it sound like you have a loose duct in the crawlspace. I'm basing that off the fact that you said it was "cold" in the crawlspace. anytime the crawlspace has an abnormal temp it indicates a loose duct
I do what it takes to diagnose the issue. Luckily I never been in any crawspace other then low pitch roofs where the heat is right above you and roofing nails inches away from your head😂 I’ve seen filter dryers installed backwards as well.
I would walk away from a shit install like that. That install would never pass inspection in my state. They should have ducted to a closet upstairs or added one and installed a counterflow furnace or ducted outdoors to a package unit. That was a who did it and ran job! Wait until it floods in the crawspace and takes everything out in the middle of winter.
I do not think there is anything wrong with the txv. its not odd to see superheats around 20 copeland even says that 20 degrees of super heat at the compressor is optimal for cooling the compressor and not getting flooded
Honestly aside from its positioning it's really common in the south to find air handlers in the crawl space. I had one today where it's a few months old, but the sunk pump in the crawl wasn't working so it flooded under the home, half the furnace was submerged. System still turns on and activates cool mode however the ecm is fried now because the whole bell housing was submerged under water 🤣
What happens when the heat goes out If you have to remove the flue to get to the unit? I'd tell them they have to move the unit or I couldn't cover their service for heating.
My answer is down, mixing all the air. Unexcessible. However mayb unit is undersized and doesn't make it on a hot humid day.? I,ve installed drier backwards b4 inadvertently and it doesn't show any adverse operation. I would have probably balanced the air flow.
@@AB_HVAC really I thought you were 18 but nope you are 3 years older than me I really want to be part of the hvac industry I want to know how to get there.also do you like or not
I love the industry, I started off as a duct runner and installing systems un hotels, after about a year of that and some residential installs I went to try and be a service tech (I did all that while going to community college for HVAC until COVID F'd it up for me). I love the company I work for, no company is perfect though. Honestly just jump right in, keep your mouth shut unless you have a question, watch the older guys, and do your own learning on the side
Crawl spaces!! Hell no!!!! Good job as always AB! Nice watch promo😅
that filter drier is causing a small restriction since it's backwards, that's why your numbers are off
It's amazing how things have been running for years even when it's put in wrong
good video keep up the good work
🙏🏽 thank you

There definitely was some leakage but nothing completely disconnected. Just notated it on our end

I mean yeah that's what we are supposed to do but not everybody does it
@@AB_HVAC if I was working for someone then sure, I’d pass that work order but since I’m on my own I usually go above and beyond expectation lol
@richlikeg3722 c9mpletely understandable

If it's working that well in the summer, I would have done what you did... on to the next one. (what a mess the air handler was under the house)

@@AB_HVAC Jeez... LOL!
I’m so sick of bs like that at this point I’d just walk away.
Installers never seem to think about service
Just like automotive design engineers dont think about techs who have to tear apart a vehicle just to change a simple part

Aye I get it, I notated it's inability to be properly and safely serviced.

Is it truly mixing the air though if I'm just shoving warm air down onto the cool air which is already low to the floor where the return is?
@@AB_HVACnice video man by the way how old are you

That coil looks backwards? Data tag is upside down. Made a v coil instead an a coil
Very interesting
You say Baker app?
Baker app or baker distributors.
Hell no!
🤣 that thing was installed pretty oddly
