Why the US won't defend the philippines in case of war erupts between china and philippines in scs/wps. Even if there is an existing RP-US MDT, there are a lot difference of circumstances existing the WW2 and current conflict. At the onset of WW2, Japan attacked american state of hawaii. Then, Japanese invaded the philippines which at that time, an american territory, many american residents and citizens and 100% of business establishments and industries were american owned. These forced the US jointly with filipino soldiers to fight the japanese invaders. Now, the situation is different. American has no more interest in the philippines, after they transfered their factories and businesses to china. The US will not risk their soldiers just for the sake of the filipinos who actually had a bad and history and massacre events during the RP-American war centuries ago. The conflict between RP and china including the taiwan issue is just good business for america to sell the war equipment and assets.

China’s escalation in our EEZ is unacceptable. Bullying again is not a good policy of China and will only stimulate Nationalisn in the Philippines which some people forgot during Duterte Administration. If China thinks it’s easy to mess with its neighbors, we will see long term if they will benefit or lose from its agressive action.
