Hey guys we're aspiring Film Makers chasing our dreams (inspired by Casey ofc) and we'd love for you to check out a moving short film we made called "Fly" dedicated to our hardworking mothers and for you to give us feedback what to improve etc.
There's an extremely easy way for TH-cam to look after and keep creators aware of changes, MAKE A VIDEO. They have the platform for it, so why doesn't TH-cam use their own platform and just simply make a video to explain any changes they're about to make?
In the beginning it reminded me of an ancient mystical thing called a daily vlog when I was very little my pa told me a story about them once. It's amazing what past times held.

Communication is vital. Miscommunication or lack of it most of the time has caused great wars, accidents, and other kinds of troubles. TH-cam should start communicating with us, and pay closer attention to creators, to prevent something devastating from happening, not for us, but for them. We love TH-cam, we just want them to reciprocate.
youtube and google is so huge, that's why they never bother listening to it's community. True that this monopoly is not permanent, but I think they are in control of this monopoly.
The problem is that without YT the creators will struggle to find a platform. It will be harder but possible to continue our work. But without the creators, YT is NOTHING. Dead.
Maybe it's some weird commitment thing. Like if he commits to doing it, it'll start to feel forced. But if he says he won't, he'll end up doing it anyway because he loves it, with no pressure of commitment. I dunno, just a theory :)

Michael Tube The difference is that starting a site like TH-cam is extremely expensive. Google STILL loses over a billion dollars a year on it. The only people/companies that can start a competing site would have to have very deep pockets.
Yeah social media sites seem pretty easy to take over the market share with compared to this monster of youtube. There would have to be some new form of revolutionary technology that google couldnt keep up with for youtube to shut down
technically... the "1st day of spring" from this v-log (3/20), now paired with today's (3/21) v-log "second day of spring" may be Casey hinting at a return. He should do another one now through end of summer. Those were some of his best moments running all over the country and NYC ;)
Ehhh, not really. His older videos from way back before he started vlogging were much better, and vastly more memorable. I found him around the time he made the Bike Lanes video, and videos like that really show off what he can do. The only video I've seen so far recently of his that comes close to his older videos, would definitely be the Vietnam Handbook. We need more videos like those.
I get what you're saying, but i'm more interested in his life than i am in his bigger productions. I'm stuck in small town canada, so seeing him travel and live in new york is my escape.
This is what I love about Casey. He has the courage to step up and say the things a lot of us wouldn't say publicly. He's not afraid to admit when he thinks someone messed up, or something could be done better. Truly is one of the best in his class. I've been trying to be as transparent with my audience as possible, and it's really made a difference. You grow a lot faster when people to to know the real you.

Couldn't have said it any better. The reason i also feel like youtube doesnt do anything and feels like they can change things without repercussions IS because there is no competitor to youtube that has that community aspect and can be a viable platform for creative content. But I believe soon there might be one, and once there is competition TH-cam will have to start listening to us and doing a better job at understanding our needs or else the platform will begin to die all together.

YoutTube recently ran a program called Next Up Where they picked 10 creators in the U.S. and flew them to the TH-cam Space in NY. I was one of the creators picked, and I met a ton of people who work at TH-cam and they were are all incredible. I always feel so torn when TH-cam (the site) does this kind of bullshit like the restricted feature, because I know the people in company are real and genuine people and would never intentional alienate a whole group of people. So I agree with you & Phil they really just need to work on communication.
Seriously, if you are going to have such a significant feature that has definitive lines drawn in the sand in regards to whats okay, YOU NEED TO TELL PEOPLE.

You should watch it, it's called "TH-cam Flew Me To New York" and my views are down because I just switched from sketch comedy to daily vlogs! And if you've been on TH-cam long enough you should know a genre switch is terrible for a channel. But it's also worth making big moves on this site
Dear TH-cam, Please Please create your own channel on this platform to inform creators such as Casey and many other. At this day and age it is imperative that you as a company push this platform forward creating a sense of community between all creators before another company comes along and does it better than you just like Casey said. I really hope you read this as with out this community, without these creators. As a result you as a company would not be succeeding like you are now and your young creators will move away from you. I am a Creator. I was informed months ago that Cards would replace Annotations eventually, so I stopped using them & started to use Cards instead. Then a few days ago, I had a Notification in the Creator Studio with the precise timing when Annotations would end and a link to the official blog post explaining everything. I don't feel like this change came as a surprise. Reading one's infos in the Creator Studio and reading TH-cam's blog surely helps. And then if you have more than 1000 subs you can also attend so-called Creator Days in your nearest TH-cam Space, during which you get product updates too. And there are Online Communities, moderated by TH-cam Community Managers, in many languages, to ask all your questions. You get ALL that information if you visit your Creator Studio regularly - which you probably do anyways when you upload & tag your next video. TH-cam (and the behavior of YT viewers) evolves, just like the old versions of iOS or WhatsApp stop being supported at some point. It's evolution 😃

Casey, this notification thing would be so easy. Where all youtubeers log in, at the dashboard tab, or at any of the tabs for that matter, they could implement a ticker style white area that would be a constant reminder of upcoming changes to the platform, planned outages, reminders of delayed subscriber counts, etc. all these items would have a hyperlink that would take them to a landing page that would further in depth explain what the hell is going on. On those pages, they could collect comments for further refinement of the notification system, pretty easy if you ask me....

Literally just took clips from both cameras and cut them together
yeah some editing programs will even sync up the clips for you, based on audio or other cues, so you can just cut back and forth between the two.

YoutTube recently ran a program called Next Up Where they picked 10 creators in the U.S. and flew them to the TH-cam Space in NY. I was one of the creators picked, and I met a ton of people who work at TH-cam and they were are all incredible. I always feel so torn when TH-cam (the site) does this kind of bullshit like the restricted feature, because I know the people in company are real and genuine people and would never intentional alienate a whole group of people. So I agree with you & Phil they really just need to work on communication.
Seriously, if you are going to have such a significant feature that has definitive lines drawn in the sand in regards to whats okay, YOU NEED TO TELL PEOPLE.

Dear TH-cam,
Please Please create your own channel on this platform to inform creators such as Casey and many other. At this day and age it is imperative that you as a company push this platform forward creating a sense of community between all creators before another company comes along and does it better than you just like Casey said. I really hope you read this as with out this community, without these creators. As a result you as a company would not be succeeding like you are now and your young creators will move away from you.

I am a Creator. I was informed months ago that Cards would replace Annotations eventually, so I stopped using them & started to use Cards instead. Then a few days ago, I had a Notification in the Creator Studio with the precise timing when Annotations would end and a link to the official blog post explaining everything. I don't feel like this change came as a surprise. Reading one's infos in the Creator Studio and reading TH-cam's blog surely helps. And then if you have more than 1000 subs you can also attend so-called Creator Days in your nearest TH-cam Space, during which you get product updates too. And there are Online Communities, moderated by TH-cam Community Managers, in many languages, to ask all your questions. You get ALL that information if you visit your Creator Studio regularly - which you probably do anyways when you upload & tag your next video.
TH-cam (and the behavior of YT viewers) evolves, just like the old versions of iOS or WhatsApp stop being supported at some point. It's evolution 😃

What if Netflix created a platform
or branch that is basically TH-cam, but solves the biggest problems TH-cam has. Netflix already has HUGE influence on society and can reach insanely big audiences. TH-cam needs to watch out. Great video btw. Your opinions are always intelligent and interesting to listen to. Keep it up my dude.

Um, no, it didn't get lost. It probably got thrown out. Don't feel bad, though, because there's no possible way he can keep up with the amount of mail he must get. He hasn't done mail time in months. He probably threw out everything a week ago (or whatever) and started over.
He doesnt do a vlog anymore so the chances of it being seen on camera are slim. Doesnt mean he didnt appreciate it though!

At 3:38 the balloon is pretty flat. At 4:02 it's completely full.
Michael B. Just an idea, I could be completely wrong. But being that he just carried in the mail and it was cold outside, the balloon probably had shrunk and then expanded again once it was returned to room temperature.

Casey, this notification thing would be so easy. Where all youtubeers log in, at the dashboard tab, or at any of the tabs for that matter, they could implement a ticker style white area that would be a constant reminder of upcoming changes to the platform, planned outages, reminders of delayed subscriber counts, etc. all these items would have a hyperlink that would take them to a landing page that would further in depth explain what the hell is going on. On those pages, they could collect comments for further refinement of the notification system, pretty easy if you ask me....
