There is not enough money in the world for how much I would pay for a PR character action game a la DMC or Bayonetta. ACTUAL combos, both ground and air, weapon switching, maybe even character switching mid-combo in place of style swapping, it would be amazing
That would be so cool man. We have a really good fighting game in battle for the grid and now all I need is a character action game for power rangers or super sentai, I wish either franchise got more video games
And, if you wanna go the extra mile, maybe the unmorphed fights could make use of freeflow combat and the Megazord fights could play like Armored Core.
If you want a power rangers game with deep and fun combat, give Super Legends a fair shot on emulator as this guy doesn't give the game a fair shot. Him saying the game is just mashing a button is just cause that's all he does, and also you can take enemies off the ground with certain attacks which he didn't mention. When you grasp the combat it's actually amazing, though the base moveset is a little bland, animation cancelling between aerial and ground combos, block cancelling blaster shots and dash cancelling knockbacks and juggling enemies is amazing, and if you have a partner the combos get even crazier. There really aren't any demonstrations of this level of play online that I can find, probably because it's so obscure cause it's not hard to play at that level. But if you want some kind of demonstration I can upload a combo video or something.
One thing you missed about Dino Thunder GameCube game: Once you complete the game, you can play as the Wild Force and Ninja Storm Zords, though only the individual Zords and only on their specific missions. The GBA game also echoed the original Sentai in that the White Ranger was evil up until the end of the game, rather than join the team halfway through like in the show. The SPD game is also the only one of the games that actually follows the plot of the show, with each level based on an episode of the first quarter of the season. EDIT: Also, the MMPR Rangers were unlockable in Megaforce, with JYB indeed voicing MMPR Black.
Technically Ninja Storm follows the story (such as the episode where the Thunder Rangers get abducted etc) but SPD also does... Samurai also follows the show as well but it's the first 10 episodes.
i remember when me & my brothers unlocked them and we were just HYPED, it wasn't much, just 3 empty maps with some missions, but it was just awesome for us back in the day
All eras of course? If I'm k o ing 1000 guys a level it can't all be Putties. I need some Cogs or Tengu because I can't be hearing that gobbling noise non stop XD
@@AgentofLADON i mean they can start by doing mighty morphing untill the in space just to test and experiment how the game would be. Then they can do the other eras in sequels
I remember being *so* jealous that Genesis owners got Tommy and the Dragonzord. Then I got a chance to actually play it at a friend's house and realized that we SNES folks had it better.
Well the game was based on shattered grid but heres the difference between the game and the comic. In the comic Draken was so obsessed with the fact that why is Tommy Oliver the greatest ranger and even friend to them. He not only kill every Tommy Oliver in the multiverse but rewrote reality to the point Rita was his mom, zordon was his dad, and crueger was his pet husky. He ruled the world and helping it until Tommy starts to appear in reflections saying its a fantasy world he created and comes back thanks to the grid and bring back the rangers to restore reality
If I was gonna say which ranger shocked me to see in the main roster that would be Kat Manx SPD Kat ranger. I love Kat, she's an underrated character and her ranger form but in lore she only can morph once due to a one hour disposable morpher. Shame because I love kat ranger
Dino Thunder was the first game I got with my PS2 for what I think was my 9th birthday. Didn't have a memory card at the time so I saw those Tar Pits a LOT.
these videos have got me entertained and got me back to watching Power Rangers again most of the series was on Netflix at one point before a few years ago they took it all down and only left a couple
The GameCube Dino Thunder Game, Timeforce and Ninja storm GBA combo games were my FAVORITE growing up! Loved watching this and seeing all of these games I never seen before tho.
@@Vykerocha No it's specifically based on Japanese tokusatsu primarily Sentai The creators were forced to put "inspired by Saban's Power Rangers" because Saban deemed that the project was infringing on their copyright despite devs telling them it is not
@@temple475Is based on both. The creators are from Brazil and In Brazil we had both Sentai and Power Rangers on Television. The sixth is called Thammy and we have a lot of other references of Power Rangers, like the brain being literally a Knock-Off Zordon and other things.

Glad Beats of Power and It’s Morphin’ Time got mentions! Fun fact about Beats of Power: you can map the controls for all 4 players to the same keys, so you can control 4 Rangers at once with one player! Makes that annoying cave level a little easier lol
Mobile game you missed, Power Rangers Mighty Force. A game where the Mighty Morphin team recruits Rangers from across the multiverse to fight Rita. And the combat is a turn based system, but dont let that fool you into thibking the game is worth your time. Easiest way to describe it: Adventure Capitalist with a Power Rangers theme, occasional boss fights that happen automatically (as in no player input), and after each boss, all you your stock resets to zero.
I did too! All I could remember was that the plot were that certain monsters escaped their containment cards They used the exact same sprite for each Ranger just recolored. (Though they do call each other by their first name, instead of just Blue Ranger or Red Ranger, which I kinda liked) There was a Swat Mode upgrade, and if you got a certain amount of some power up you get to play as Jack in his Battleizer, no matter what color you were. Also for some reason the console itself used Mighty Morphin despite it being SPD……. Yeah it was kinda odd
For anyone interested in battle for the grid, please get the Super edition of the game, it includes almost all the DLC, except for 3 characters that were released after the super edition was made, and it is cheaper than getting the game and DLC individually, the only characters missing are Adam as the black ninja ranger, Poisandra (I think that is her name) from Dino Charge, and Rita. And yes, that includes the Street fighter crossover characters. The game also features crossplay and cross progression so you can play online with your friends regardless of platform. And it has a great online system that has little to no lag
Having a base knowledge of those comics is essential to have a context on what the Battle of the Grid story mode is based on, as its a loose adaptation of Shattered Grid.
DUDE that Dino thunder game was something else.. I legit never finished it especially during the Black Ranger lord missions lmao. this game is such an acid trip looking back at it. wasn't particularly good, but genuinely one of my favorite memories
with me i beat it, me and my brothers had a lot of fun with it, the Brachyozord missions were pretty lame but they could have been worse, for kid me back then i was more just psyched to see it, and comparing how big it was tot he other Dino Zords, simpler times
The Dino Thunder game sucked yeah…….. but it has a special place in my heart, it was one of the very first video games I ever played. My older sister was the one who picked it when my dad bought my GameCube
Apparently, the lead producer of the Super Robot Wars games worked on Mega Battle, which is one of the reasons why the Dino Megazord made it into SRW Cross Omega.
There's some pretty good tabletop games too! I def recommend checking out Heroes of the Grid and the Deckbuilding game, assuming you're someone who enjoys board games at all
I am shocked that power rangers never ventured in the stratagy rpg genre (ala fire emblem or disgaea), it is the type of story that lends itself heavily to that style of gameplay. (I know chroma squad did it and it was amazing). They really missed a trick with that.
As you talk about how Battle for the Grid is an example of what Power Rangers can be if it took itself seriously, yeah, that's how the comics are, which shows on how the game adapted them. The story of the comics is amazing, and a real treat for Power Rangers fans. Plus, in the last season of the series, Cosmic Fury, that seriousness did shine through a bit, as they did it with a totally original story not following a Sentai series at all, other than the Zord designs, and it even connected with the comics as a comic-exclusive Ranger makes a cameo close to the end. It still has some of it's goofiness, but the story way more serious and it doesn't follow the monster of the week format, so it is really refreshing and good. I does give me hope the new saga of series might be really great
You are putting off wildforce just to hurt me personally. Im waiting to see my love alyssa and her ranger suit which is my favorite suit from any series
My favorite thing about Battle for the Grid is that when they added Eric Myers to the game, his release trailer had references to Vergil from Devil May Cry since they're played by the same actor, Dan Southworth. Namely the lines "Foolishness, Lord Zedd" and "I need more quantum power."
You skipped Time Force on GBC? That one’s actually decent. Natsume made it, and it was very much a throwback to their Jetman game for Famicom. I’m pretty sure that game in turn used the same engine as Shatterhand/Solbrein, which is fitting since Solbrein was also a toku series.
If you really need a Power Rangers game fix I'd highly recommend Chroma Squad. It's an Indie game love letter to Tokusatsu like Super Sentai and Power Rangers. It's an SRPG with a fun story and lots of customization.
I loved playing Time Force & SPD on GBA & Samurai on DS -fun fact: There’s “cheat” codes in Samurai DS like making the Deker boss fight harder & play with the mega mode outfits
There’s also this one Dino Thunder game I remember on I’d assume the GBA (I’m assuming because the DS had a slot for gameboy games, and that’s how I played it) from what I remember it was a below average platformer with button mashing zord fights, although I remember having fun though. There were these odd sections were you had to connect parts of a street to make a path for Tommy to walk along.
Oh yes power Rangers video games they were of a simpler time although the only games I played were and let me see if I can remember this right: The Lightspeed rescue game on the gameboy color. A dumb lightspeed rescue computer game, A time Force PlayStation one game where I remember fondly that by the time I got to a megazoid section the game would crash the minute the monster went big, That led into I think there was a power ranger's time Force gameboy advanced game or a gameboy color game and finally Power Rangers Dino Thunder on PS2, The game that immediately had me go wait a minute a lot of the characters aren't voiced by their actual actors and all we're doing is being the megazords and have very very horrible platforming sections....... And ninja storm zords are randomly here lol.
There was a Power Rangers in Space game on Fox Kids. It was a flash game where you play as Andros or T.J. The other Rangers are infected and are turning into those bug creatures and you have to find a cure. Red Ranger to the Rescue.
Hey Conner - it was so awesome to meet you in person at Morphicon!! Appreciate you stopping to take a selfie with us. Shameless plug 😃 but I used PMC as a springboard to start my own PR channel. Working on some content for the pipeline, but the intro video is up. Stay tuned!
Hey, Conner. Love this video. I didn't know you were so big a Power Rangers fan. I just wanted to point out there's a way to fight Ivan Ooze in The Fighting Edition. It's like a cheat code, but really cool to pit him against Lord Zedd. Also, there are a couple of apps that you missed. One was called Power Rangers Legends. Came out around the 20th anniversary. As far as I remember, had a swiping mechanic and no idle mechanic. I remember spending an entire night just playing it. The other is an idle game I downloaded last week called Mighty Force. Takes too much time, but rewarding after waiting.
There is a new Power Rangers mobile game out right now too: Power Rangers Mighty Force. It's weird tho, it's one part Idle Game, one part Turn Based RPG
You forgot there was a power rangers time force game for PC. Where you play as all 5 rangers who get there own mission. You beat all 5 levels/ missions you unlock the quantum ranger and you can replay the levels as him.
Good video by the way, but a couple of things to mention 1. You missed the Power Rangers Time Force game on GBC. 2. Mike has the element of Wood, not Wind. 3. Not only Yuri Lowenthan, but for Super Legends they got other well known VAs like Nolan North, Steve Blum, and Keith Ferguson. Super Megaforce also had Bryce Papenbrook, Patrick Seitz, and Sam Reigel. 4. To answer about Trini in Battle for the Grid, The Black Dragon was another villain from the comics, whom after defeat, Trini turned into power armor.
I played the dino thunder game a lot growing up, you get to unlock the other zords and change the arms for the megazord fights and always thought that was cool. You can also get other zords like the falcon zord from ninja storm or red lion from wild force. Also if you're ever wanting to do more games I highly recommend Wonderful 101, its not a PR game but its very much a love letter to super sentai as a whole.
I'm a little sad that you didn't talk more about the SPD game for Gameboy. All of the rangers get to use their powers in combat or terrain navigation except for Bridge who uses his powers for unique collection levels. It's got some cool levels in-between with zords and megazord fights. The finale is the best part where you play as the Shadow Ranger who can dispatch enemies with a single hit and has to go through the 100 Krybot gauntlet before fighting the final boss.
There was a Plug and Play SPD game that I loved playing as a kid. Each ranger had their own story following one of the episodes, there were side scrolling platform/beatemup sections, driving motorcycles through New Tech City, and a Megazord fight to end the story for each Ranger.
Fun fact: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Fighting Edition is a localization of a Gundam Wing fighting game on the Super Famicom called Gundam Wing: Endless Duel. Both games were developed by NatsumeAtari and both use the same exact engine. Power Rangers Zeo: Battle Racers is also a localization. The Super Famicom also had a racing game called Battle Racers, but instead of Power Rangers Zeo, it has characters from the Compati Hero series, which features Kamen Rider, Ultraman and Gundam.
New subscriber! One of the worst memories of my childhood is spending my Christmas money on the N64 version of Lightspeed Rescue. I'm still traumatized from the shock of how shitty that game is.
I can sympathize. I spent like 2 months of my allowance on Superman 64 that was in a bargain bin at ToysRUs. You and I had no money and a heart full of disappointment.
The only Power Rangers game I grew up playing was Dino Thunder on GBA and I absolutely loved it. Dino Thunder and Samurai are my favorite seasons and while I will never play the console Dino Thunder, this video really makes me want to get the Wii Samurai game to see what I was missing.
ditto here on that Dino Thunder one legit i would love to see some sort of fan made remake, i know it's chances of existing are absolutely ZERO, but picture what you could do with the concept, maybe have the missing Dinozords (Ankylo, Stego & the white 1 which i don't think is a Dragon at all) as playables, maybe have the Blizard Zords as a boss or something and maybe even secret playables
I really liked the Powers Rangers’ inclusion in the Nickelodeon browser games from 2013-2017. It really felt like a big reunion between the Power Rangers & the Ninja Turtles when they crossovered with each other in both the TMNT Vs PP games, and it was funny seeing a Power Ranger crossover with a Nickelodeon IP like SpongeBob or the Thundermans.
For not official power rangers game, i recommend legends of heropolis dx and chroma squad. Those two are really fun and want to hear your opinions about it whether we agree or disagree.
53:09 I think Nick is just an exception. I unlocked all the rangers in that game without scanning keys. There IS overlap between rangers; some rangers play effectively the same as others, or they only have one difference in their moves. Nick just stands out as a quirky character with the way he shoots those fiery orbs.
By the way, the devs who are working on Power Rangers: It's Morphin Time are almost done working on their Avengers beat em up game as well called "Avengers United Battle Force".
Great vid, I remember playing a power rangers game with my brother it was a beat me up style and one stage was fighting ontop of a moving train but don't remember it's name or which rangers you could play as, because remember always picking the pink or yellow ranger
Even though you only played the US Power Rangers games, in Japan there were Sentai games such as Hurricanger (Ninja Storm) on the PS1. It's kind of like a 3D version of the Game Gear games in the sense that you beat up mooks and monsters in fighting game fashion, with the Megazord fights being knocking back the boss attacks and then rushing into melee them. The only drawback is that it's real short.
1:09:10 Can confirm this is probably my fave power rangers game. Definitely better than you imagined. Bit sad to hear that it was delisted though. The one time we needed a tierlist at the end, we got none.
Played the MMPR snes game as a kid all the time. The music alone is worth the play. The characters also had a single special attack with their Up + Attack. Kim used her bow, Billy did a spinning attack with his ‘Power Lance’.
2 Things: 1: Wild force on the Gameboy advance is my favorite game. I loved that you could choose what zords you used depending on what story you took. 2: have you ever tried Chroma Squad? It’s a turn based rpg with the theme of power rangers/ super senti.
Imagine my surprise just having this video on in the background and suddenly hearing Izzy lecturing you about time bonuses. Didn't know he voiced in PR.
You know what I wanna see in a _Power Rangers_ game? A spectacle fighter by either Hideki Kamiya, Hideaki Itsuno, or Platinum Games with _Armored Core_ gameplay for Megazord fights and freeflow combat for unmorphed fights.
Fun fact: The Megaforce game on 3DS is just a reskin of a Kyoryuger game on the 3DS, which explains why there's some samba music in the game

That would be so cool man. We have a really good fighting game in battle for the grid and now all I need is a character action game for power rangers or super sentai, I wish either franchise got more video games
Don't get me wrong, I may be excited for Rita's Rewind, but that sounds like the ultimate PR game
Samurai also follows the show as well but it's the first 10 episodes.
i remember when me & my brothers unlocked them and we were just HYPED, it wasn't much, just 3 empty maps with some missions, but it was just awesome for us back in the day
Am i the only one who thinks that a dynasty warriors style power rangers game would actually be really fun if done well?
All eras of course? If I'm k o ing 1000 guys a level it can't all be Putties. I need some Cogs or Tengu because I can't be hearing that gobbling noise non stop XD
In retrospect, I'm surprised we haven't gotten one... I mean we have an example in show with Doggie
@@AgentofLADON i mean they can start by doing mighty morphing untill the in space just to test and experiment how the game would be. Then they can do the other eras in sequels
@@firepuppies4086 I Know Right?!? Also every episode is a good example of how they can make a dynasty warriors type game
FYI when the first two games came out, Genesis owners would gloat that Tommy was in their version.
Didn't have a memory card at the time so I saw those Tar Pits a LOT.
ah, the time before memory cards came built into the console, what a crazy time that was
these videos have got me entertained and got me back to watching Power Rangers again most of the series was on Netflix at one point before a few years ago they took it all down and only left a couple
The entire franchise is available on TH-cam for free right now. It's how I've done my rewatches
@@EisenSMT really!?!
@@Alexmakesbrownies there’s even playlist per season so you don’t have to search episodes.

Literally me ugh 🤷♂
I LOVE THOSE GENESIS GAMES! Grew up playing them
The GameCube Dino Thunder Game, Timeforce and Ninja storm GBA combo games were my FAVORITE growing up! Loved watching this and seeing all of these games I never seen before tho.
Not a power rangers game but you should look into Chroma Squad Conner. I think you'd love it.
YES!
Chroma Squad isn't based on Power Rangers but on Super Sentai
@@temple475super sentais AND power ranger. Dude theres a character named Thamy who can be the 6th ranger.
@@Vykerocha No it's specifically based on Japanese tokusatsu primarily Sentai
The creators were forced to put "inspired by Saban's Power Rangers" because Saban deemed that the project was infringing on their copyright despite devs telling them it is not
@@temple475Is based on both. The creators are from Brazil and In Brazil we had both Sentai and Power Rangers on Television. The sixth is called Thammy and we have a lot of other references of Power Rangers, like the brain being literally a Knock-Off Zordon and other things.
You're one of the most enjoyable content creators to sit down with every month and binge your new video!
Just wanted to give you a shout out and say thanks for keeping the ranger hype alive.
Glad Beats of Power and It’s Morphin’ Time got mentions!
Fun fact about Beats of Power: you can map the controls for all 4 players to the same keys, so you can control 4 Rangers at once with one player! Makes that annoying cave level a little easier lol
I wonder if Conner will do a Weird World video for the Super Sentai series like he does for the Power Rangers. I like to hear what he thinks of them.
This has to be my favorite series of longform videos. Keep it up waffle man
The spritework in some of the early games is insanely good. Kinda makes me wish more modern games would use sprites
you're in luck with the upcoming MMPR beat-em-up being entirely sprite-based.
That picture of Billy in the SNES version of the movie game looks like it was taken from the pilot episode.
It was. From what I can remember the early merchandise was based off the characters’ pilot appearance
I’ve played it it has its own charm to it
The easiest way to describe it is it plays exactly like the Goldbergs phone game.
The only ones I've played were:
- Time Force (Game Boy Advance)
- Ninja Storm (Game Boy Advance)
- Dino Thunder (PS2)
- Battle For The Grid
I remember having a Plug n Play Game of PR: SPD
Saaaaame!!!!!
SAME!! I still got it somewhere in my old storage unit!
I did too!
All I could remember was that the plot were that certain monsters escaped their containment cards
They used the exact same sprite for each Ranger just recolored. (Though they do call each other by their first name, instead of just Blue Ranger or Red Ranger, which I kinda liked)
There was a Swat Mode upgrade, and if you got a certain amount of some power up you get to play as Jack in his Battleizer, no matter what color you were.
Highly highly highly recommend the Boom Studios comics. Would love to see you do a video on those. Especially the Shattered Grid arc.
I couldn’t even play all of it because of the game being locked behind a paywall
@@Black_Frost212 wait really? I remember playing it on my PS3 but there was no paywall or anything. Did u get it on PC?
@@lavendersaltz OH LMAO WRONG GAME! I thought you said Dino charge lmao
with me i beat it, me and my brothers had a lot of fun with it, the Brachyozord missions were pretty lame but they could have been worse, for kid me back then i was more just psyched to see it, and comparing how big it was tot he other Dino Zords, simpler times
I def recommend checking out Heroes of the Grid and the Deckbuilding game, assuming you're someone who enjoys board games at all
also I'd def recommend checking out the Boom comics, they do some pretty wild stuff with that continuity and it introduced some of my favorite ideas
Can wait for the new power rangers game
Yep
I does give me hope the new saga of series might be really great
The megazords got some megamvoes like jagger.
You are putting off wildforce just to hurt me personally. Im waiting to see my love alyssa and her ranger suit which is my favorite suit from any series
13:41 because they use a picture or screenshot from the pilot Episode 😂
That's so funny. Because they had to have an entire library of more recognizable pictures to use. But they chose the pilot
I wish there was a game where multiple people could play as an original team
I loved playing Time Force & SPD on GBA & Samurai on DS
-fun fact: There’s “cheat” codes in Samurai DS like making the Deker boss fight harder & play with the mega mode outfits
Loving the power rangers content,I hope you get to the neo-saban era cause that is the one I pretty much grew up.
Awsome video man! Love the editing. Great job dude!
Dino thunder might be short and kinda repetitive but it is still a nostalgia good time for me.
100% agreed, wasn't much but it was still a big part of peoples childhood going off other comments
hey man, i haven’t watched your channel since like 2019/2020. it’s nice to see you’re still around doing youtube.
I’d say that Sonic Colors on the DS is a better version of the game for the reason being you have more characters and a Super Sonic fight
I vaguely remember a handheld MMPR game that had cards you swipe for upgrades.. I think...? It was many many years ago
There's a brief shot of that at the very end of this video.
Oh yes power Rangers video games they were of a simpler time although the only games I played were and let me see if I can remember this right:
The Lightspeed rescue game on the gameboy color.
This video is right on time as I’m going to Morphicon 2024 this week! Who’s with me??
You forgot there was a power rangers time force game for PC. Where you play as all 5 rangers who get there own mission. You beat all 5 levels/ missions you unlock the quantum ranger and you can replay the levels as him.
Omg i haven't seen a conner the waffle video in years
Hearing your sanity chip away while explaining these games is a delight 😂
Good video by the way, but a couple of things to mention
Also if you're ever wanting to do more games I highly recommend Wonderful 101, its not a PR game but its very much a love letter to super sentai as a whole.
i only remember the drill & the buzz saw, would have been cool if you got to customize the megazord though
Battle for the Grid is fun even Legacy Wars was fun idk about the New Mobile Game tho
Is that even coming out at this point 😂

Love seeing you cover this franchise man keep it up!!
Another Power Rangers Weird World video!!!
Still feels like 2015.
The only Power Rangers game I grew up playing was Dino Thunder on GBA and I absolutely loved it. Dino Thunder and Samurai are my favorite seasons and while I will never play the console Dino Thunder, this video really makes me want to get the Wii Samurai game to see what I was missing.
ditto here on that Dino Thunder one
legit i would love to see some sort of fan made remake, i know it's chances of existing are absolutely ZERO, but picture what you could do with the concept, maybe have the missing Dinozords (Ankylo, Stego & the white 1 which i don't think is a Dragon at all) as playables, maybe have the Blizard Zords as a boss or something and maybe even secret playables
1:11:41 Wait isn't this a rom hack for Chōjin Sentai Jetman from super Sentai Japan power rangers on the NES Nice
Dino Thunder on the GameCube was my childhood.
same here bro
Glad I stuck around until the end. I'm downloading Beats of Power as I type this!
If u think about it, Super Megaforce for 3ds has 4 Tommys. MMPR green & white, Zeo red, & Turbo red
The console dino thunder game was my first experience with power rangers
It may not be good but I have a big soft spot for it
Nostalgia's powerful
Fun fact: You can play as Zords from ninja storm and wildforce on that first Dino Thunder game
you can't do MUCH but the fact the option is there is super cute
I'm very disappointed that in the Dino Thunder game they didn't get the guy who voiced Tommy, Connor, and Ethan to voice Kira, too.
"why didn't they just use the dino thunder cast"
... jdf was only in like a 5th of that season
13:42 Billy looking like the youtuber Este in that picture lmao 😂😂😂
2 Things:
1: Wild force on the Gameboy advance is my favorite game.
Damn it, Conner! You just HAD to put this video out before I got my tokusatsu video game video out
You know what I wanna see in a _Power Rangers_ game? A spectacle fighter by either Hideki Kamiya, Hideaki Itsuno, or Platinum Games with _Armored Core_ gameplay for Megazord fights and freeflow combat for unmorphed fights.
The Ninja Storm game was my first Power Rangers game.
Man, did watching its segment bring back memories.
