    Funny how they only just recently removed the false 120ah rating off the 120x that was never a real 120ah battery it only had 105ah of cells inside and swept that dodgy rating under the rug. The new PRO version is only 120ah usable as its 20% more weight meaning its actually 120ah. They are still false claiming there battery has special bms that allows any charger to be used which is completely false. Not only have i opened the 120x and tested the bare cells but there is nothing in a bms that account for the re bulk trigger voltage points in agm chargers meaning the charger will cycle to full once then will not kick back into bulk charge again untill the voltage is at a low agm set point normally about 12.3v which means for a lithium the charger is going to let it go almost completely flat before it kicks back in. Lithium chargers should kick back into bulk if the battery drops to about 13.2-13.3v Itech make up a lot of BS to sell their gear.

I was wondering if you had done long term test of your Cranking Battery. • @drgloverable

    Fully disagree with you on re the flack that ITech has copped.
    Practically all Li batteries on the market deliver the claimed *useable* capacity... if not a tad more. The name "120X" implies 120 AH (that would meet the convention of the industry). A close look at the spec sheet would tell you, the 120X is actually rated at 105 AH. BUT then, to many customers surprise, the batteries don't even deliver that.... the norm i see is high 90's. AND that is with a BMS cut off of < 9V - which is also lower than the standard capacity test for most manufacturers, between 3.65 - 2.5V per cell (so 14.6 - 10V).

    • @robbiereddog4202
      @robbiereddog4202 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yep totally agree. Accidently fully discharged mine and just under 99 amps. Porky pies by iTech world...should call it the 100X :)

    • @ianweal3081
      @ianweal3081 ปีที่แล้ว

      I purchased fully aware of 105 amp life. Why. I was purchasing a product without any experience, so I did some research, hence read spec sheet as you should have. It was no surprise to me. The specs revealed it to have far superior initial amp draw and consistently higher amp supply than anything else in the price range at the time, hence my purchase. I needed high initial discharge to run my inverter, anything else in that price range was far less, might as well retained my AGM over those other brands.
      I'm 100% satisfied with my Itech 120X guys, never been displeased with it.
      You seriously weren't expecting it to supply anything over 100amps in a real world environment, if so you needed to purchase a greater capacity unit. ♥️ Itech product.

    • @XploringOz
      @XploringOz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hear you and that's fine. However there wouldn't be many batteries on the market that match the spec's for a unit like this at the same price point. Keeping in mind that a huge selling point for these units are the fact that it is warranted for under bonnet use.
      Haven't seen others with that, the spec's like this, the capacity and the price... not defending them, but the value for money still remains, even if the capacity for 6/7 Ah less than claimed.... 🤷‍♂️

    My 120x is down to 87ah after 12 months which is in line with many other tests I have seen. That first battery has very poor quality cells. Not to mention the deceiving marketing, calling something "120" if it only gives 95ah from new, for over discharge protection of course... lol
    Also wait until you have an issue with one of their products. Their tactics to deflect is next level. You get what you pay for. Product and customer service. Warranty duration only means something if the company is willing to uphold it.
    Latest issue with the 120x is it won't complete a full charge cycle anymore. BMS cuts off the charger when it goes from bulk into absorption. Never completes absorption or goes into float anymore. Constantly cutting off, going back into bulk, cutting off etc etc... iTech saying all normal even though I have tested with two Victron charger and a Redarc BCDC and supplied a video. All good according to them. Nothing to worry about.

    • @XploringOz
      @XploringOz  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sorry to hear that and I'm not going to stand here and defend iTechWorld, they need to provide warranty in line with consumer law.
      This being said, I can only review from my experience as this is what I know and test and so far, it's working very well... albeit the slightly faster cycle life degradation.
      Further, I'd be interested if you could point me in the direction of the many other tests, would love to read some 👍

    i disagree there's plenty of other batteries including cheaper lithium's that put out their claimed capacity, and comparing to agm's is apples and oranges, the flak was warranted but good to see they've listened to the market.

      That's fair enough I guess, but can we also take into consideration the warranty time and process (Australian distributer) and whether or not these others lithium batteries are designed or more importantly warranted for under bonnet use?
      For me personally, the capacity, power capability and under bonnet use provide ample value for money for my setup.
      I'm more than happy to test other brands, are you able to point me in the right direction to these numbers companies that can compare, apples to apples?

      @@XploringOzHi Nathan, I'd absolutely love to see you do a comparison on other products, I'd be curious to see how they measured up in the real world, at least you know the 120X does comply with Itech's specs from your initial & 12 months reviews.
      I'm a Itech 120X owner whom did purchase off of spec sheet, not model number. Benefit of reading spec sheet was it revealed the 120X had greater initial amp draw and consistently higher amp draw than any other price compatible unit at the time of my purchase. I've always been amused that a model no. could be so interpreted, how does anyone compare like to like without reading specs. So like your work mate.

      No. Itech do manufacturer a Starter/Winch battery. From Memory it's model no. is CA1420 Pro but look at their site to confirm.
      That specific battery is 100% designed to crank.

      This being said, other viewers here have used them in that capacity without problems.

      @XploringOz  ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Hey guys, I'm sorry you all feel this way. I'm disappointed that you think that I'm 'paid' or 'incentivised' to provide this information.
      This video is just that, it's information. I paid for my 120X like everyone else and conducted tests and was impressed by the value for money, not necessarily the capacity.
      I've had numerous products cause issues, which have been spoken about in videos before. My 120X isn't perfect either (video to be released in the near future) this being said, it has performed very well in my setup.
      If you guys need that extra 20Ah capacity, then I agree the 120X and it's 'claimed' power isn't going to be the battery for you. This is exactly why I do these types of videos, to provide that information to everyone here.
      I don't try to hide the fact that I have received a limited number of products from companies and although everyone is quick to through mud at the information from this content, without these companies, there would be fewer reviews like this.
      As you could probably imagine, I can't justify spending an additional $1000 on a battery that provides 33Ah more than the one I already purchased. But with the help of companies like iTechWorld, not only can I independently test and provide the most accurate information possible I can also push these products to the verge of, of even past the breaking point, knowing that it's not my $1000 spent.
      It goes without saying that if this battery fails in any way coming up in the future, I will without doubt post a follow up video (without the permissions of the company) and this is the risk that these companies take by sending these products to reviewers.
      @Michael George - mate, some influences are paid a lot of money for endorsements, I don't receive a cent from iTechWorld for the video or for affiliate sales. I accept the product, I review it and release my findings. I don't take a single viewers as 'stupid' and I'm disappointed that you would categorise this channel into that group of 'influencers'.

      As for being expensive, hmm.
      Prior to purchasing mine I read the Specs of many comparable batteries, that's how you compare like for like (not a model number), the Itech 120X won hands down, nothing else compared in price for benefits.
      The initial amp draw & continuous amp supply far exceeded anything else in similar price range at my time of purchase. For my use, that was the winning issue, suited inverter use for high draw items. Provided you have a good recharge, total amps isn't an issue, draw is.
