This is great, but to me Geoff's best solo work is his version of The Beatles' Blackbird. Also recommend the following performances with his a cappella band Voiceplay. My Mother Told Me Little Mermaid Medley Moana Medley Oogie Boogie Song
I know a lot of people recommend Oogie Boogie song and Blackbird but I really recommend you check Take me home Country Roads cover, is so underrated. Awesome reaction!
There are three ACapella groups right now. Voiceplay is more Theatrical Broadway types of songs. Then there is Home-Free, Tim Foust is their bass He is as low as Geoffs. They do a lot of contemporary and western type songs mostly. And then there is PTX or Pentatonix. They do a lot of Pop Kinda stuff, great Christmas Albums. 90's medleys, Hallelujah and covers like Daft Punk ...Sometimes they all collaborate with each other.
We all are in love, no matter the orientation. I think his range his impressive. His solo works are amazing but I went crazy for his lines in “Little mermaid medley” and “Oogie Bogey’s song” with voiceplay. Top notch
He has a video teaching us how to reach our own low notes. I have a multi range voice, Native American sound. I love my low notes. I love your reaction to this man. I have the same awe. 😮 to it.

Honestly the most surprising thing about Geoff is not how low he can sing, but the fact that someone who sings that low also has such a glorious head voice for his tenor harmonies!
You haven't seen what he can really do until you've seen voiceplays cover of the 'Oogy Boogie Song' from The Nightmare Before Christmas. You should also react to 'Misty Mountains' by Peter Hollens feat. Tim Faust.
His character in the Oogie boogie song is awesome with Voiceplay. Many reactors have said that he produces the lowest note ever sung by a human (the very end of the song).
People may say that Geoff sings the lowest note by a human, but that is not true. Tim Storms has the world record for the lowest note (G-7) and he also has the record for the largest range (10 octaves). However, Geoff has an awesome range that he is able to use seemingly without effort. It is also noteworthy that Geoff has stated that Tim Foust, from Home Free, taught him how to sing subharmonically while they were on the sing-off together. If you watch those sing-off videos, Geoff does not sing that low during those performances. So, he has obviously done a lot of work to perfect this skill.
@@Tryst46 Not G7 G-7. A0 is the lowest note on the piano, and Tim Storms goes 7 Gs below that or 8 octaves below the lowest G on the piano. It is so low that the human ear is not able to hear it, but it is measured by a machine. th-cam.com/video/AaPtiFO-NLc/w-d-xo.html
@@fruitfulvinefamilyministri1557 I would find that very hard to believe. A C3 is just over 130 Hertz, a C2 is just over 65 Hertz, a C1 is just over 32 Hertz, a C0 is just over 16 Hertz. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piano_key_frequencies Based on a halving the frequency on each octave, that would put a C-1 at 8, a C-2 at 4, C-3 at 2 and a C-4 at 1. Going lower than that to C-5 would mean 0.5 Hertz, that's only 1 peak on an oscilliscope every two seconds, C6 is one every 4 seconds. You are telling me that he can pulse his vocal chords at less than 0.25 Hertz or less than 1 beat every 4 seconds? I can go much lower, I click my vocal chords once, come back next week for the next click and a week after that for the next one. That would put my lowest note at around 0.00000000000001 Hertz or a G-300 or thereabouts. I agree he can sing very low, but I doubt very much if he can go as far down as G-7.
He has an amazing range and voice, and yes every voice in here is sung by him. If you want to see more of his solo work any song would do they're all fantastic, tho I love Mele Kalikimaka and Bear Necessities. Then he has other songs with his a cappella group, VoicePlay. A few songs where he shines are The Oogie Boogie song, My mother told me, You're a mean one Mr. Grinch, The Little Mermaid Medley, Daddy Sang Bass, but others like their Queen medley, Billie Eilish medley or Warriors are amazing too.
This was a fun reaction to watch. I’m glad you enjoyed the video as well as Geoff’s talented, well trained voice. He has a few really good ones on his channel, as does Voiceplay. They’re a fun group.
I just wanted to say how much I loved your reaction!....especially when you said "no no....I gotta hear that again....I can't add what everyone has already said....so I would just listen to what the fans are sending you...you can't be disappointed...
Tim Foust, Avi Kaplan and Geoff Castellucci are insane. They can slap the 1st octave around like bullies and hit some notes in the 5th. They aren't naturally as low as the true basso profundo. They extended their range to the point they can hit everything a true basso profundo can and much more.
6:20 I need to explore myself Not a click bait thumbnail. Geoff is the gold standard for deep bass singing. He actually sings when hitting these low notes. He should be heard everywhere!
I always love watching new reactors to Geoff's voice.... Yours was one of the best.... As suggested elsewhere, "blackbird" is a must, and with voiceplay "oogie Boogie song" stunning performances both. Both guaranteed to blow your socks off..
I appreciate his range and diction... In blackbird during *that note" you can still discern the N at the start and the T at the end.... It not just a sub harmonic earthquake starting rumble, lol.
You'll hear people associate Geoff Castellucci with Tim Foust from Home Free and Avi Kaplan (formerly) from Pentatonix. Both Tim and Avi have said that Geoff is a better, smoother bass than either of them and have admitted Geoff can hit lower notes than either of them. Geoff denies this entirely. People want to turn it into a competition, but you shouldn't let them. All three are amazing.
He is technically a baritone, however Tim Foust of Home Free worked with him & taught him how to drop into the lower bass registers without hurting himself. Geoff has actually said this on one of his tutorial vids too. Check out Tim Foust of Home Free. He does a great cover of Ring of Fire with Home Free feat Avi Kaplan. He also does a duet with another guy on Misty Mountains that will blow your mind. Check Home Free out doing Man of Constant Sorrow. It not only will blow your mind about Tim's notes hit, but their beatboxer Adam Rupp is AMAZING doing vocals that ACTUALLY SOUND like true instruments. Tim has a 6 octave range whereas Geoff has a 5. Geoff is from the group Voice Play & was in the same year of The Sing Off that Home Free beat the other groups. It is even stated in that season by the judges that Tim was the only true bass in the competition. During that season's vids you'll see that Geoff is a more natural baritone. Don't get me wrong, I love Geoff's voice too, even though it's a bit nasally to me. I, like you, LOVE a deep deep voice. Home Free does a lot of country songs, but they do some pop songs too. Some vids are quite funny. They genuinely love to have fun. Another suggestion I have is to listen with headphones. You'll hear the nuances of each voice better that might be missed just using your computer's speakers. 😉 Have a blessed day!
Thank you for this! I knew I couldn't be the only one this happened to. I always had a soft spot for low voices but Geoff's voice is something else entirely. I totally fell in love with this voice 😍
In one of Geoff's other solo videos he sang The Bear Necessities, At the end of that video he gave a shouty out to the creator of a guitar plug-in used in the video. in comments on other channels the use of a string bass here was brought up, I think it's another plug-in, and it fits into the song sooo smoothly. it sounds just right. Now then, you owe it to yourself to check out Misty Mountains Cold. By Geoff C. + three other Geoffs.
Geoff is part of an acapella band called Voiceplay. They have a cover of the Oogie Boogie song in which he is the lead vocalist. You might want to check it out, but fair warning: You might faint
Awesome bass singers: Geoff Castalucci (Voiceplay), Tim Foust (Home Free) and Avi Kaplan (formerly with Pentatonix). All belong to A Capella groups except Avi who is now a solo artist even though the other 2 do solo stuff on their personal channels.
If you love this level of bass you need to react to Home Free (they are also acapella). “Man of constant sorrow” and/or “Do you hear what I hear” are awesome.
"low voices are my very very weak spot" You and every other woman. Deep voices are a sign of high testosterone and health. Statistically speaking, women are more likely to marry a man with a higher voice but have an affair with man with a deep voice.
I knew I had a low voice but never gave it much thought... until I started hanging out in Discord and found women go nuts over it. I cannot sing quite as low as Geoff but my natural speaking voice is actually slightly lower.
Got a deep resonant voice as well, women don't give a crap about the singing and speaking. It's all just a temporary thing or wtf moment for ladies, gotta have more than that lol
I always love watching these types of videos bc basses until just recently haven’t gotten much love and as a freshman bass/Russian bass I can’t help but smile
I've only met one person who could sing this low with that clarity. He and I were attending BYU, I sang in the Concert Choir and he sang with the University Singers. When talking to him, I felt bad when he told me that there wasn't much of a market for counter-bassi at the time. I think now things are so much different. I totally love the vibe and feel in this video.
I have seen both men and women reactors get a little flustered at Geoff's voice. I think it hits something instinctive in us all. One of the best reaction comments was, "He must have come out of his mother already in puberty to have a voice so low!" LOL! A rare voice indeed, and the fact he is a natural baritone who trained hard to extend both his bass and tenor voices just makes it all even wilder. Sheesh, and here I was a bit smug as a bratty teen that I could sing from B1 to G5 as a contralto. He made me want to get back into singing, and that's the greatest thing about any musician or artist of any kind: to INSPIRE others!
If you love the low notes, check out Home Free's "Ring of Fire: Featuring Avi Kaplan". It has both Tim Foust and Avi Kaplan singing bass. Avi makes an amazing 2 octave drop in 2 seconds and Tim's final note will absolutely blow you away.

This is great, but to me Geoff's best solo work is his version of The Beatles' Blackbird. Also recommend the following performances with his a cappella band Voiceplay.
My Mother Told Me
Little Mermaid Medley
Moana Medley
Oogie Boogie Song
This lady has to react to Oogie Boogie! I think she might actually melt from Geoff’s range 😂
It's certainly surprising to hear a low bass singer hit those higher notes and go into rock opera style at the same time.
There are a lot more than 3 groups! There are at least12 that I have heard!
Voiceplay's medley of Little Mermaid is also a good choice to hear.
We all are in love, no matter the orientation. I think his range his impressive. His solo works are amazing but I went crazy for his lines in “Little mermaid medley” and “Oogie Bogey’s song” with voiceplay. Top notch
Oh, girl, wait until you hear his cover of "Misty Mountains" that he just released last week... 😁
He has a video teaching us how to reach our own low notes. I have a multi range voice, Native American sound. I love my low notes. I love your reaction to this man. I have the same awe. 😮 to it.
You should check out Tim Foust and Home Free. Geoff credits Tim Foust as a mentor.
And the Pandora’s Box of Geoff has been opened by another reactor!
I personally really enjoy his cover of high and dry. It’s my favorite cover of his because of how pretty it is.
Some artist covers you might want to listen to: Home Free Man of Constant Sorrow; Home Free Ring of Fire ft. Avi; Peter Hollands Misty Mountain ft. Tim Foust.
O death
Oh VT...this was DE-LIGHTFUL to listen to, I've listened to Geoff do this 20x but listening to it with you was like hearing it for the first time.... more, please More!!~
Take Me Home Country Road. Anything with VoicePlay
UUUUH. GOSH.
REACT TO: THE BARE NECESSITIES, BLACKBIRD, THE HEADLESS HORSEMAN, HIGH AND DRY, COUNTRY ROADS, AND, SADDLE UP.
COVER BY THE SAME GUY, THE ONE AND ONLY GEOFF CASTELLUCCI
Honestly the most surprising thing about Geoff is not how low he can sing, but the fact that someone who sings that low also has such a glorious head voice for his tenor harmonies!
You haven't seen what he can really do until you've seen voiceplays cover of the 'Oogy Boogie Song' from The Nightmare Before Christmas. You should also react to 'Misty Mountains' by Peter Hollens feat. Tim Faust.
Every time I see someone randomly react to Geoff, I immediately think "Ya played yourself" because I know the reaction that's gonna follow😂😂
@@fruitfulvinefamilyministri1557 Are you sure that's G7, that's soprano range? Geoff has sung B1 in his songs. I think you mean G0.
@@Tryst46 th-cam.com/video/xtAltg0ZIrY/w-d-xo.html
@@fruitfulvinefamilyministri1557 I would find that very hard to believe. A C3 is just over 130 Hertz, a C2 is just over 65 Hertz, a C1 is just over 32 Hertz, a C0 is just over 16 Hertz.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piano_key_frequencies
Based on a halving the frequency on each octave, that would put a C-1 at 8, a C-2 at 4, C-3 at 2 and a C-4 at 1.
He is awesome, so talented to the extreme!! Great arrangements, great voice, so many octaves, and yes, that was all him!
If you like this one, you'll love his cover of Headless Horseman.
I just wanted to say how much I loved your reaction!....especially when you said "no no....I gotta hear that again....I can't add what everyone has already said....so I would just listen to what the fans are sending you...you can't be disappointed...
Please see his cover of Take me home, contry roads or The Headless Horseman! This two are a must watch ones!
Geoff is the man! My favourite for sure!
His bass is butter smooth, and has that awesome velvet feel. I've heard deeper, but none so entrancing. Geoff is hypnotic, and magical.
"What just happened?" That would be fall down the rabbit hole called Voice Play
When he sings walk the line it’s my favourite part of the song it just goes straight through your body
You HAVE to hear Geoff Castellucci version of Black Bird It is just Perfection 🥰😍🤩
The near instantaneous transition from "let's jump right in." to "I wasn't ready." gave me a good chuckle.
right!? haha!
Geoff has his own channel. I would recommend any song on it.
oh god i love your reaction to this so much. you are adorable!! ♥
6:20 I need to explore myself
Not a click bait thumbnail.
Geoff is the gold standard for deep bass singing. He actually sings when hitting these low notes. He should be heard everywhere!
I love Geoff’s voice so much. Low voices like his just make me melt.
Geoff is a master of his craft! All his music is golden!
Geoff has an amazing voice(singing and talking). On his channel he has some POE readings and things that are fabulous also.🥰
Some of his best are „High and Dry“ and „black bird“. I think you‘ll love them both alot.🔥
Well Said!!!
I love it when people react to Geoff and get blown away from his comfortable range. You gotta pace yourself with Geoff.
Also you should listen to him talk.
The range he's singing in in the beginning is his normal talking range.
He’s got a 5 octave range
If you loved this, you’ll drool at his newest work. “Misty Mountains”
YESS, you actually reacted to him
Thank you for this! I knew I couldn't be the only one this happened to.
I always had a soft spot for low voices but Geoff's voice is something else entirely. I totally fell in love with this voice 😍
Relationship Goal: Find someone who looks at you the way Lara looks at Geoff.
And no... I'm not related (as far as I know) to Geoff :-)
Wait till you hear “High and Dry” or “Blackbird” by him lol. You’re gonna have to change clothes.....respectfully
Geoff is part of an acapella band called Voiceplay. They have a cover of the Oogie Boogie song in which he is the lead vocalist. You might want to check it out, but fair warning: You might faint
If you like deep bass voices you should also listen to Misty Mountains with Peter Hollens and Tim Foust
What a voice!! And what a informed entertaining reactor, you're such a lovely character!
Check out Oogie Boogie's Song
..
He just has to sing to a woman to make them fall in love with him.
Omg, you are blushing up a storm there
If you love this level of bass you need to react to Home Free (they are also acapella). “Man of constant sorrow” and/or “Do you hear what I hear” are awesome.
"low voices are my very very weak spot"
You and every other woman.
The low notes he hits when singing oogie boogies song with the rest of VoicePlay is absolutely amazing
I have never had so much fun watching a vocal reaction! You are awesome, and yes, Geoff definitely is too! 👏👏👏👏👏
Yes that is him singing all those different sections. He's actually a Opera singing and has his own a capella group. You can find them on You Tube.
Creative competition is going to be insane for humans in the future. I love him and super talented artists like him!
I always love watching these types of videos bc basses until just recently haven’t gotten much love and as a freshman bass/Russian bass I can’t help but smile
"I need to go do some exploring". Haha!
I wonder why he changed the words from if the right one dont get you the left one will ? To if the left one dont get you the right one will.
Gal you are like the inner me when it comes to reactions. Low voices are just chef's kiss. Awesome video!
Your reaction is absolutely honest and heartfelt. Priceless. I've forwarded this to all of my friends and you probably have a dozen new subscribers. Keep up the good work and thank you! Blessings from Kansas~
Aw Thanks so much!
@@VoxTapeStudios I must tell you that I've watched this video more than 40 times and that may be a low count. Whenever I need an honest pick-me-up, I watch this! Thanks for making my day again and again! Blessings from Kansas~
A guy here and I also love deep voice and Geoff is amazing! you should also check out Crystal River Boys - Rainbow of Love, starts nice and easy but it's worth it in the end
