Michelin X-Ice is some of the best winter tires you can get and the hiphi still strugles. Impressive.
Yeah, X ice is the line they sell in canadian tire. Claiming it best you can get for something offered by a sales network known for selling crap is really helping the validility of the claim.
When it comes to slippery ice the weight is normally NOT a disadventage.
@@Velodynamictrucks increase the pressure /weight on the driving wheels to increase friction
@@Velodynamic maybe not when start in flat places, but it has effect when start in a hill with negative gravity, especially ice
X-ice are garbage. Falken makes some really good tires.
"designed by a kid" is the perfect description for the car
10yo boy lead designer
“Just draw all the things you think are cool” 😂
Makes sense, it will also age like milk, which I imagine is the designer's favourite drink 😂
Probably the same 5 year old that designed Tesla’s Cybertruck 😂
@@woolychewbakker5277 at least it has panels and lines that that complete a theme.. this is 5 themes and designs thrown into a blender.
HiPhi MUST implement CCS on its BEV. If not, will be a fail in EU 😢
Even CCS will not help.
It’s junk
The CCS adapter is limited to 88 kW. That’s clearly not enough. Also the handling is clumsy and complicated. Clearly a no-go.
I thought CCS2 was already mandatory for BEVs in the EU.
Makes no sense to have to use some adaptor on a new car...
“Requires you to be ninja “had me in stitches 😂
Maybe this car can see dead people. This got me 😂
With that auto steering I'd rather say it can make dead people.
Personally, I really like the spaceship look of the car. But if I were to spend that much money on a car, a CCS charging port should be a given, as should navigation, and I'd want the snow mode to leave the front motor permanently engaged below a certain speed. The rear wheels spinning and the front wheels doing nothing is just silly.
25:56 "Why there is one charge screen here and one charge screen here? May be there were two different student groups, one student group made this and another made this" 🤣🤣🤣
This has to be the funniest episode I’ve ever seen 😂😂😂😂
Thank you for put the Tesla to the snow ramp test as well! 😄
Bjorn, your reviews are so funny to watch. Please, continu to make your "Ninja" tests, those are priceless 😊 Love your sense of humour. Thank you man !
Thank you very much :)
With all the tests you already have, I think adding new ones is a slippery slope 👀
Looks like a Nissan GTR35 haha cheeky weekend with a BMW i3 and i8 😂
Honestly looks like a car from Cyberpunk! Nissan GTR front mashed with a BMW i8. And it is huge!
I have a ‘21 Model Y in 🇮🇸 they never struggle in winter ❄️ 👍
I think in China / Asia there is a hype around having dings and dongs for everything. People seem to be more attracked by noises than here in Europe. We Europeans like the silence, and don't need additional noises for no reason in our lives. Chinese manufacturers should consider this, before selling shit like this here in Europe.

i wonder how you get parts if damaged, are there hiphi repairshops anywhere except china? or do you just order the parts from wish
Anyone buying that would need to be....brave.
I love your reviews, don’t change a thing :) Your honesty and humour are priceless!!!

This looks like the doors of The Heart of Gold ship in The Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy
Amazing Cyberpunk 2077 styling. However the whole package is crazy and I can't imagine all of this tech being reliable. No CCS is game over though. When Mat Watson (CarWow) drove this car in the UK everyone was stopping to look at it but he did say avoid it as he had too many issues with it. If they fix it then buy it.
1st video im seeing. Love the commentary 😂 👌🏽
You are a very good car tester!
This car is freaking cool looking!
Tesla software for the win. Can see the way when wheel spins that on restart it's so controlled, unlike HiFi, which is more like a ICE car & stepping on the throttle.
yeah sofar i havnt seen a car like tesla that can even get up a black ice slope
As i mentioned before, as a 15yo i would have fallen in love with the HiPhi. But as a grown up man i think that some day this car will annoy you in every possible way.
You can be grow up and still keep some part of your heart as 15yo kids
@@Devilhuo Shure. But you can't ignore annoying shortcomings like my 15yo Mini-me would do.
not some day,..on the first day propably, the sounds alone gave me a headache
Love the way this man feels the vibes of the car😂😂
Open the driver door Hiphi!
I'm sorry Bjørn, I can't do this.
I'd love to see the faces of people as you drive past in that very distinctive/odd/brave/daft/wannabe machine. Great video btw as always.
Winter range test was done by auto NAF and FDM... range was 522 km, so only -6% from WLTP 555 km. Tesla M3 LR was 441 km, so -30% from WLTP 629 km. From your range numbers I cannot see the same, but would like to know why you get so different numbers for this "Beta" car, perhaps compare their test to yours. Please disregard the WLTP numbers as they are only as a (summer ) reference.
Note to the battery icon: Green color is always problematic in regards of contrast. As you said text should not have white color there, but black.
I saw these in Nanjing, China, in November last year, I was like, what is that, did they actually put this into production, yes the best conclusion is that the lead designer is a 13 years old boy. They have show rooms next to NIO, Tesla and Xpeng, in China, it's a real thing.
This test is pure comedy!😂
There is a spoiler in the back which isn't shown in the video and to missing the setup part of the LED text screen on the doors and you can also change the led light animation for the front and back
Those are the crazy features on this very car.
That hill was a mountain for the HiPhi, it was just a piece of road for the Model 3.
Thanks for sharing.
This car is interesting to look at. Best scenario seems to be if you can convince a neighbor to buy it.
yeah, like most chineese products, looks is its only selling point
The car can see dead people/ghost cars😂. Awesome 😂
Chinese taste is really very different
Yet usually with elements of copying, badly.
No really, this car targeted as rich people's big toy, rather than a car in china. Now think again do you still think this design is inadequate as a toy?
@@qihhjj44455 no idea but it would not be my style for sure... but yeah there are people who buy a purple lamborghini, so... 🤣

@@rkan2 yupp, specially BMW with the mega ugly grille and the outrageous design of the i7 monster 🤣
I think Tesla worked a lot on the power distribution and the way the car detects where the ground is less slippery so it focuses the energy there and does that many times per second. Ofc if the tyres are trash and/or the ground is just too slippery then no tech on the car can save you
yesh, teslas have individual wheel traction control
It's not even that the sound effect design is bad but also the implementation
Great comparison with the Tesla. Love my continental tires but the falken look to perform great as well.
Yeah I noticed aswell how insane good the torque control on the model3 is. We had recently unexpected snow and icerain, alot of cars got stuck on a hill and my model3 just went up like if it was dry lmao
@@kenion2166 Tesla worked a lot on that system which controls the power input to the tyres for ice surfaces. The car is intelligent enough the understand what side is more slippery so it manages the torque really well. Ofc tyres are what matters more because if your tyres are trash no torque management system would save ya. The weird looking car had good tyres so probably something else gave.
yeah, teslas have individual traction control for each wheel, it can even grip on black ice@@davout5775
You're a Comedian by Default. i just Subscribed
Looks like an interesting video game, but not recommended for real world use 😂
Unreal Tournament? :P
The HiPhi Z is amazing.
it looks amazing but as a car its awful, thats the case for most chineese products
You can activate the offroad mode in the model3 by using the S3XY buttons. Thats even better then🙌
tesla traction control is great
Gorgeous vehicle but not a fan of power door opening and other overly complicated items and features. With many new vehicles in general, there are just too many overly engineered items and features that will likely be VERY problematic as the vehicles ages. Almost all new vehicles now suffer from silly over engineering that will make owning the vehicle over the years, a completely miserable experience. This is the modern 21st first century version of planned obsolescence that will cost the owners greatly. I love your videos Bjorn as you show real world experience with these vehicles.
thats why teslas are sop perfect, they have all these cool features in the software but most mechanical things are overengineered only where they need to be like the traction control, i mean i witnessed a M3 drive up a blackice hill
Lmao I love this channel. New subscriber!!
The hi phi looks like if a BMW I 8 and a Cadillac lyriq had a baby.
I think it looks quite ugly. But still nice to see something new.
I need this car now
It's accepted in the car industry that Tesla's All Wheel Drive is one of the top 5, if not the best - it is for sure the best in its class. Even the downhill-180-degree curves going down a mountain are so easy to drive in extreme conditions - usually with a AWD, you get this immense understeering because of (usually) too stiff differentials in the front. But with Model 3, no issues at all. It is so perfect on snow and ice that it will ruin you forever for other cars under these conditions.
No such thing as "stiff differential" lol.
You are a legend
brutal looks...
HiPhi and i5 :D
You can see the drive modes at the top left corner with reverse camera.
'It's almost like it's designed by a kid' That's exactly what i was thinking, lol
Teslas Joe Mode is essential to minimize annoying sound effects .
*Tesla 5 years ahead of everyone else?*
*Imagine my surprise*
It's a Stretch BMW i3!
The car looks at the line on the side of the road for auto road holding. There was just snow when it tried to run into the ditch.
We need the slipper slope test for every card tested in winter!
im pretty sure tesla would be best in that case, it has individual traction control in each wheel it can even get grip on black ice, its amazing
Tesla has in-motor traction control. They are insanely good at grip in adverse conditions.
I'm really surprised the Tesla did so well because Texas doesn't normally have ice or snow!
Tesla has the longest experience in doing modern EVs, so it is no surprise even for a Californian company.
Tesla actualy wintertest their cars, doubt hiphi has, seems like its rushed on the market.
@@danielstefanovic2604more like low quality Chinese crap

A lithium jumpstarter will be the perfect sulotion, so small but yet so powerful👍👏
It slows down like a Toyota Driver got me XD
Cool car, I just wish it had more sound effects. 😌
Charge port on the right side 15:34
Those crazy sounds would drive me mad. Can it be switched off?
Yes, some of it.
High Five :) impressive car!
My 12 years old inner child loves the crazy HiPhi. However, i'm almost 60 - and therefore boringly rational😢
How much is a set of 22" Hakkapeliittas? 😮
What are the infra red lights at the steering wheel?
7:39 near death experience!
I think the software needs a lot of updates, cause it's not the sensors, it's the software, is not improved like tesla, and what I noticed, you don't have any Internet connection whatsoever, you have one bar of internet connection. But the car looks amazing
I come here for the humor! 😂
Does it charge now ?
Ironic that the "Hi Phi's" stereo is not very Hi Fi.
21:02 you can see mode in left top corner, weird car :D
Kids in the 80's would've loved this car. So, back to the past ... hopefully it stay's there.🤣
Reminds me of an EV6 for the external design.
6:50 Cybertruck pedestrian bridge 📐
doing a range test on a Chinese car requires you to be a freaking ninja hahahahah
15:20 when I would buy a HiPhi I would expect Hi-Fi
The car slows down in highway curves. Maybe the autopilot software is only using visual camera input? If it would use local GPS street maps it might be able to drive more confidently?
Maybe, but relying on GPS and map data would also mean that it wouldn't be able to adapt to any changes very easily. Maps are never updated live, and it can take even major companies like Google months to update road changes, even on main roads in the city or highway, and for cars to rely on that would be a disaster. For comparison, Tesla also use vision only (even on the older Model 3/Y that initially used radar in addition), and does not slow down significantly unless there is a very sharp curve for the selected speed (I believe tesla use both map data to pre-determine speed for curves, as well as vision and live g-force sensor values). Neither does the tesla usually drive you into the snow ditch as we saw in the video here, although tesla also do struggle more with snow then anything else. The HiPhi Z looks amazing, but i would simply not trust the auto-steer system on it.
@@JanErik1986You are right: Tesla is using a combination of GPS maps, overlay data and real time camera vision and sensor input. Maybe the HiPhi autopilot has access to more precise street map data for China and less precise or no street map data for auto-steering in Europe?
Looks like the side panel's are overlapping! And the front is from a gtr, how bizarre.
How the heck did the Norwegian something group rate this above Tesla M3 for getting slightly better range?
On another note, having used to a car with excellent lane keep (auto steer) and driving another without one is a bummer.
With the wheel slip, it seems to be across the board for all Chinese brand EV. With software update they can fix the power delivery on the axels, looks like Snow mode = comfort mode but in the snow
i say it again, tesla has the BEST AWD i have ever experienced and driven in snow and ice. only thing i wish tesla has is a downhill assistance that not go below 5kmh.
Among electric cars maybe.
@@martinsvensson6884electric cars can do torque control at the motor, and do so faster than an engine, so they are better overall
@@SyntheticSpy Its not faster than the brakes or a diff lock. I've seen many cars with better working 4WD systems in tests than Tesla.
@@martinsvensson6884 the only car that can compete tesla is audi rs3
As a truckdriver i want as much weight as possible on the drive wheels to get as much grip as possible.
Wouldn't the higher weight of the HiPhi give it more grip?
yes, but as a chineese product, the didnt distribute their power or atleast not well, the tesla for example has traction control on each wheel, i saw one driving up a black ice hill
Lighter in snow/ice is always better
no, you want as much grip as possible on the drive wheels, that often comes up whith trucks. why tesla was so good is the software and individual wheel teaction control/ power distribution, the hiphi just maxed looks and left everything else behind
it's missing this sound "The bluetooth device is ready to pair"
Car makes so many sounds, but you seem to be competing with the car with all the sounds you also make .... haha!! like opening and closing the trunk ... your too funny!
Great Job! and nice looking car, seems to need allot more software configuration and tweaking to make it as good as a Tesla
i dont think a bit of tweaking wil get them anywhere near where tesla is, software for teslas is also just from another dimension
In 2:12 you say it has 120 kWh battery while in the weight sheet (also visible in 4:04) you state 82 kWh. Which one is true?
@Bjørn probably needs to update the battery capacity in his Google Docs sheet
Sorry, corrected now.
26:33 net capacity from this winter test is 108.9 kWh
About the sound, especially for a car that's called "HiPhi", which is very close to "HiFi".
