!
I cant lie I really wish they hadn't discontinued the old kit, its parts all lined up almost perfectly with Deathguard parts although it is good to get better scaled variants.
That death guard plague marine helmet idea is genius, they'd be perfect for iron warriors or Imperial fists imo, especially with the spike snipeped off... definitely stealing it now
It's nice seeing an update to the mk3 armor, makes it much easier to make uncorrupted conversions of death guard. I've always wanted to make a chaos death guard army without the disease and mutations apparent because imo that would make them the coolest space marine army there is.
Well, I WAS going to do Iron warriors when my box set arrived... but after seeing it with the Emperors Children paint job, I might have to go down that route.
took them long enough to make a plastic Eddie (That's what they nicknamed Deredeos in the Rogue trader days. They also nicknamed contemptor dreads 'chucks')
Great results, but man that video was a sprint! Just my 2 cents: I would have liked if the pace was slowed just a bit to show a few more details of the painting process
I always love seeing the original looks of the Traitor Legions! I love chaos space marines now, but occasionally they can get a bit same-y. Also, the audio seemed a bit off this video, not exactly matching up with what was happening on screen, or having some odd cuts seemingly between different sentences. But it didn't really detract from the video, and I loved the paint jobs!
Hi, I LOVE your word bearers paint scheme. Could you please explain which paints and how you used them? It’s probably my favorite space marine paint scheme I’ve ever seen. It’s the perfect shade of red as well and I would love to try this out myself! Thank you for the help if you see this!
Amazing work, i prefer the old helmets, more big and cubersome. The new ones give me the idea of a head instead of a helmet with a head inside. Only One thing for death guard i dont remove the Spike because are iconic for them.
Honestly the better proportions are welcome in the new design. But the essence of the Mark 3 armor is better represented in the old design, especially the helmet.
The bottom part of the new helmets are fine its fine but i really dont like the baseball cap with a spike in it look of the top luckily i used forge world head kits for my old mark III marines so im gonna use the old helmets!
Iron warriors for life and one thing that I really love about how you did this one Dave is because it doesn't look super chaos and depending on its loadout you could still play it in 40K Because I'm planning on doing iron warriors for 40K alongside my custom grey knights army the war foxes but my iron warriors are from one of the alternative heresies where the iron warriors stayed loyal but because I don't want to have to come up with a whole new set of rules specifically for them I still have to play them as if they are chaos and thankfully I can play them as either loyalists or chaos for story-driven games and again depending on the loadout I give them for my guys I could have them play in horus heresy 30k and 40K plus I don't want to have to paint all that trim if I don't have to like that would get so annoying so quickly
And when it comes to putting the chapter symbol on I keep one of the shoulders black outside of the gold trim and I just paint a small upside down egg in a silverish white and then draw five little lines to make the eyes and three lines for teeth and in the corner of the shoulder armor on the front side I put a Roman 4 and on the lower section of each leg between the knee and the foot half of it I keep normal and the other half I paint up in the black and yellow hazard stripes separating it right down the center and they are on the outside side of each leg for the front shin panel and for stuff like the terminators with any power cables going from the elbow towards the hand for certain weapons I paint those cables yellow and do the internal joint section black to be another hazard stripes
the DG head is a little to big... but it looks better then the heads the new MK III comes with... not really big fan of the new MK III.... would have prefered MK V instead
Launching the New Heresy edition with MK V, not the relatively rare and niche MK VI, would’ve worked quite well for everyone... and not redesigning a classic in the MK III randomly. But ah well- these things still exist in the community, so I don’t mind too much if GW makes unusual decisions :)
Stupid question for the community or TTT team. What is the scale of these and the other HH box? Are they the same as OG space marines (1st born)? They seem smaller than Primaris (obvious?).
Awesome video! Loved it all, got abit triggered when it flashed up XVI - Black Legion….. SoH are NOT the Black Legion post heresy. Read the books! Loved all of these kitbashes & paintjobs awesome work!

I'd like to do a Dornian Heresy themed army, maybe either Loyalist Iron Warriors/World Eaters or Traitor Space Wolves/Blood Angels respectively
Iron Warriors didn't change much from being traitor or loyalist
@@ironwithin3875 I suppose so
I'm working on a loyalists Lionel heresy luna wolves army at the moment and was thinking about making a traitors 40k army of blood angels/space wolves
@@andrewjkipp2837 That'd be pretty cool to see
the new mk 3 heads are weird to me as it seems they are based on the death guards custom pattern helmet instead of the classic mk 3

Damn… that sounds cool as hell!!
I’m doing iron warriors for HH and I cant believe that he spent 1hr on the mini
@@The_Ghost_of_cabbage_pastonly an hour? Or a whole damn hour?
@@b-beale1931 I painted an entire Mk6 box in 15 hours if you spend more than 45 minutes on a basic infantry that is unnecessary.

Love all the legion color schemes all of you did. The Emperor's Children and Iron Warriors tied for my favorite. Patiently waiting for the Dreadnought video.
Jen never finished that Nightlord.
WHERE ARE THE LIGHTNING BOLTS?!
No Dark Angels? I thought you were covering all of the traitors?
The Iron Warrior and Son of Horus look great.
Would love to see a non traitors Legion too!
11:57 loving nurglings isnt weird they are the most adorable things trying to make grandfather nurgle happy😊

Thanks for video, and that thousand sons marine is really wonderful.
Iron Within - iron Without, nice to see you're a Man of Culture, Dave! :D
i really like the night lords' breacher shield idea!
warhammer horus heresy is so cool!

The night lord and world eater looked ace!
Those arms look like a nightmare to put on!
They all look really cool!
I always love when you show so many different ways to approach the same kind of mini.
Nice! I love how the deathguard was painted.
I cant lie I really wish they hadn't discontinued the old kit, its parts all lined up almost perfectly with Deathguard parts although it is good to get better scaled variants.
The paint scheme on the Emperor's Children model is so beautiful! It has such lovely depth to it.

Damn, a Night Lord Breacher? That’s not something you hear everyday
i mean sometimes the flaying victims are inside a fortified area, gotta get in somehow
@@synergy8879 Fair enough lol
I LOVE this Iron Warrior paint scheme. The brightening up with the silver followed by the gloss makes it look so good.
I really want to see you guys do a HH Battle Report! Let’s see those Alpha Legion on the table, wrecking the noobz Dave!
Funnily enough, that style of helmet marks a World Eater who *hasn’t* lost himself fully to the nails. Lost warriors use the horn/crest helmets.
AWESOME color scheme, but the one chosen for the alpha legion blew my mind. I would love to see a tutorial!
Hydra dominatus!

I would give this Video Timestamps to make it even better! Great Video! Thank you so much!

The basing on the emperors children model is something i find REALLY satisying
looking really good!
Wow, that's a lot of bits in that box! This is tempting me to get into HH to paint Blood Angels again...
You should make a custom Loyalist Fulgrim (Clone Grim)!!
Those all look amazing! Well done team
As an world eater and word bearers fan I’m satisfied with the style and how you guys did my boys great works
We need now 9 loyalist Legionaries
Great results, but man that video was a sprint! Just my 2 cents: I would have liked if the pace was slowed just a bit to show a few more details of the painting process
I play Iron Warriors in HH and 40k so I love the MK3 look for them. However I do not like the new heads especially with the spike on top.
if i get these particular models im cutting the spike off the helmets for the classic MKIII look.
Pretty much nailed guessing the price of the Dorito.
Space bears derideo please 🙏🏻
Iron warriors look excellent in MK3.
Very cool conversions everyone! I will definitely be making my own conversions and adding these guys to my Red Corsairs 40k😅
Nothing looks more DeathGuard then the spike on the helmet. Why did you kept it on almost every factions BUT the DeathGuards?
Great looking looking work!

That deathguard is gorgeous! You all smashed these but it's gotta be said, needs more beakie :P
really fun to see! looks like a great box
100% gonna convert these Mk3 into Phalanx Warders :D
you guys definitely do a brighter color scheme for all of these than i do
Should have left the spike on the Death Guard’s helmet.

The spike helmets reminds me of some people who are neighbours with france
hooray Land Raider Proteus for my Death Guard Deathshroud

Murray, which books from HH are you talking about specifically for the Death Guard? I’d like an intro to them, and your description hooked me.
The Seige of Terra series :)
Every book made me appreciate a new legion haha
This armor seems to be made for an Iron Warriors army honestly.
Well I'm almost entirely sure the armor is called Iron armor due to IW's heavy use of it lol
Honestly the better proportions are welcome in the new design. But the essence of the Mark 3 armor is better represented in the old design, especially the helmet.

It's pretty impressive the world eater managed to only get blood on like 3 teeth on his chainsword...must have forgot to turn it on or something
I honestly prefer the old colors of the World Eaters they look better in that
R u guys goin to do loyalist next?
That night lord is top tier.
I’m definitely using this for my iron warriors
World Eater without a chainaxe is criminal😂 great looking models tho
I wonder if they got this idea from Eric’s hobby workshop because that’s where I first say someone paint all 18
Eric is always inspiring us
Get that lady some superglue activator.
Loyalists next? Pleeeaaasseeee

Excellent video
My favourite type
Death guard heads a fraction too big but like ....0.5 out but it works 🤘
ah dang i thought you were painting the mortal kombat iii strike team miniatures. oh well
Where have I seen this before?
Stupid question for the community or TTT team. What is the scale of these and the other HH box? Are they the same as OG space marines (1st born)? They seem smaller than Primaris (obvious?).
The marine models are smaller in HH thank in 30k/40k, even than the first born in 40k.
Larger than firstborn slightly smaller than primaris. About the same size as chaos space marines or the thousand sons release
Death gaurd helmet is WAAAY to big. Theres other helmets in their range that fit though, that one seems like its terminator sized or something?
Awesome video! Loved it all, got abit triggered when it flashed up XVI - Black Legion….. SoH are NOT the Black Legion post heresy. Read the books! Loved all of these kitbashes & paintjobs awesome work!
I didn't even notice it! Sounds like we need to indoctrinate the editor into 40k ;)
I have to say, I'm not a fan of the new helmets. They just look wierd and small to me.
I’m surprised you kept encouraging replicating a paint scheme that uses discontinued gloss shades.
That's discontinued? Wow. It sucked pretty much everything else, oh well. Put some gloss varnish on it or use matte
You can mix gloss varnish into the Shade and get the same effect. Especially the new ones since they use Contrast medium as the basis.
I know I’m late and you probably won’t respond to my comment but what paints did you use for the purple on the Emperor’s Children?
They were the purples from Broken Anvils paint range I believe
I'm sorry the Night Lords are a total miss. I appreciate the attempt but the helmet is totally different. The rest look great
Love this❤
You missed the most important legion of all, the Dark Angels
I miss you saying TTT. 😢
Need to ask MK3 armor was used on Istvaan 3? Asking for diorama
Where did the shield come from? I'd like to get one
What is the green used as a base for the Sons of Horus model called?
What colours are used for the metalics on the son of horus? that looks great
I want ask you guys where i cam find that chains you use for Soh. Thei are perfect what size is ?
lol the helmet is a little big for that death guard 🤭
