Thank you!! Like you, I decided Ready Seal was the perfect product to stain my cedar deck. However, I couldnt find real good color samples on line or even at the store!! I asked the store to wipe some stain on a test cedar plank I brought. I dont think he applied it properly, be anyway she liked the Mahogany color as well. I thought Pecan would look better. We are trying to stay away from an orange appearance. I typed Ready Seal Pecan into Yahoo and here you are! Perfect to see the true colors of the stains! Thank you so much! Will show here these tonight.....pretty sure it will be Mahogany vs. Pecan! Subscribed so I could see the end result of your project. I will be staining by mid- end next week. Great samples!

Thanks so much for the video. I saw that you could buy samples but I did not want to spend the money or time. But it was great that you made a video showing the samples. I had a cedar fence put in last month with a concrete base along the back part of my property that's along the alley. I decided to go with pecan. Something not too dark and not too light. I wanted a color that had enough pigment in it so the color would last more than a few years before it would have to be redone. Looks like you do nice detailed work.👍

    • @marioflores5949

Blues Dirt it doesn’t recommend. But everyone who actually does this for a living that I talked to recommended two coats. I can actually tell a difference between one coat vs two. So as soon I apply the second I post up another video showing the one coat after 10 months vs 2 coats.
They do recommend an application every 4 to 5 years. It depends where you live do to the amount of rain one gets.

I plan to go with a darker stain when I stain my fence again. The natural Cedar seems to fade within two years. I was told that it would be best to go with a darker stain due to the sun beating down and fading the lighter stains faster. A darker stain is said to last up to 4 plus years. I live here in Texas

@@user-bm5qk4eq8ca big issue in neighborhoods. Notice how his front fence is very short? The reason is that if everyone put up 6 ft fence it would look like some sort of military compound or imply that the area is dangerous. Very isolating feeling and not very homey feeling. As a result property values go down because the neighborhood is now undesirable. Just imagine walking down the street walking your dog or whatever and seeing nothing but fencing and the tops of houses
