      Jesus that sounds so much more terrifying than simply being chewed out by Gordon. Especially the ''Do not upset me again'', that's some Darth Vader shit right there.

      @@LeafMusic05 I don't think you understand the concept and the work these people put in it to get there. This is not just some restaurant, people pay for the level of standard they get here. You wouldn't quit it because you wouldn't be there in the first place, because it's not for you. And that's perfectly fine.

      Also he had a cushy job being a head chef at someone else’s restaurant also a share holder of that restaurant making 150-200k a year in the late 90s.. quit there when they fired one of his chefs and all the other chefs followed him into his new first restaurant. All in this documentary called “Boiling Point”. Very interesting to see Gordon Ramsay build something out of the mud and seeing how stressful and all the roadblocks he had to get through in the rise to his stardom, also get to see his lighter side after service with his crew here and there

    1 star means the food is very good and to a very high standard, worth a visit. 2 Stars means it is worth a detour and the food is top of the line. 3 stars means the food doesn't get any better and it is worth planning a special trip to eat there.
    So as other have said he already had 2 stars and was gunning for the third, so something like this that sticks out as a sore thumb ( pun intended) might well mean he won't get the 3rd Star if they have the misfortune of having a Michelin Guide Inspector there that night. Those people will not let anything slide and nothing short of absolute perfection warrants the 3rd star.
    Given that Ramsay put all cards on the table with his first restaurant ( sink or swim, there is no safety net) and that he's got a very short temper when one of his employees screws up that waiter can be glad he didn't get his head ripped off.

    A waiter generally has no business handling food to where dropping a bandaid into the food is a risk. He pretty much just handles plates, moving them around, serving them to customers. Not a lot of chance to drop something like that into food. If it were a cook, okay, but customers don't tend to see cooks. The people who eat at high end restaurants do notice things like that and critics do mark them down for it. As to everything else you said in three posts, I'll just say "OK" :)

"Mate, take off the plaster and get one from the first aid kit". Job finished. Why did no-one think of implementing first aid kits in the 90s in the restaurant business?

    @therealmcnulty I know he was a waiter, but you should still wear a blue plaster even if you're working on the floor because if it fell onto the food it is still visible. Also I did not appreciate being called a "dumb shit" that was just unacceptable & really wasn't necessary.

    You right all those preparing food should wear blue plasters to allow identification under the food standards agency guidelines, this does not nessaserly mean front of house staff though and i would agree its great to included everyone as a "foodhandler" but abit unnessasery. Usally just the chefs, KP's and possibly the M'd on the pass.

      At this point, Gordon’s restaurant had only 2 Michelin stars. He was trying to do what many thought was nearly impossible, win 3 stars as a British chef, basically seeking perfection. That’s where the anger comes from, something as minute as a blue plaster could’ve completely screwed him out of getting that third star.

He's invested millions and millons of pounds worth into building his culinary empire from the ground up. He runs the kitchen like a military unit. No holds barred! He must be strict in order to get them to work to the best of their ability. He might be very outspoken but have you seen Kitchen Nightmares, some of those people he deals with shouldn't be in a kitchen fullstop.

      Band-Aides in kitchen medical kits are usually blue, and in the UK, I believe, mandatory. But yes, if Ramsey wanted the servers to have skin colored plasters available, he should have made sure they were available. It is not a waiters responsibility to purchase his own plasters, or even to remind their supervisor to do so. If Gordon wanted to blame someone, he should have blamed whoever was in charge of purchasing for the med-kits, not the waiter.

    @TheCusterCat Incorrect. Bullying is treating people like they are worthless for the shere enjoyment of it. If you had anything resembling a brain in your head then you'd realize Ramsay doesn't do that. He treats people who do well in his kitchen good. It's those who fuck up who get the bad mouth, and he does it because he wants them to do better. In other words, he's fair. Also he was a success long before I started watching him. And I'll like whoever I damn well please, thanks:)

    • @fordhouse8b
      @fordhouse8b ปีที่แล้ว

      But the WAITER didn’t fuck up. He used what management had provided, and his only alternative would have been to leave work to purchase his own plasters, or to not cover his wound. Not covering your wound in a foodservice environment would be illegal and unacceptable, and requiring him to purchase his own first aid supplies for work would be ludicrous. It was management who was responsible for the fuckup, and Gordon Ramsey, as the owner and chef, was the main person responsible for the management of his restaurant.
