I also really enjoy these 'fluff' pieces. The visuals are great - keep 'em coming! There are many of us that are visual learners. Epecially when it comes to identification, there so many doppelgängers out there that it's useful you've been putting up visuals so we're all and the same page.

Great video and I have nothing to add except that you showed 2 different fish when talking about the new Pencilfish. The first pic you showed with the full body red was the Lake Amaya pencilfish, the second picture is the Cenepa Super Red. Both discovered last year but from different tributaries.
I'm also not sure about the advice to keep 8. For the Cenepa Super red, I have not been able to keep more than 4-5 males in my densely planted 15 gallon, as one will usually get killed or chased out of the tank. They are extremely aggressive and do not school at all. I honestly think they would be happier alone, or just with a female or 2. Either way keep up the great work, your videos are amazing and always deeply appreciated!!

What a nice intro ! I wondered about the Von Rio tetra when I saw them in an earlier video of yours, and I have been very interested in getting some. I am converting my heavily planted 29 gallon tank to a nano fish tank (except the 8 cory cats, but they don't bother anyone). Along with the coreys, I have 10 chili rasbora, 4 celestial pearl danio, any number of cherry shrimp and two furcata rainbows. The furcata rainbows don't bother the small fish at all, much to my surprise.
I really enjoy the nano fish. In your experience, how many Von Rio tetra do you think is safe to add to the tank? I change at least 5-6 gallons of water weekly in the tank and test the water 2 X a month. I know it would be an educated guess for you, but I'd like your input.
Thank you for the great videos. I haven't been able to catch your live streams for a while, much to my dismay. I'm usually working. Bless your heart, and thank you again for all you do. All my best to Laura too! xo

I have a planted 30 gallon tank with lots of excess filtration(tidal 55 packed with media, and two medium sponge filters).
I have 18 luminatus with 10 Venezuelan corydoras and a juvenile Bn pleco(he will get a new home as he gets bigger).
Loads of ramshorn and trumpet snails, and a handful of nerites.
Wondering if you think I could add some other nano with them, maybe 10-12 at the most.
There are plants and floating logs up top with lots of driftwood, plants and hides on the bottom.
Would this be too many fish?
I do a 50 percent water change every two weeks, and top up evaporated water weekly.

Cheers! And best of luck... just remeber get enough fish that they can socialize properly... tiny fish make nearly no waste load. Also you can try and get 2 or 3 species that all use either the top bottom or middle water...one snail or some shrimp that occupy a cleaning role and left over food eating role.
