About that etched brass, I wonder if it's possible to make your own with a laser printer? Maybe with a thick foil, or plastic sheet (beware of fumes) or something
You won't be able to directly etch the brass foil but you can vaporize the etch protective sealant if you have a desktop laser etcher before dropping the foil into the etching solution and thus shortcut part of the process (photo exposition).
Absolutely want to see more of all of the above! Personally, Id love to see some Battle Reports of Murray's Steel Legion, Dave's Traitors Guard, Jazza's Astra Primursa, and Jenn's Sisters of Battle all going at each other, maybe even a 4-way free-for-all at some point! But seeing you all work on your armies gets me hyped for my own miniature projects, and Im always happy to see more!
Some music issues in the last quarter and I wish the video of the model in the patreon scroll wasn't cut off, didn't get to see the models in good light besides that. Absolutely beautiful work on both sides, absolutely love the scene setting on them and how well they contrast!
Love to see more of both Steel Legion and Renegades. This video was inspirational as I am about to start working on my new Astra Militarum box this weekend.
Please do make more videos on the steel legion, they are the original death korps after all and I think they tend to get overshadowed by them. So it is nice to see them get some love.
Love these builds! Both have been sort of a dream project for me but just startet to build/paint up a steel legion force from old metal minis and the new kriegsmen. Totally gonna steel this for my big artillery!
Loving the traitor guard, wishing I had some of those renegades and heretics bits to do with mine! Would also love to see how you would convert some traitor Karskin/ storm troopers with the new kits.
Loved this conversion video! You guys always knock it out of the park with your builds… I would love to see more of Murray’s steel legion and Dave’s traitor guard might be cool to see a battle report between the 2 factions just saying 🤔
Steel legion is by far the greatest legion. It's the visual aesthetic of Krieg but without the fanboys & a better thematic design. I don't care for Yarrick & I am definitely more into the Helsreach stuff. All around cool setpieces.
Maybe Dave could combine a Rogal Dorn with bits from the Plagueburst Crawler kit? I think the way that the PBC chassis looks would fit in perfectly as, like, outdated or non-standard equipment with a lot of ramshackle appliqué armour welded on, while the Rogal Dorn is just a really good-looking kit.
There is one big problem with the artillery... the gunner sits right behind the breach... which recoils... and will plow into the chest of the gunner. Even if it doesn't recoil so far, shell ejection and reloading will be harder.
I wantz ze both please. Seriouslu, they both look amazing and I'd love to see them pitted against each other in a battle report: ...perhaps with the same exact lists so strategy and luck hold all of the sway on the engagement?
I recently got told by a friend about a company that still prints the stuff that forgeworld stopped printing. I don’t know too much in them but they are called black market miniatures < no they are not on the black market, but they do look pretty good
Okie doke! Well, first and foremost, loooooove the model kitbashing here, steel legion were really impressive! So were the little chaosy boys! But while I was watching I had a few issues. 1.) You guys cut away from the projects really abruptly, I didn't feel like I was getting too huge a feel for what the models were going to be like till it was all over. You both are amazing painters, and I want to really see that being fleshed out. 2.) This is my main gripe, kinda feel like you didn't let us look at the finished pieces for long enough, or as close as I'd need to with all of those awesome details you put in. Maybe during the patreon shoutout your finished projects can be after? Not during? (This is the main stuff, anything else is going to be even nit-pickier) Either way, love that Steel Legion is getting the well needed attention for this episode! I am Alpharious!!! (Or am I?)
Cool video, the two of you pursuing the same hobby goal in different ways was great. Also Nice to see the butt ugly iron-on meat patty kneepads come away easy from the new Cadians.
Huh, that etched brass actually looks sick. Not great for my uses as I don't have Chaos units like that but surely that technique could be used somehow for many armies
Great video love both armies wanna see more of each faction … very cool would be awesome for whole army review I love seeing hobbyist’s collections laid out and reviewed… gives me inspiration to achieve better and buy more plastic and resin… thanks for sharing 👍🍻
This was really cool to watch. I'm in the middle of painting my first guard units, a Death Korp Kill Team. I think I'll need to get a Blooded team too just to have some of the traitor vibes I saw in this video.
While I collect IG, I even found a whole bunch or reprints for Steel Legion I’ve always adored the renegade militia models Is there anywhere I can find some of the torso/ head bits that isn’t insanely pricey?
well steel legion would be great to have as well, they don't have plastics really...and i always enjoyed the more grounded nature of them, instead of being "born hard of cadia" or " dead man walking" with kreig, they are the joe average of a hive given a gun and told to fight like only human kind can, they may have lived boring or bad lives But IT WAS THERE LIFES! DEATH TO THE XENO INVADER!
I love old school Warhammer models, so anything featuring the pewter Steel Legion would make me happy, but I'm also really invested in those traitor guard. They're such a cool interpretation of that 'dex. And I miss my 4th edition Lost and the Damned.
Hang on there. Are all new sprues/models like the ones shown here, now? I remember building Cadians and Catachans that were made up out of separate torsos, heads, pairs of legs, and arms. What happened?
@@crapparc You could, if you wanted to go through this much work, put them together and cut the figure in half and then replace the torso or legs if you so choose though with some of the poses being the way they are, you might as well just toss the body and legs in the bin and use the heads and arms on third party bits honestly, that's what I've done for my custom regiment.
I have a collection of Vic minis bits for soldiers. Male/female torsos etc. Weapon and accessories gasmasks etc. Basically two tubs of random stuff for diversity. On top of that I have 4x Heavy Mortars and 3x Sledgehammer BFG. Love vic minis stuff!
Minis are fun, but I subscribed for the personalities. I'm not into the artillery but I'm here and liking because the team is awesome! (So for me it doesn't matter what you do.)
Steel Legion vs Renegade Guard would make a great battle report
About that etched brass, I wonder if it's possible to make your own with a laser printer? Maybe with a thick foil, or plastic sheet (beware of fumes) or something
I guess it would be possible to make the flat plates by 3d printing them.
I know about some hobby and craft stores, they have thin sheets of metal for jewelry crafting and itching.
Also as a side note, you could search up litho etching techniques for litho printing to achieve the same effect. Especially making metal key blocks.
making your own photo etch part IS possible but its a LOOOOOOTTTTT of work involving some serious chemicals
You won't be able to directly etch the brass foil but you can vaporize the etch protective sealant if you have a desktop laser etcher before dropping the foil into the etching solution and thus shortcut part of the process (photo exposition).
The Traitor guard is definitly my fav
More of both of these, please!
The two coolest guard armies
Absolutely want to see more of all of the above! Personally, Id love to see some Battle Reports of Murray's Steel Legion, Dave's Traitors Guard, Jazza's Astra Primursa, and Jenn's Sisters of Battle all going at each other, maybe even a 4-way free-for-all at some point!

Steel legion is beautiful. Love both and want more of both
I want to see more of both these armies, please and thank you. I love your guard convervions!
Love these and it's nice to see the Renegade forgeworld torsos work really well with the new parts
Love to see more of both Steel Legion and Renegades. This video was inspirational as I am about to start working on my new Astra Militarum box this weekend.

i really do LOVE the narrative bases you guys constructed for these field batteries!
Brilliant job guys. Two of the grittiest "Guard" armies I've seen in ages. :>)
Loving the traitor guard, wishing I had some of those renegades and heretics bits to do with mine! Would also love to see how you would convert some traitor Karskin/ storm troopers with the new kits.

Lmfao that outro! Chaos demmands excess of videos! (Both looked bloody amazing btw
There is one big problem with the artillery... the gunner sits right behind the breach... which recoils... and will plow into the chest of the gunner. Even if it doesn't recoil so far, shell ejection and reloading will be harder.
Great video. Thanks for making it!
I would love to see more of the Steel Legion!
They’re both absolutely incredible!
I wantz ze both please. Seriouslu, they both look amazing and I'd love to see them pitted against each other in a battle report: ...perhaps with the same exact lists so strategy and luck hold all of the sway on the engagement?
I'd love to see a traitor guard sentinel next!
I love the positivity tbh. I like how they complement each other’s models, it’s so wholesome
Passion projects ftw! The colour-scheme is incredibly interesting despite just being gray, amazing!
More of both. More converstion in general please
Watching you scrape off the aquillas with a roached x-acto blade was PAINFUL! I had to look away...
As a fellow enjoyer of gasmaskbois, although from a different planet, I would really love to see Maury his take on more models!
I recently got told by a friend about a company that still prints the stuff that forgeworld stopped printing. I don’t know too much in them but they are called black market miniatures < no they are not on the black market, but they do look pretty good
GW needs to make new steel legion and catachan models
I'd absolutely love some more Steel Legion, let's get more of those banana boys!
Superb video guys, very inspiring 😊
Okie doke!

I am Alpharious!!!
(Or am I?)
Amazed to see you make Steel Legion out of basically nothing.
I love the diorama-esq things you guys did with the bases. The popsiclesticks for the trench is amazing and I will drobably do that for my own guards!
What I really enjoyed was the transition and commenting on each other. I like it when people appreciate each other's work.
Cool video, the two of you pursuing the same hobby goal in different ways was great. Also Nice to see the butt ugly iron-on meat patty kneepads come away easy from the new Cadians.
I wanna see more of both!
Looks great guys!
"Dive on in" classic Australian expression
I want to see more of the Steel Legion 😃
Really love that shade of yellow on the steel legion. Definitely stealing that for my pewter steel legion.
And I would definitely watch more steel legion content going forward
Cadia Stands is my first ever warhammer army, so this is fun to see!
Appropriate to use a Krieg head for the Steel Legion model, since the Death Korps started as a colour scheme for Steel Legion models.
"I love artillery!" well mortars now have an average wounds output of 0...
these models look like they would be long in FallOut!
I would love to see more traitor guard, a while army would be rad! And also a look at how you would field it
Huh, that etched brass actually looks sick. Not great for my uses as I don't have Chaos units like that but surely that technique could be used somehow for many armies
They’re both awesome!! Give me more!!!!!
Both conversions are awesome!
I would love more videos where both are done! This was great
This will be a great vid for me who wants to convert the field bombast crew to kriegers
the steel legion love their tanks so much they wont stop building them cause of a few orks lol
TRAITOR GUARD!!!!
Love the videos by the way
get the green stuff cable rollers, makes doing some kit bashes much easier
The emperor protects… But big guns don’t hurt
Would love to see more of both!!!
more traitor legion please so i actually get inspired to do my own for my emperors children
Great video love both armies wanna see more of each faction … very cool would be awesome for whole army review I love seeing hobbyist’s collections laid out and reviewed… gives me inspiration to achieve better and buy more plastic and resin… thanks for sharing 👍🍻

Is there anywhere I can find some of the torso/ head bits that isn’t insanely pricey?
Yeeh, both is honestly a pretty nice format for this stuff XD
No airbrush for all that grey? Crazy
Is it still possible to get my hands on the vox castor operator from the command sprue? Can’t find the forge world bits anywhere! Very cool though 😅
Lovely work boys
More Steel Legion!
I need to see necrons man
Which green you use on the Steel Legion metal parts? Is this Death Guard Green?
More of both!
Watching you cut with the scalpel facing your thumb gives me the heebie-jeebies
I would love to see a squad of ork boozers.
I would like to see more of… BOTH! But mainly steel legion
well steel legion would be great to have as well, they don't have plastics really...and i always enjoyed the more grounded nature of them, instead of being "born hard of cadia" or " dead man walking" with kreig, they are the joe average of a hive given a gun and told to fight like only human kind can, they may have lived boring or bad lives But IT WAS THERE LIFES! DEATH TO THE XENO INVADER!
Love your 40k content. Keep it up! ❤️
Incase you haven't seen earthshaker batteries are currently the best artillery in the guard
I love Murray’s chaotic energy and crazy eyes 😂
They should make a video showing off all of their armies that they have made, probably of a playable size.
does the codex give you an outline for the stats on something custom like this?? how to you know how to play these custom pieces?
Fun fact korps is Dutch for corps ie marine corps pronounced core and not the corps (dead body)
Cannot believe how nice the coats turned out
more steel legion plz
Could someone please tell me what the dark grey paint dave uses for his traitor guard, I've been trying to find it for ages for my own traitor guard.
I love old school Warhammer models, so anything featuring the pewter Steel Legion would make me happy, but I'm also really invested in those traitor guard. They're such a cool interpretation of that 'dex. And I miss my 4th edition Lost and the Damned.
Let's see both your armies, please.. Loads of entertainment love watching you all on TTT
We need more !
I've found cheap guitar wire is great for giving the effect of tubes and cables! Saves tons of time from sculpting
Hang on there. Are all new sprues/models like the ones shown here, now? I remember building Cadians and Catachans that were made up out of separate torsos, heads, pairs of legs, and arms. What happened?
They made them monopose garbage
I was afraid of that. It's something that I really do not appreciate.

Just so sick lookin
Just found this channel and I gotta say I'm hooked! Great video:)
Welcome!
Welcome… there is no escape
Seeing etched brass is such a nostalgia trip. I wish I had gotten some when it was available.
Yeah they're a fortune on ebay now
I'm building my Steel Legion currently. I think I'm going to try and do a similar kitbash with the field guns I have. It'll be a worthy challenge.
Definitely more traitor guard!!
Nice hos many of the Victoria Miniatures support weapons have you used?
I have a collection of Vic minis bits for soldiers. Male/female torsos etc. Weapon and accessories gasmasks etc. Basically two tubs of random stuff for diversity. On top of that I have 4x Heavy Mortars and 3x Sledgehammer BFG. Love vic minis stuff!
what is the green stuff in the back of the steel legion guard?
Very fun to watch
Why does Murray have "crazy eyes"? But ONLY when he is looking directly into the camera? Is he trying to tell us something?
Minis are fun, but I subscribed for the personalities. I'm not into the artillery but I'm here and liking because the team is awesome! (So for me it doesn't matter what you do.)
