While I've never owned a Babyhawk. I always heard positive thing about it. Great review. Excellent intro/review. Great content. Thanks for keeping it "real as always."
I love the Babyhawk! I made my own O3 version not too long after the O3 came out, but this looks better. Any word on getting the TPU & frame separately for those of us who want to upgrade ourselves?
Babyhawk II HD pilot here - I couldn't wait for this so I bought the iFlight AOS 3.5 O3 BNF. It's ok, but way too heavy (it's not even under 250g) and the flight times are way too short. I'm getting this for sure! They nailed it! I can even use my huge supply of parts from the first one.
EVO is 184g dry... its not fragile.. i've smashed face first into a concrete wall at 50mph with nothing breaking, just scuffed the plastic on the o3 that sticks out slightly... its also the cleanest 3.5" frame out there as far as tuning and vibrations go... the prop wash is fine... again... stock is iFlight tune, Chris rosser has a custom tune that improves performance considerably... the baby hawk is 25g lighter, but when you realize its held together by 2 pieces of 3D print, you can't be serious that it's gonna be stronger than a reinforced carbon frame... but hey.. its your money.. if you wanna blow 500 on this frame and setup vs 540 for a EVO, thats on you... I'd never waste my money on this setup.. you are better off getting the EVO and if you hate the extra 30g you can shave the weight in various places but I have no problem hitting sub 250 with it 'stock' with a 550 R-LINE tattu. which is what i'd fly if i was worried about remote ID (park fly or somewhere unfamiliar...) but the reality is.. noone is stopping you with a 3.5" and saying oh thats 267g! here is your fine!!, thats just not gonna happen, and if it comes to that, you can run naked 03 mod if you really want to be sub 250. and if you still aren't satisfied you can start removing metal and replace with lighter materials but I would rather keep the EVO frame as is and enjoy it. To each his own...
Well, you do need to bind the receiver to your radio first. I assume you did that? I assume you got the right version for the transmitter you have? You didn't provide much information here to be helpful.
@@AlbertKimTV Yeah sorry. So I have babyhawk o3 elrs, I have DJI controller 2 and jumper tpro elrs controller both successfully binds with the o3 on babyhawk. The problem is betaflight does not recognise inputs form the ether controller.
Hey! Loved your video. Is there any way to buy the complete kit for this drone? I was looking to buy it buy in your description link I think it's only the drone, without gogles and without remote. Thank you very much for your videos!
Unfortunately, they don't sell it in an RTF kit. If you need goggles, I recommend the Integra goggles that you can get at this link... bit.ly/44ldOt3 For the remote, get the Pocket at this link... bit.ly/44QixUQ Make sure you get the ExpressLRS (ELRS) version of the Pocket and the Babyhawk O3 otherwise they won't talk to each other.
I think its better to have antenna in the front, because when you start to see rssi/lq going too low you can always turn around and be safe, having it in the back instead would get you more likely to failsafe when you try to return home? oh nvm i just watched more to the video and noticed you still meant to put it forward! just outside of the frame :)
LOL... so many people comment when they see something then stop watching the video so they miss an important part and then the comment makes no sense... you're one of the few that caught themselves...
hahah lmao i was too fast with my suggestion I somehow assumed you'd put it to the back, at first I didnt see anything wrong with the antenna placement but it was a bit inside the frame yeah@@AlbertKimTV
3.5" and the DJI O3 Air unit. Great combo for fun ripping around with awesome fpv flight footage. Not needing a gopro and no remote id is a welcome bonus. 😎
Yes, but the performance will be limited. Also your weight carrying capacity will be limited as well. Could be good for a beginner who is worried about it being too fast.
@AlbertKimTV How about handling in some light wind, so 10-12mph? My Pavo Pico really struggles. I need something small and quiet that can still take some wind.
What do you need to know that wasn't in the three videos? What are your priorities? Flight time? Freestyle performance? Carrying a GoPro? Help me out here with a basis for making a comparison, thanks.
@@BOTGRINDER fits yeah. Then there are lots of options. Im talking bnf or at least arf (almost ready to fly... quad ready to put vtx in. Instead having to buy the analoge version and ripping out the current vtx. Such a vaste)

The best babyhawk yet. Thanks for another great review!
This is the best 3.5 inch quad on the market now. All the other ones are way too heavy.
Took EMAX long enough to make this very obvious next upgrade. That being said, this looks like the best option for an O3 freestyle quad with no RID.
EVERY quad should be sub250 for no RID! I'm not even gonna consider anything else now.
It's about Time EMAX. Was about to build my own. lol Thanks for the Review Albert. keep them coming.
I learn so much from watching your videos! -Drone newbie
Glad to help and welcome to the hobby!
Amazing little quad

Thanks! 👍
I almost ordered the old one this morning… glad I waited
Whew! 😁😁😁
Emax did a great job making this, it looks good flies well and has great video quality, good job emax!
Glad you liked it!
This looks so much fun to flyz imagine freestyling it with such great video quality!
It really is!
Great job Emax, seriously checks a lot of boxes. Flies great and the image quality smooth. 😮 great review Albert 👍
Kudos EMAX!
I love the Babyhawk 2 - it's my fave drone if there's people around because it's so quiet! Nobody cares! Great to see an amazing upgrade.
Thanks for sharing
So nice!

I suspect a frame kit will come out later.
Love my babyhawk! Emax sell the parts or better yet a conversion kit so we can convert our existing ones!
good idea!

Thanks for sharing. I also heard from several other people the AOS 3.5 is just too heavy and remarkably fragile for how heavy it is. 🤷♂️
@@AlbertKimTV and frustratingly, the tune and propwash handling isn’t even as locked-in as the stock Babyhawk tune.

Did the drone work out of the box? Because I'm not getting any input data to betaflight. Do I need to do some sort of extra wiring?

Agreed, this was good but now that this has the o3 with no props in view, this is awesome
Anything with O3 should not have props in view otherwise that's a design flaw.
I'm not even going to consider any quad that is over 250g now that RID is here.
I'm dumping all my 5 inch quads but no one wants to buy them!
Is there a place I can buy it without the 03 air unit, I already have an air unit so I would like to install it
Awesome flying and review, Albert! 😃
Really great upgrade from the last one!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks 👍

Couldn't agree more!
Is it possible to add GPS module to this Babyhawk?
Probably, but it's complicated with the stock FC limited to 2 hardware UARTs.
Do u really think the upgrade from the old 02 to the 03 is worth the money? Or it isnt much or a difference.
O3 is way better
any idea if this can run on 3s? maybe run some 3s li-ion on it for long range
You can, but I'm not sure if it will have enough power to take off with that much weight.
Would you choose this over a darwinFPV drone?
DarwinFPV doesn't sell any O3 drones so I would choose the Babyhawk of course.
For some reason I thought they did. Just checked their site. Sure enough, no 03.
Thanks!
So, the darwinfpv hulk, the waterproof drone, can come with an 03 air unit. How weird is that? Doesn't compare with this one at all, though.
These are going to fly off the shelves.

Hello~ Can I use a 3-cell battery?
Yes, but the performance will be limited. Also your weight carrying capacity will be limited as well. Could be good for a beginner who is worried about it being too fast.
How is the noise level?
For a 3.5 inch, it's one of the most quiet ones out there.

What else reciever is it?
our own to go with our new transmitter as well!
EMAX ELRS RX
Could you use it as a main drone for freestyle?
Sure!
Remote ID sucks but is here to stay. Glad to see EMAX embracing sub250g quad options.
I'm in doubt between some 3.5
Could you make a comparison?
Axisfliyng Manta 3.5
Baby Hawk O3
Iflight - iH3 O3 4S
Thaaaanks!

Nah no walksnail or hdzero... Still missing a 3,5inch digital freestyle quad that is not dji... :-(
HDZERO has big time quality control problems so a lot of BNF manufacturers are waiting until quality improves.
Grinderino fits hdz and walksnail
Hdzero is garbage
