Hey Dan!! Instead of having to get up on a ladder to block the glare, you should hang something black on something with rollers, that way you can move it as needed and not have to keep moving and going up and down a ladder. Just a suggestion.

Wow Dan! You saw Roseline Sharks at Capital Aquarium! I am in Sac and Capital was SOOO great! I got into the hobby in the 1960s and used to go to Capital in it's original location on Capital avenue when the owner, Grant had a pet Otter!

HI Dan, The super red kribs I got from you are on another batch of babies. The first batch are almost full grown, they are fantastic, as colored up as their mom and dad. The parents had several failure batches of babies but this latest batch now have their spots so they are doing well. I thought I'd pass some along to my LFS but they are so fun I can't let them go. Just moved the big babies to the 55g.
0:36 you should ask if the breeder outcrosses his 0:36 (EB Dempsey), or if they cull really heavily. I think that makes a huge difference in how hardy they are.
They must have good genes as they are super hardy.

Those drape fin pencil fish would be very fun in a tank with head standers! One always at a diagonal facing up, the other at a diagonal looking down.

i was talking to the guy that dives with balzini, he said even in hobby they certainly need the cooler temps or they will waste away, i thought we got them acclimated over the years, but this guy is very solid so idk.
i love them, they do get a large protrusion coming from the head but not quite the golf ball style of other cichlids......you got awesome stuff man

Do you have any idea on the green leaf shrimps' scientific name? Or where they come from? They look kind if similar to some Australian species
We're not completely sure on that, but we believe they might be Caridina typus, the Australian Amano Shrimp.

Not every discus is a show discus. Lots of folks still find them pretty.
Wild type with a proper cylindrical shape will always win, but it’s nice that the hobby allows for tank raised varieties to alleviate pressure on the wild populations.
