That’s an incredibile job, just of my thought, when you install the new chip and you turn on the phone, does it goes on recovery mode and you can just install a clean version of IOS with iTunes or you need to flash the unity with specific software ?

Why you removed the nand with cnc, why not just with heat ?
Direct heating and disassembly requires a temperature above 500 degrees. If the temperature is too high, it will damage the motherboard. But only medium temperature is required during installation, so why do I always do it this way. Convenient.

@@kingsener But lets assume the whole reason I want to upgrade my 12 to a 16 next season is to bump up my storage. The 12 is arguably a great phone still. I've replaced the battery recently under Apple Care, so it could serve me well for another 3-4 years. I'm wondering the cost advantage of performing a memory swap like this vs buying a new phone with more storage (trade-in value applied).
I believe ProRes was restricted on 128 to 4k30. Was that fixed?

I tryed this useing a heatgun to remove the chip but now the phone won't boot.
That's why I use CNC to physically remove the chip. The temperature needs to reach 500 degrees to remove with a hot air gun. High temperature will affect the function. When installing, just use a medium temperature of 250 degrees, which will have less impact.
