You obviously have NEVER worked in a restaurant kitchen. My relatives have had years of experience in working in kitchens and they say the stress is unbelievable. My relatives who've worked in kitchens for years still say they "are very surprised no ones been murdered in a kitchen" tempers get that bad.
Alright- let me put it into perspective for you. You go to a restaurant and they have these large blue glass bottles that they serve you water out of. You’re not in the best seating in the restaurant, not one with a good view of anything other than the kitchen. But at least it’s good in a sense that you get to see your food coming as you have a directly line of sight to the kitchen. Imagine that you see your waiter grab a blue glass bottle from the kitchen and serve you some water before handing you the menus and informing them that he’ll be back to take your order in just a few minutes. You watch him go back to the kitchen, and just before coming back out, you watch him drink from one of those blue bottles- one very similar to the one he just brought you. You think “oh did he drink out of our bottle of water before we were seated?” And are immediately repulsed. This is what happened at that restaurant. He wasn’t drinking out of his personal water bottle- which in and of itself is something that shouldn’t be done in front of the customer in the first place- HE DRANK OUT OF CUSTOMER WATER, in front of the customer. These restaurants use carafes- he drank out of a carafe meant to be put at customer’s tables to be drank in front of the customers themselves. The fact that he only accepted partial blame is disgusting.

No music nor trying to make it overdramatic. Just pure hell from Gordon Ramsey
Wait, he got fired because customers saw him drink water? Am I missing something?
The waiter was drinking straight from the bottle that he was using to serve the customers. Das nasty.
@@Caelomonepoeia Okay this I can understand, I though he got fired from just drinking water, if it was from the bottle that he serve the customer then I can understand why Gordon got mad
@Kachow I guess we need more context. If there were still tasks to do and he wasn't rushing his drink, then yeah, he's a lazy bugger.
@@Caelomonepoeia No, lol. He was drinking from a bottle in front of customers you don't do that you drink behind somewhere where they cant see you. Imagine a Michelin star judge coming in and seeing a waiter chug a bottle of water in view while eating, that is not acceptable. He did not drink out of a bottle of water that he was serving with come on.
@@williamperry5767 no
hell's kitchen is lightweight compared to this. shit was lit back then.
Sips water*
Gordon: ohh hell fucking No!
They're the restaurant managers. Basically they're in charge of making bookings, making sure the service in the dining room is running smoothly & overlooking the waiters doing their jobs properly plus doing the stock take & so on. Overall it's a big responsibility in the dining room. Really that maitre'd should've done his duty knowing how to work the air conditioning before the restaurant opened so I can see why Gordon was pissed off with him.
When you've been bollocking people so long, you develop your own accent
he has such an alpha dog aura, that even the boy who just got fired can't help but still love the man.
I felt bad for the last guy
What drinking bootle of water with his mouth then serving the same bottle to the customers 😅
Nice recommendation after 10 years.
The truth is, this goes on ALL the time in kitchens all over the world.
Ok
Imagine Gordon's face if you just walk back inside through the front door after getting sacked but this time as a customer.
500 a week? Man give me that job
500 a week in 1997, that shit is a lot
Jack Davenports voice overs are elite
These guys work on a different level. They know the rules :)
Narrator: 11 o' clock and astonishingly no one has been sacked yet.
Gordon - (pissed at a waiter): Standing in front of the fucking glass, drinking fucking water, in front of all the customers! FUCK OFF!!
Narrator: Well maybe one...
lool.
Gordon: BSing a customer when the cook messed up.
Also Gordon: Firing a waiter for drinking water in in front of the kitchen door
He's a mad man! th-cam.com/video/Mz_01tjBwAE/w-d-xo.html
he wasnt a cook he was the assistant wine waiter
500$ a week during the 90s
Gordon is the type of person, you can best admire from afar. The people that laught at his insults would be cursing him if they were at the victim's place
I know the US never ever asked for a BBC America ffs
Keep that sort of thing to yourself Kez
@@georgem3197 huh?
Doesn't matter who you are, get personal on me like that and I'm like; "Hehe ok boi bye" .
then you won't be able to work any serious job ever
Imagine getting fired for drinking water ☠️
imagine working at a luxury restaurant and not knowing to fuck off to drink water somewhere else where customers can't see it. people working in a local fast food spots know better to not to do such shit.
@@mr.jx5n324 fast food workers? man I swear to god people like you could never come to Italy. I worked in many pizza places here as a pizza maker and we never used gloves, always drank whenever and wherever we felt like drinking, and a bunch of other stuff that would make people from other countries like the US recoil in horror.
It just so happens that here we (and our customers too) value the food itself over everything else, except in very fine dining places. Which is coincidentally why we also have the best food in the world.
@@check4v cam you explain me a bit more why drinking water for them is not allowedvOr in plain sight ? Is it becoz then ppl will also want to frink water and move on intends of whole chicked and wine ?

LMAO His highest boiling point in 2007 is so small. Look at him now xD

Man comment from 10 years ago kinda feels weird
That happened to me in Vegas , I looked trough the kitchen window and a cook was eating food and it was falling out of his mouth. While cooking my meal. It was Buggsys and Myers at flamingo.
seems like when Gordon was big and fat, well, puffy... he was going through a sort of "right of passage" criticising everyone, yet judging only, himself. ...A necessary step in anyones career. Necessary for him to run his many restaurants, as he does. Utmost respect!
Dang one of the oldest comments and no one replied

Yes, that too but also because its the bottle being used to serve water to customers.
'Drinking from a bottle of water, straight from the mouth'... from what orifice do you normally drink, Gordon?
He just means he didn’t put it in a cup
Who puts water from a bottle into a fucking cup... thats why its in a bottle.
@@Karadaun Read this from another comment, but apparently the bottle was meant to pour water for customers.
@@Karadaun It just looks trashy and is bad etiquette. Restaurants can be some of the worst places to work in, especially if your boss is a dick. Fucking so glad im out.
