I have the same 2.7 engine in a 2023 Silverado and love it... No problems at all with 10k miles on it. The sound I got use to after a while of ownership. The truck sounds like the small diesel engine while idling. You really only hear the motor under Excelleration. I have no regrets with mine.😁
Thanks for the note. Totally agree. I am at a point where I really just buy what I need and then make it what I want over time. That way I can also make sure it's done correctly. Have a great week!
My new 2024 I leaking from the same area, they already replaced the oil pan at 230 miles, I just hit 300 miles and noticed it leaking again! Had the truck for 16 days 7 of them it was at the dealership being repaired! I’m hoping they can get me in a different truck.
Does your start stop feature work? I have a 24' 1500 Elevation and it works intermittently. I hate the feature so i turn it off, but it should still work as it should.. so strange.
Good luck to you. The same situation happened to me I bought a brand new Ford Bronco at the time off the showroom floor, years ago and the dealer tried to fix it. It leaked oil from day one Ford never did get it right. Anyway, I wish you luck I would sell it or trade it or have GM give you a Lifetime Warranty on their product that will take some work on your part for sure..again good luck.
Thanks for the note and sorry to hear about the Bronco. I'm actually in the middle of a buy-back request between GMC and my BBB rep. We'll see what happens. Still like the truck a lot, but prefer one without a major factory defect. Trucks have become way to expensive to not expect them to be perfect (or close to it.) Have a great week!
Thanks for the note. I've not seem much of anything for the 2024 model year, but if you have the 2023 (with the older interior), there are several kits you can purchase, both black or carbon fiber. Here's an example. www.amazon.com/Fewshaw-Dashboard-Combination-2019-2023-Silverado/dp/B0BN77BWMQ/ref=sr_1_9?crid=20KRUUJI9193P&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.00t6faIqo2suNtEEdwBPUnbN_wtPVZznKaREdTzyl7zEzZkOEM78qSamiayi4X1M2nRlYfF5PKeJLY_BwoAgQyAr7hwrN86u0e4JLXSI9EMPbf4Cw8Fy3YDwPKSji0zMFzGpbG7_oKtVk4cfz4cJ6fy3J6b9Tux7BrSK7pC-3SAOcTzkNrTU1-gBesG4y9rtopE8S8lfl0T8LQcRH5kbojPwwDV0QN0gRBRuMAQyWDrTStGBYI9kldgIYOnREM8XOgtLy14LgDbMfkV5391iyIBUy0m19XgQBpi3brvAqvs.XQoGR6zhBYsvwjRNbJmERzUCyKDVElvxHJWjOhY5bdo&dib_tag=se&keywords=interior%2Bblack%2Bout%2Bfor%2B2024%2Bgmc%2Bsierra%2B1500&qid=1715727992&replacementKeywords=interior%2Bblack%2Bout%2Bfor%2B2024%2Bsierra&sprefix=interior%2Bblack%2Bout%2Bfor%2B2024%2Bgmc%2Bsierra%2B1500%2Caps%2C141&sr=8-9&vehicle=1966-48-16227------------&vehicleName=1966%2BGMC%2B1500&th=1
I've had two consecutive chevy 1500's. I drove the first truck 240 K miles, original engine. My current 2009 has 84K miles (I'm retired so I only drive about 4K miles/year now). Both engines had chronic main seal leaks. My experience is the main seal lasts about 20K miles. In 2016 I was told the main seal was leaking again. I declined the repair. I'm still driving the truck without incident. I recently had the truck serviced at a chevy dealer. Again I was told about the leak. I declined the repair again. The leak has not gotten any worse and it doesn't leak enough to need oil added between oil changes. Both truck engines are 5.3L v-8's. It sounds like your 2.7L engine had a much more serve leak than either of my engines. I can only say that 34 years of experience driving chevy's had proven to me that if the engine doesn't leak, then there's no oil in the engine.
Yes...hopefully there will be a software fix soon. My wife has a 2020 BMW X3 that also has similar issues. Not sure if it's a GM issue or just an Apple CarPlay issue. We'll see. Have a great week!
I enjoyed your video. especially the steps. I will get those for my GMC. Mine is the graphic edition. The rear doors are smaller than yours. Are you going to change out the interior lights to LED'S? I am very impressed with the power that little turbo max 2.7 engine puts out. I only have 3000 miles on mine so no problems yet.
Thanks for the note. I just tinted the windows and plan on switching out the exterior rear lights to LEDs (strangely it comes with factory halogen lighting for the tail lights.) Have even considered the Rough Country 3.5" lift to really change it up a bit, but we'll see. Letting the truck grow on me first before making any really significant changes. Have a great week!
My bluetooth stopped working. Cant connect any phone now. Dunno bout any other thing like wifi or usb. Ill test those out but bluetooth is gone. Gonna call the dealer. Its still under warranty.......
Thanks for the question. The engine seems to be fine. The only downside has been the sound it makes. From the interior of the truck, the closest thing I can think of to describe it is turbo charged sewing machine. It has plenty of power and it’s very smooth on the highway, but the sound is just not inspirational. But functionally, it seems solid. These 2.7L Turbomax trucks come with a 100K powertrain warranty, so that helps provide some comfort that it may last.
The engine is very well made. Cams, crank all that jazz is tough. I know of one at 206k miles that pulls a 7400lbs camper around the USA full time. It had had no issues but a brake sensor replaced. Engine and transmission is still going strong.
Wish I could say it’s better…but I average 17-18MPG in the city and around 21MPG on the highway. I expected better, but have not seen much so far. Have a great day!
Where was the engine made ? Look on your window sticker it tells you on the bottom right. I have a 22 refresh custom trail boss with the 2.7 and haven’t had any issues my truck, engine and transmission were all made in the U.S.A. In Indiana. Odd to see that on a brand new vehicle. But if it was made in Mexico maybe that’s why. Good luck.
Thanks for the note. Engine and truck assembled in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Very odd to see this type of manufacturing defect, but it appears to be extremely rare. Outside of that issue, the rest of the truck has been pretty flawless. Have a great week!
Oh my goodness, I feel bad for you. That is not something you want on a new vehicle. I would trade it after a major repair like that. I feel that it will never gat back to new.
Thanks for the note. We'll see what happens. I'm working through the issue with GMC Customer Relations. It's a long process, but hopefully with a positive result. Love the truck otherwise. Have a great week!
I think they owe you a new truck vs. a truck that was factory built then rebuilt at the dealership. (Oil leak) I don't think it will ever be quite the same. Any manufacturer can mess up a seal at the factory so it's not a GM thing. Once the engine or trans has to be removed and parts taken off, it's not new.
Thanks for the note. I tend to agree. Once they get in there (at the dealership) and start removing almost all of the drivetrain, like you said, it's no longer new. We'll see what happens in my case. I'm working on this with GMC Customer Relations. It's a long process, but hopefully with a positive outcome. Have a great week!
Thanks for the note. Yes...the 2.7L Turbo can be a bit to stomach, but surprisingly, it's a good motor. Sounds aside...it actually makes the truck feel strangely light and nimble. Plenty of power, and outside of the defect from the factory, has worked well. We'll see how time treats this platform, but it's been fine so far. Have a great week!

i just bought a 2021 2.7 silverado. is there a big difference between yours and mine?
mine doesn't squeak or rattle anywhere at all. Where was yours manufactured?
this is why I get the lower trim truck without all those extra trim pieces .. just find over time all that stuff fades and or rattles
Thanks for the note. Totally agree. I am at a point where I really just buy what I need and then make it what I want over time. That way I can also make sure it's done correctly. Have a great week!

I had radio and apple carplay issues for the first six months I had the truck but the last six months have been flawless. (Knock on wood)
Any ideas on how to get rid o the chrome accents in the dash? it grills my eyes at daylight.

Same CarPlay issue on my 2023 Tahoe. Not as often as yours but it does happen from time to time.

I have similar connection issues with my 24 Silverado using Android Auto, FYI. Guessing it's an infotainment issue.
How's the engine holding up?

i have same truck 2024 i drove it from bayarea to bakersfield i spend 1/2 tank $60.00 full tank 120.00 is 310 miles trip
@@saulsanchez3316 Not bad for a truck 🤷🏽♂️

Wow, sorry to hear the problems.. seems all the brands are doing this. Seems to be on purpose at this point.
Nice rig, but I can't stomach the turbo's or afm motors

I’m a die hard Toyota for almost 4+ decades and they’re no better than anyone these days. Stay away from the new tundra’s…
CHEVY😂🤣
Junk engine!!😢😢😢
What problems have you experienced?
Lawnmower engine!!
That performs better and makes a lot more torque than the 5.3 v8.
