Well, i can't speak for anxiety, but as far as fear of rejection goes, if your crush reallt values you and wants to be friends but doesn't think of you as anything more, it's still so much better to know than to not know, and it also gives your feelings room to grow or slowly fade. Nothing can grow if it isn't nourished. It's gonna be okay😊
I've heard it said that confidence is like a muscle. You can exercise and make it stronger. Muscles grow by repairing microtears formed when working out. Confidence grows from getting rejected a lot and moving on.
Honestly, I'm glad I don't have a crush at the moment. It was interesting when I had one, but I have so much nonsense to clear up in my own life. I feel better knowing that I don't need anyone else to make me happy.

That's the danger of looking into signs. There's only one true way to find out if your crush likes you back... by asking them out. Signs simply do not matter, anything goes with relationships.

Lol I KNOW I’m gonna get shot down by my crush, like, 1000% sure. But I’m still gonna do it. Because it’s the first time I’ve had a crush in over 15 years and not saying something is driving me crazy. I don’t expect jacksh*t from my confession, but they are by far the most interesting person I’ve come across in my entire life, and I respect them enough to be honest with them, and let them make their own informed decisions, because I feel it isn’t fair to them for me to say nothing. Will I ruin a good friendship? Possibility. But I feel like honesty is the way to go with this person. Hopefully they will still let me be a part of their life, even with this new info. But if they don’t, I will respect any and all decisions they make, and at least be thankful for the time I was friends with someone so cool.

Confessed to my best friend a few days ago that I liked her. We’ve been close for a over a year, but I told her that I’ve recently started to look at her as a potential love interest. I've been watching these videos for the past couple of days and I'm becoming more and more certain about two things:
1) I'm crushing on my friend like an ice breaker.
2) She does not have feelings for me.
I'm not sure which one is tearing me apart more, keeping quiet about it to not ruin a great friendship, or the growing realisation there is no hope for anything more. 😣
Honestly I'm still recovering from confessing to my bestfriend 2 years ago, but my advice would be to move on whatever it takes, and that you're responsible for your own happiness, even if it means confessing to her because you want things between the two of you to be clear and that you're eventually the one who needs some distance from her.

I have trauma from past relationships, so I’m learning that somebody liking me is the way it should work. I’ve had to relearn the signs that I should pursue because as a guy I’d shut those off after bad experiences with previous women.
There’s a girl who I noticed looking at me and I noticed myself looking at them. I was happy that I was still attractive, but I was also sad and scared that I was attracted to them, even tho I’ve been working on myself to be in this situation.
I asked her, but she’s a very busy person so she said yes but had to reschedule. The patience it’s taking to pursue is a toll on my anxiety, but I trust myself; I’ve worked really hard on this skill. I deserve to use what I’ve worked on

Oh man, confessing to your crush can be really nerve wrecking, especially when you are not sure how they feel about you, but I'm glad I did, twice actually hahaha know why? because I got a best friend out of it and not only that, but I can call that bestfriend my girlfriend as well. About to be 6 months in and we love every passing moment when we are together. I actually ended up asking her one day, what if I never confessed that I liked you? Would you have told me you liked me? her answer? Nope, I would have died before telling you anything hahaha (we are both big introverts) so don't be afraid to take a risk, it may lead to something great down the line 😃
I feel like I will watch stuff like this and subconsciously start doing the opposite of all these things to ensure the other person never finds out I like them…

Sadly, this is remembering me of the multiple times, that I had a crush and never asked them out. I had so many crushs on different girl and never told them and I hardly regret it. So, don't be like me and talk to the one who you have a crush on or you end up like me.
Thank goodness the advice I give is actually based somewhere. I used to be a very active advisor on the r/crushes subreddit and the advise I gave was almost always just what I thought would be right but now at least I know its actually right lol

Talk to them, about literally anything, literally anytime you can get to do so. It will help if you can pretend that you haven't been noticing them for a straight 10 years though...... See if they would be interested in talking more some other time, and try suggesting some such other time for the two of you to talk more. I know you might be shy, but there's no going around talking to them! Be interested in what they have to say, and try getting to spend more time with them, preferably one on one.
Take the opportunity. I was friends with a guy for nearly 3 years. I confessed to him to get closure. He rejected me but actually in a nice way. I ended our friendship after that but it's given me space to forgive him, get less obsessed and realise that our friendship was toxic but I didn't miss any opportunities.

I go to a big school so I only ever see him passing in the halls (which is rare). I also haven’t had any classes with him in a few years but when I did, we didn’t talk. We’re pretty much strangers to each other; I know little about him but would like to know more.

I asked my crush out but she later canceled on me. After that her behavior was a complete 180 of what it was before. I'm hoping she is just really nervous and not genuinely disinterested now. I am good friends with my crush and she is well aware that I flirt with her from time to time.
And recently during our christmas party she asked me to participate in one of the party games with her which is to dance and when the music stops we have to be standing inside the circle and the circle gets smaller as the game progresses so meaning I have to eventually carry her. However I was afraid because I don't know how to dance but as we watched the game start, I realized that none of the participants actually danced as I expected so I regret missing the opportunity of which I could've carried my crush in my arms.

Alright. I haven't seen her for almost a year now because of military service. I have a crush at my school. She’s quiet most of the time, and only talks to around two people; girls. Even then I find her just making small talk with them. But I’m the only boy or male she actually talks to. We have deep conversations, and she changes her voice and body language. We’ve had bunches of funny moments and interactions and meet-ups, and she rarely talks to me in a group; mainly only talks with me in a group when none of them care, or just when we’re, well, alone. She’s done irrational things with me that I had no idea why she did, and I never can find her more than 2 meters away from me. She always seems to be in my eyesight/proximity. I didn’t really care for her at first; but as more of those moments carried out and our interactions continued, I became infatuated with her, and just have a week or two before I’m ready to ask. And this really helps with that.

It feels like we do look at each other a bit. Wouldn't be surprised she eyes me more than I've looked over at her. Even our mutual friends don't know I'd like to go out with her. But maybe after the first date? I do find myself thinking about her from time to time, but not sure if she's the same. Even thinking about the first date sometimes.
I was the flirty one for a bit and I'm sure it worked. It was the only time I even tried it. We've had alone moments even around mutual friends. One time when I was walking home from school I saw my crush standing on the other side of the sidewalk looking in my direction. She had previously showed some signs of being interested in me. there’s this boy i like, and i want to confess or ask him out, but i also want to be friends with him and im scared of ruining our relationship. he’s a friend of a friend and im also scared that by telling him and being rejected it might ruin my other friendship, because they are much closer to each other then to me. also i tried to set up plans together cause we’re on summer break rn but he claimed to be busy the entire summer. however last time i talked to him he was super receptive and we had a convo for about 20 minutes about random stuff (i loved it). another problem is that one of my other friends possibly has her sights set on him too and i have yet to tell her how much of a crush i have on him. anyway i probably won’t text him the whole summer but i really want to ask him out.

Umm so what if they have some of these traits seemingly towards everyone, like the smiling and staring. But also I unfortunately don’t get much of a chance to speak to her ever as we work different shifts. However she is very friendly and someone who knows I like her has spoken to her many times and she has said she likes me and wants to work with me. To be exact she said 'I really like him but I looked at my schedule and im never on any shifts with him'. Obviously doesn’t necessarily mean in that way, however I have waited a long time to see if we would ever be able to work with together on a full shift. Unfortunately it seems less and less likely. To be clear, I have spoken to her on a few occasions, it’s just that we never see each other long because she usually leaves not long after I start. I hate not knowing the answer and if maybe waiting even longer is the better idea because maybe then I will get to properly talk to her. But that’s only a possibility. So it feels like I have no choice but to just ask her if she is willing to see me outside of work. (I wouldn’t ask her to be my gf or something that would be crazy). It sucks feeling hopeless in being able to talk to someone you like.
There's a guy I know who - if I didn't know better - I'd swear is flirting with me. I assume it's all in my head. Wishful thinking. Seeing what I want to see. But maybe it's genuine. I kinda hope it is. I want it to be. I usually crush on straight guys, which is safe because they're unavailable. This is the first time I've had a crush on a gay guy in damn near 20 years. Scared and nervous as hell, but at the same time - daring to allow myself to feel some hope. I don't think of myself as a particularly good guy. Not boyfriend material. Even if he asks me out, I'm tempted to warn him about myself. But also - for the first time in my life - I feel inspired to be a better person, so... I dunno.
Between this and a few others of yours - these are well-timed videos. If I drum up the courage and ask him out and he says 'yes', I may have you to thank. And then I'll have to get into therapy again so I can be the good guy he deserves.

I second-guess and get worried about everything to the point that I won't even hang out with even just my friends unless they suggest it or they start hanging out with me. So asking a crush out? WAY too difficult for me. Even if I think "Will I regret asking them?" I still get too worried to make the first move
The only people I do feel completely comfortable with making any sort of "first move" (even just hanging out or talking) is my current family. I am lucky to have such a great family, so I'll stick with them until anyone else starts making first moves

@@genevievehansen211 I don't have someone in mind, yet. I can't seem to find anyone who I actually seem to really like at the moment and it has been like that for about a year. I would consider that a good thing, though, because now I don't have to constantly worry about what the person I like might think. Nobody seems to like me right now, either. I also only really start to like someone when I have talked to them on at least a few occasions in real life face to face to the point they could be considered a friend. If I like their personality, then I like them. Since I haven't talked to anyone but my family, I don't exactly have a crush right now
Even if I did, though, I try my hardest to avoid showing any and all signs that may hint that I like someone due to being too afraid they'll start being uncomfortable around me and start hating (unless I know FOR SURE the person in question likes me). To me, it's better to only be friends than to ever risk a rejection. So maybe it would be hard for whoever I like to make the first move, too. Oh well, guess I'll be single my whole life, that's fine with me (except the money and work situation...)
