Prices in Australia are wildly different from the EU. Zebra plecos cost around £80-100 at 1-2inch and I purchased Dark knight rams at £28 each at my LFS.
@@thijsdemeyer9049 that's unfortunately why fish(and other) are so expensive here in aus.. we have very strict biodiversity (if that's the right word) import restrictions, very necessary to protect native species and habitats 👍
The fish trade is alot different over there. The Farwello catfish at my local fish store are $9 for full grown ones. And the super red are worth alot more than the blue eyed here.
My favorite fish by far are any kind of plecos. I like koi too and have recent taken my endeavor with electric yellow cichlids. That’s actually quite successful because I unintentionally seem to have about 8 fry swimming around from the two that paired up. They’ve got personality. I want to get blue phantom plecos because they’re just gorgeous but they’re harder to keep alive at least when I was a beginner. I hope to be able to retain them in the future
What a great video mate! I’m happy for ya, you can see how hard you work and how dedicated you are . You have so much interesting content coming out all the time. Get a nap. Great work!!!!
I can agree that a beer at the bar (here in Massachusetts usa,) is about $8-12. But I'm searching for some of these fish and if they are in stock and available, prices are about 10-15% less here. yes that is for adult fish, not just fry. Very interesting in the average price differences and especially fish availability.
Whooow, I am really very surprised how expensive some fish are traded in Australia! In Germany, for example, L201 costs around € 30-40, larger animals around € 80, L046, € 60-100, L134, ~€ 60, Golden Longfin Ancistrus around € 10, normal colored animals around € 8. The "Black Rams" cost around € 10 per animal in Germany.
I always enjoy your knowledge and videos. You need to stop paying attention so much to what others think or say. Guess that comes with age. Have confidence in yourself. Love the videos. Keep up the great work.
The fish in Australia are wild. I live in Sydney and it’s hard to find any nice fish less than 20 dollars. Corydoras are also wildly priced here, sterbais are hard for under 30 and we have some species here that are over 100.
only driftwood should be used in tank or normal wood will also be fine?seller charge huge with tht drift wood name here in my area.nice video as always.
"Normal" wood is also fine. But you should make sure to treat the wood before placing it into your aquarium though. Most people tend to boil the wood they pick up in the forest or so to make sure that any bacteria/fungus etc gets destroyed.
when you first started selling fish did you actually have some like business number ecc. or did you just get into shops and ask if they were willing to buy your fish? how do you think someone could sell fish without having too much "legal trouble"? (I've been watching your videos for quite some time and I think they're really nice and informative so keep on going!!)
Wow fish are indeed expensive in Australia! You and Justin must be killing it in sales of the black celestial rams!! L134s we can get her 3-4cm $60 each in the u.s , great video thanks for the price comparison🙂👍🏻
Hello, I have questions I’m new to the whole breeding fish thing. My question 🙋♂️ is can blue rams and gold rams mix and do you think that’s a good ideas 💡? I live in the states.
Yes, you can mix every ram (microgeophagus) colour. The question is why you wanted to do that. If it's just for the looks/to increase the colour pattern in your tank, I can totally relate to that. But if you think you'll be able to sell crazy looking fry, that's most likely a big no. If you mix different colour strains with each other, it's likely for the fry to look more like the wildtype again. And most wildtypes are more on the boring-looking end of the colour spectrum.
Honestly just looked up “my top 10 most expensive” and found this video. Honestly just wanted to find someone talkings about something cool their interested in and I definitely found it

Interesting...I'm in FL and have a beautiful blue eyed, lemon longfin bristlenose pleco, but he's getting aggressive with my corydoras collection. My friend who works at a lfs sent me a pic of a columbian zebra pleco and I'm trading him my lemon longfin for that on Monday. I know he'll have a great home, bit sad to see him go.
