    I was going to quip that every Bering 70 comes with a complimentary Man in the master cabin reading you a magazine every night before going to bed. A worthwhile extra for sure for every boat. But then the end came and you introduced David and why he was there.

    Loved that coffee table, really neatly done in a way that works for both occasions whilst being minimalist.

  • @AntonKramer
    @AntonKramer 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    The Bering 70 is next to Nordhavn and Fleming among my favourites.
    The possibility to discover an almost unlimited sailing area with a minimal crew appeals to me very much in this type of trawler style yachts without making concessions on comfort and no overkill of luxury, you can find yourself with this kind of ships in both the most expensive marinas in the Mediterranean and also not be too out of place when you moor in a simple fishing port.
    And luckily David wasn't in the shower while Nick was doing his tour! :)

  • @Th3OmegaPoint

    David just chilling in the master cabin was hilarious! I really like this builder, they make some serious yachts. I believe they're building a 135 at the moment which I'd love to see.

Honestly it might feel a little cramped after a few days, but very well executed and, of course, a great tour! Thanks Nick, and thanks David!

    Bering has certainly replaced Nordhavn and Flemming as my first choice of monohull globetrotter. Silent Yachts would be my multi-hull of choice. (At least for personal sized vessels i.e. not superyachts). It doesn't have a "little ship" FEEL, it IS a little ship !!! EDIT: the 70 "only" has 2,500 miles of range. The rest of the fleet is 4,000 to 6,000 mile range. Certainly 2,500 miles is pretty amazing for many parts of the world but you want 4,000 mile range to get to the Americas from Europe.

    • @123OGNIAN
      @123OGNIAN 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Agree, having a steel hull for less than the price of a Flemming is a no brainer!(nordhavn I think have generally better prices) Silent Yachts are on to something, but they have to fix that range in m opinion.Awesome concept, but the utility I think is still limited in power/ range.Thats why I still prefer a lagoon sailing catamaran with additional solar panels all over the top haha. But the line is getting thinner between the two.

      @@darthkek1953 I still have no idea how that works.Does it ejects/ fires in to the sky or manual unfold and run like a kid on the deck to catch the wind? XD
      I saw a yacht on youtube some time ago with a kite and it used something similar to shotgun shells to make the ignition and fire the kite like a bullet in to the sky and it unfolded there.

      @@darthkek1953 silent yachts are very nice, hopefully one day they will require no fuel burn for long passages. The idea of being able to cruise silently is very tempting also. I have them tied with Iliad for a long range multihull. Also, I’m confused as to how the kite system works in terms of steering, does it work similar to how a kite surfer steers?

  • @r.a.monigold9789

    €2.3 Million? Yes - the POINT THREE is to cover the expense of having David read your boating magazines aloud. No worries, he describes each picture with aplomb - that alone is worth the price. The Bering B70 looks stout and worthy of "living aboard". Thanks for the tour, Nick.

    When Nick says this is a boat, not a motor yacht. You know you are in for a treat. Apart from in the saloon, it feels like you are touring a much bigger boat. This is truly a go anywhere boat. I think I like it more than the Nordhavn boats which are ocean going as well. The engine room with a central fuel tank was different along with both engine exhausts on the port side. I did like the master cabin on this. This is one very solid boat. The gag with David was great. It is nice to see the terrible three (well four) get on so well.
    I would still like to see a Monty Python 'Whicker Island' style review of a boat with all of them trying to review it at the same time!

    Having spotted the Astondoa in the background, can we expect a review of one anytime soon, Nick ? I have known this brand through the local market, because here in Bulgaria we rarely have Sunseekers and Princesses for sale, but occasionally an Astondoa pops up as a more interesting offer, but I've never seen much coverage on TH-cam for them.

    Thank you for the tour. Love Bering yachts, 1) steel hulls, 2) dual engines, 3) with lots of luxury. IMHO the only issue is more luxury (large windows, lots of soft material) than utility (small salon, small kitchen - like a studio apartment kitchen in a closet.

    Finally a Bering on Aquaholic! Thanks mate! I just love the Bering ethos, quality and little ship feel. Definitely one of my favorite brands with Nordhavn.
    You mentioned this is the smallest Bering yacht, but you didnt mention its draft is only 1.30 meters, allowing you to go in very shallow waters. That's why its range is not as big as other Bering yachts (in the 4000nm to 6000nm range), it's not meant to cross oceans, but to explore shallow coastlines and such

    I am amazed that this Bering 70 seems so small compared to the 77 that Nauti Styles featured on their channel . Totally different in just 7 feet extra length. I think, being that this Yacht is 5 years old, the newer 70's would have a lot larger interior than this one. Thanks for the video and apperance of David was a funny (suprising) extra.

    • @swisswildpicsswp3095
      @swisswildpicsswp3095 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The 77 is much wider (5.6m vs 7.3m), higher (10m vs 11m) and has much more draft (1.3m vs 2.1m): that makes a LOT more volume.

    This channel hooked me with the flashy Sunseekers, but the more I see these displacement hulls with their range and owner/operator capability, it sure speaks to the "freedom" of the wanna be sailor in me.

    I knew it...you're all in cahoots (Slim Pickens 1941). I've wanted to see a walk through of the B-70 for 6 years. Thank you so much. Her exterior profile is one of the best I've ever seen. Interior's no slouch either.
