Josh literally turned on a dime here. He is obviously so consumed by anger that he is acting irrationally. He really wants Reva back but can't handle it, so he goes to extremes by being cruel to her.
There is only 82 seconds of Josh being happy to see an alive Reva before it all starts falling apart. :/ Agree that Josh is running on pure emotion here - mostly blinded by shock & anger that after being so devastated when she was gone, after spending years grieving for her - she's been alive and didn't come straight to him & the kids - and seems to be cavorting with Alan Spaulding.
Yes he jumps to conclusions and refuses to hear her out because he is angry that she didn't return straight to him and was hanging out with Alan Spaulding. He even sounds like he blames her for letting him marry Annie.

That hand on her cheek. I'm surprised he didn't just kiss her. I do think it was wrong for the writers to not let Reva let them know she was back because she would of wanted her kids. Seems out of character.
When I look back at episodes like this it reminds me why I always rooted and felt bad Annie. Reva drove that nice lady crazy and back to the bottle 😭😭😭
Omg this acting is impeccable ps I liked being a kid with these soaps but as I got older experiences of infidelity and drama 🎭 like the soaps came to life and I was the star but I didn’t get famous or paid lol
I wonder what would’ve happened if Marah hadn’t come along in the plane? My guess is after Josh got over his anger, he wouldn’t let it go and would try to find her.
There are SOOO many ways this reunion could have been written. To me (as a parent), while I understand that Josh was distracted, it's incredible that Marah was able to stow away in his car and ride hidden (& what I would guess to be unbuckled) all the way to the airport. So it seems like a plot device that makes Josh not stay any longer at the plane - and sets up the beautiful conversation between Josh & Marah later - as the two who grieved the most for Reva and are the most affected by her decision to leave without even telling them she was alive.
Looking back, this writing made no sense. What did Reva expect? She had been dead for 5 years 😂 She didn't even know she was Reva. She had amnesia. What did she expect Josh to do?
Agreed. She was great in the 80’s. The show was so good once Reva was gone 1990-1994. It forced the writers to write for everyone and not just lean on Reva/Josh.
