There are alot of dieses that can effect a cat and new ones cropping up that can change the behaviour of a wild animal. In the UK we don't have big predators like in the US but I love wildlife and wouldn't want to see something so beautiful destroyed but even I understand that this cat was not normal in its behaviour the fact it's so willing to approach a home and threaten like that it's not normal behaviour for something so illusive normally.
I wish somebody would say exactly where this occurred so people know. Every news article & story fails to say where this is. SW of Calgary is a pretty vague description. Journalists - Who-What-Where-Why & How!
Not likely. There is something wrong with this couger. I grew up in a rural area. These cats will sit in tree lines and watch humans. It was obviously not hungry as it would have taken the cat with it. I know you feel sorry for the cougar, but a sick cougar is extremely dangerous to humans.
No.. the family's house and neighborhood sprang up smack dab inside the cougars hunting territory. The cougar isn't looking for territory; he's in his territory. YOU ARE IN HIS TERRITORY FOLKS! He's not looking for anything.. they are using the hunting grounds that are always theirs.. which the spread of cancer known as the White Supremacists human population STOLE HIS HABITAT.
If animal activists will defend the right of animals to hunt other creatures including humans, then by the same token, humans have the absolute right and mandatory responsibility to defend themselves and their human family members against those animals.
If you leave a pet outside in, they become food for wildlife. I never let my cats out on their own or let them roam. They can be picked up by hawks, eagles, coyotes, and in some areas, other animals. Yes, there is probably something wrong with this cougar but we need to be aware our domestic pets can be helpless against wildlife.
It is very weird behavior, it has already killed something to eat and did not drag the cat to bushes to eat and yet it is trying to attack people inside of house. Some posters are saying it appears to be injured, perhaps this was done by another rabid creature and now itself is in furious rabies stage.
So many experts on animal behavior. I'm glad Cory has learned to live with wildlife. This is fear mongering at it's worst. Giant cat? How about cougar kitten. Dangerous to humans? Really. Aggressive? It's a fear snarl. Have you seen a wolf snarl? Not aggression but a submissive grin. It"s confused, hungry, and lost it's mother. Now has to figure things out. This is typical young cat behavior when abandoned by mom either intentionally or she was killed. What do I know having a behavioral science background, observing predators in the wild, and also having experience with cougars and the damage they can do on a large sheep farm next to a provincial park in BC interior.
I'm not defending the cougar, but if you notice, it doesn't look up at the woman who is filming, it also apparently can't see the child because at one point the woman tells the child to continue to stay away. I think the cougar is seeing its own reflection. Again, not defending the cougar, which is clearly dangerous, but I think that's what is happening.
When the cougar spotted the small child it dropped the dead cat and began clawing at the glass in attempt to get to the toddler, which it probably prefer to eat in place of the cat.
Funny you never said anything about trying to scare it off... Let the animal know they are not welcome... Family showing they're video taping probably feed too... Scare them off ffs
Revelation 6:8 “And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, AND WITH THE BEASTS OF THE EARTH..." Watch your backs folks, the earth is responding to man's abusive indulgence...
Poor Oreo. Poor family.
If you live in these areas you need to be able to defend yourself - no question. This cougar is young and dangerous and has to be removed.
Calgary has a mountain lion that killed a family cat, while in the U.S. immigrants are eating family pets.
God Bless Oreo! ❤❤❤

Awww....poor baby ❤ 🙏 ❤ 🙏 RIP Oreo 😢
In the Okanagan cougars walk around the perimeter of homes in the forest That animal seems to be distressed for some reason unusual
they want an election to be called, probably
Really? You're the cat whisperer?
Both of the cougars at the Calgary zoo died this year of old age.... Perhaps there is an opening for this animal and a "safe" home.

Young cougar looking for it's own hunting territory. I'd say about a year and a half old.

What you are saying is common sence, it's got to be put down...
correct
People suffer from " Disney Syndrome".
It's sad but people have to come first. If the cougar is sick it could spread it to the other cougars and we don't want that either.

they should not have named their cat Oreo

That cougar is grossly skinny.. to many humans encroaching on its territory.
The wild is a hard place to live. I hope they show compassion in this tough time.
Poor cat 😢
What about seeing if the zoo could assist?
That cougars back foot is injured.
i think it killed the kitty because it was jealous... the cougar stuck around to show that he is the new kitty on the block

Poor kitty.
Not sure but it looks like this cougar is injured it’s left back foot, looks funny in the door picture
Good call yeah it looks a little messed up
Blood
@@ladyjade6446 yup and not from the dead cat
It's tail is covering It's foot and the black tip of the tail makes it look bloodied
I won't be sharing this video with my girlfriend...
It looks to me that this cougar has been injured...perhaps caught in a leg trap. Look at his left hind paw!
I think it was blood from the cat.
Wouldn't be any leg hold traps set out this time of year for any reason (legally)
The tail is obscurring the leg so it doesn't look right.
ALWAYS HAVE DAINTY GLASS DOORS IN HOUSE WHEN LIVING IN THE COUNTRY.
😂
Can't understand why this cat is acting like this, maybe it's sick.
I’m live right by them and I am very good friends with them so I’m scared cause I am on the bus with them so stay safe
Wow. This is scary. I wonder if it’s rabid?
The cougar is acting like Canadians will be soon
Hunting season on cougar???
That cougar looks like it’s from Haiti
No you do not have to put it down move it to another location ..................... No wonder the world is so troubled and corrupted
0:16, Tiffany?!
0:25, oh that.
Wow

bang
So wildlife encroaching on your space.
but why is the cougar coming to homes ? Is it our fault ? THe fires ? lack of food? Lets find out the reason instead of just destruction.
Simba is bad
Cats are an invasive animal the world over, cougars are not .
Stop letting your cats out to roam anywhere they want.
At least the birds are safe now.
That’s what you came up with? You’re glad the cat is dead? Get some help.
@@garywagner2466poor Gary's feelings are hurt.
I live in the country. A stray cat adopted us 2 years ago. Brought him in and he hasn't been outside since.
