    Lots of people love Bering. The 77 was a masterpiece. This is one they made with no crew in mind. When lockdown came, he spent 3 months on his boat getting down to figuring out what worked and doesn't work. But they have some great designs

      I love that Bering over engineers everything, even the cleats are for much larger ships. Sounds wasteful, but if you’ve experienced issues on a ship, robust everything is worth every penny.

    • @johningham4942
      @johningham4942 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@Erin-Thor yes Erin I have to agree with you on that one, they do equip every yacht they build with oversize cleats and bollards that are similar to elephant bollards. Everything on their yachts is oversized, they are built like tanks for anything they may encounter on the savage seas.

    Alexi (owner of bering yachts) doesn't like fly bridge controls (why expose expensive electronics to salt water and Sun). I totally agree. The great thing about Bering Yachts is that they constantly learn and evolve their designs.

    Hugo!! We have a drinking game named after you and it’s creating some pretty hefty hangovers, lol. It’s just called “Hugo”. Whenever you say “proper”, the next person has to take a shot of beer. If you really get excited or impressed by an attribute of the yacht and give it the double “proper, proper” tagline, it’s a shot of something a bit heavier like tequila, lol. Love your tours my friend!! 👍🏻😎👍🏻
    By the way, Bering are some of my absolute favorite yachts. They are built to go the distance in a safety and comfort. Literally built to commercial specs.😎

      I believe the 77 has option for crew accommodations of two cabins each with two bunks, shared head, and a little rec area with drawer refrigerator, microwave, sink and what not. I’d think a lot of owners of something in this class might want the option to have a Captain at times, or possibly even occasionally a chef if hosting a dinner party or whatever.

    This vid omits the design principle: the B70 is a coastal cruiser, not a blue water cruiser. For calm to medium seas. In gale conditions, the bow would be swamped with green water continually, and that deck sofa would be washed away in seconds. I expect that sofa u-frame would create many problems, as it would trap green water in its bay. The B77 appears to be the superior all-round vessel.

Also how much as opposed post to something in glass like nordhoven? And what about this boat for northern latitudes like that Norwegian archipelago North of manland Norway? Also you commented about owner skipper.. Is the boat set up for single handed or do you still need at least a cruising couple?

    I think the 70 was NOT designed to be a "proper sea-going yacht" (crossing the Atlantic, etc.) as the 77 was. The 70 would be an excellent coastal cruiser (Med, BVI, etc.) for an owner-operator. The 70 is overall a significantly smaller boat and much less expensive than the 77 as well.

    Love the Bering explorer boats though, certainly my fave of those I've seen, and as others have said, the Bering owner, Alexei, seems keen to promote how much goes into making these high quality boats. The Nautistyles videos of them and of the Bering boatyard in Turkey, offer a lot of insight into how much the company values build quality etc.

    If that’s the sort of buyer then I will surely pass on this one. Let me clarify, it’s a wonderful vessel and beautifully appointed. But one person owns it and then has to share it with their “social circle”. You’ve gone beyond a boat into a hotel that floats with all the accoutrements. Perhaps I’ll stop off at the Flemings and Nordhavns in the high 50’s ideal for a max of three couples. Or the single large family. No hangers on and certainly no beautiful people allowed.
