We love doing a 4 step shadow system. 1. I do, you watch 2. I do, you help 3. You do, I help 4. You do I watch.

Sure. This is where you have the experienced camera operator train a new operator by providing hands-on guidance and instruction. The experienced operator will communicate the necessary skills and techniques for the new operator to succeed in their role.

Love this. Thanks for sharing. Your methods resonate with me as this is what we currently do on my team at Church. I also give each volunteer the opportunity to lead the team each week; So all I do as the leader is passed on to the "Leader of the week". I do this to help create a sense of ownership and build character. I also do this to observe their strengths and weaknesses.
