    That tape tip is the best time-saving tip I have ever learned in crafting. I still see many women doing tutorials with napkins and they don't know the trick and are still trying to separate at the corners with their nails.

    I discovered a way to use the white layers (long time ago!) You take a mix of white glue and water (if I'm remembering correctly!) stick it down to thin card. When it's dry, it'll be all wrinkly, which I like. Then you can paint it with watercolor paint, and while the paint is damp, add some Perfect Pearls. Try a small sample if you're not sure, and of course you can mix up the colors, make it your own! ☺ Makes a gorgeous background for your aperture cards, that's what I used it for.

    • @lindaisrael

      Thanks, Suzan. It seems to work much better. You can also put the mod podge on the substrate and then lay the napkin on top. Smooth gently with hands. But I like the glue stick better. :) you are most welcome. Thanks so much for watching.

    I've seen this done before but not with a glue stick. I think this would work better, as the others always used a wet glue or collage medium, which seems to make things too wet and then the napkin bunches up or tears. Great ideas, TFS ~ L

    Hello Linda, I don't have a sewing machine as of yet...what can I use as a substitute?

    • @lindaisrael
      @lindaisrael  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, Donna. I sew because I like to do it, But it isn't necessary in order to finish a page or project. You can use a Stamp set I have in my shop called Shabby Stitches, to give the appearance of stitches. :) lindaisrael.com/art/product/ctm230f-shabby-stitches-qt-rubber-stamps/ Thanks so much for your question and for watching. :)

    Do you use your sewing machine for both paper crafting and also clothing items or once you have used it on paper, is it no longer suitable for making clothing with material? Might sound like a ridiculous question, but I have a very expensive embroidery machine that I’m worried about ruining. Thanks!

    • @lindaisrael
      @lindaisrael  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello! Yes I use the same machine. I may change the needle if going to sew something important. But otherwise I use a machine that was about $600 when new. It doesn't hurt the machine. Just keep it clean and it will be fine. :) You are most welcome. Thanks for watching.

    Linda, I'm having a primblem adhering napkins to paper. I'm using a glue stick but as soon as it dries you have to do some reglueing. Any thing else I've tried is two wet and makes the paper tear. I'm attaching napkins to papers to put in a journal . Love your series!! Also what do you use to coat it so it won't get torn??? Thanks girl!!!

    • @lindaisrael
      @lindaisrael  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, Ballery. I use a very heavy coat of glue stick on the paper base and then lay the napkin on top. I gently press the napkin down then I sewed on top. I don't add any sealer on top and these seem to work fine for me. :) Hope that makes sense. :) Thank you. You are most welcome. Thanks for watching.

    So you don't use any decoupage on top of you napkins? Or glue?

    • @lindaisrael
      @lindaisrael  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Susan. I used glue stick to attach the napkin to the other paper, sewed around the edges and then attached to my page with either Aleene's Tacky Glue or washi tape. That's it! no need for decoupage if you sew around the edges. ;) Thank you for watching and asking a question. :)

    I received some dress patterns, I know what to do with the paper but what do I use the envelope for?

      Take a look at this video: th-cam.com/video/RZaS36Uxc8s/w-d-xo.html my envelope was blank, but you could use the pattern envelope in the same fashion. ;) that is just one idea. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.

    I love this video! I love using napkins on my cards, embellishments,& journals. I like the way you applied the napkin to book pages
