This is perfect. Thanks so much. Our AC is killing us… over $500 a month in the summer. We looked into splits and were quoted around 9K for two units installed. To be fair, the HVAC person who gave us the quote uses high quality splits that have lLong term warranties and can be repaired. He advised against your brand and those like it because they may not be repairable. But heck, if we were to get three years use out of one and replace it ourselves, and did that every few years, we’d still be way ahead.

Now u can sell the minisplit, & spring for some 8 ft deep ground tubing circulating pump flowing water/glycol fluid around a loop and through a car radiator with its car fan (12 volt electric). Ground tubing run maybe 500 ft length grid loop. Will give 55-60°F. Then if u keep Mr Cool, it just for bumping from 55°F to the comfy 70-ish.

I need a second charge controller. My solar is putting 300 to 320 watts into my 400 watt air conditioner. I have a 300ah Ampere Time and 2000w inverter for power outages. I decided to run my AC from it on sunny days this year and my bill went way down. I`m gonna get a 30 amp Victron with easy LiFeP04 settings and another 200w solar panel. I have a few extra panels to go with one. I already have the extra wiring because I`m switching out the 10 gauge MC4 and small charge controller cables to larger ones (if they fit).

I have been considering this unit for my home . The installation looks simple enough and straight-forward .
The price for this particular MrCool 12K model is around $1750 USD . There are also other brands available
that start at around $499 . Seems like the energy savings will pay for itself in a short amount of time.
No mention of where the MrCool units are manufactured .

I don't understand why some people are leaving disparaging remarks about an infomercial or sponsorships.
A lot of these companies are smaller than they rely upon channels like this to showcase their products.
I would never think that you could run an AC off of solar.
It's up to each individual whether they believe the person or not but I wouldn't be subscribed to you if I thought you were liars.
I'm also not mad that you got it for free.
You have like 50,000 subscribers and that can reach a lot of people people with like-minded interests.

I appreciate that Scott......there is definitely a huge misunderstanding from some folks about the whole YT world. Without these awesome companies sponsoring smaller channels like ours, there wouldn't be a channel, it's simple. Without our subscribers there wouldn't be a channel......most folks understand how it works...but the 2% that don't get it are not something I worry too much about. We appreciate you my friend and thanks for being one of the good ones here. Really appreciate Jen and yourself doing these videos Jay. I built a semi portable solar system with the idea of moving to upper Michigan in about 8yrs, I can fold it up and load it in about half hr with my wife's help. Would really appreciate if after a winter you doing another update on how this mini split is working out for you. My wife and myself are Subscribed and really enjoying you guys can do spirit.

It takes a few minutes to get heat going; AC comes on faster. Build a snow shield over the outdoor unit. It doesn’t work with snow blowing into or blocking the unit.

For HVAC which usually draws a lot, that unit is reasonable in its power consumption. You both worked well together on that installation. Thank you for the walk-through.👍🏾

Ok guys, I just found you. YT algorithm showed you in my feed. I've seen many videos of off-grid people, but I found that they seem too professional and they seem to cater to their sponsors. Your way of saying things are to my easy to understand, and your honesty shines through. I will believe anything you say over those other "experts" subscribed and looking forward for new videos.

Cool air is definitely helpful for senior citizens. As we get older we need to stay comfortable to the end. Also check on the elderly in high temperature days.

Think back then yall were thinking something on the line of, yeah right! Be sure to let Russell know how well it is working. And, that he owes you 10.00 dollars 😂. See ya on the next video.

Pretty K👀L DiY Unit. I was wondering if the outside heat pump would still work ok located under the deck mainly for weather protection and Im thinking going up through the floor of the cabin & mounting the inside unit near the floor may make for an easier install IDK.

I was thinking of the same thing for our place, glad to see your video. I will be curious the long-term effect on your power storage if you think you might need more storage since you will run this unit more as time goes on. BTW, hope the skeeters are not as bad by you as they are here in Northern WI. Brutal is all I can say.
