What an amazing idea! Thank you for sharing! All your creations are BEAUTIFUL! Clearly I need to "mess around" more with my craft supplies! Lol Oh, and your cards are GORGEOUS!
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. And we love New Zealand - it’s a beautiful country with lovely people, so a big wave back from Canada. 😊❤️❤️
Absolutely love this idea 😮😊😊 it's gorgeous 😊 Have liked and subscribed so looking forward to more of your lovely tutorials 😊 Thank you for sharing this with us 😊😊 xxxx
Thank you so much Karen! I’m almost always making these butterflies now as I love the colour variation and the see-through wings. I hope you have fun with it! 💕💕
Absolutely ♥️♥️♥️ this Butterfly. Looking into starting with Alcohol Inks and have seen other laminator techniques, but never both together Thank You x
Thank you so much Sarah! It’s so fun to put the two together and see what comes out in the end. Just be sure to let the inks dry before putting them through the laminator - I tell you that from experience! 😂😂💕💕
I don't own enough stuff to make all this stuff yet but I love watching. My hands shake a lot sometimes so it might be easier to work with the laminating pouches than paper. I found out just recently that small dies don't work so great for me cause I can't separate the paper after I die cut with out taring it to shreds cause my hands shake. So I want to get some bigger dies that I can work with maybe. I tried to make my husband a birthday card. I used the Happy Birthday die and tore it to shreds trying to get the words out after I ran it through the machine. So when I get a butterfly die I want to try the laminating pouch. I only have the basic squares, circles and a couple others right now. But soon I hope.
That’s too bad Connie that you’re having such a tough time with your hands! You’re probably right about the bigger dies being easier and there are lots of beautiful butterfly dies that are a bit bigger. Also, have you tried putting a piece of wax paper into the die first and then your cardstock? The wax paper helps the cardstock release more easily, so you may find it easier to get the die cuts out. 💕💕
Thank you so much Steffi! I can’t take credit for it though as I saw someone use laminating pouches a couple of years ago on TH-cam and then Jennifer McGuire did a video also about a year later. But it’s a really fun technique with lots of possibilities. 😄💕💕
This is absolutely gorgeous!!! I can’t wait to try this. I bought a laminator recently and haven’t had time to explore all its creative possibilities yet. This technique wins hands down. So, so beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
@@KarensKardzz You’re most welcome! And I am sure it will work for me, after your excellent instructions! I hope the alcohol ink that oozed out from your first attempt didn’t ruin your laminator… Great tip not to go right to the edges. So good that we don’t have to make the same mistake!
Wow!! What a gorgeous technique. I want to do this with my laminator. I confess I have never broke open my alcohol inks. Time to give them a whirl on this wonderful project. Thanks so much for sharing. Beautiful!
Wow! I'm late in finding you but so pleased I have. What a fantastic use of the pouches! Thanks for sharing. I'm now subscribed and going to be catching up on all your videos 🦋
Wow, the butterflies are just stunning! But your ideas with the leftovers and the other things you die cut are gorgeous!! Definitely a great idea which I will try out very soon. Thank you for sharing 👍
Just beautiful Karen! I'm a long time crafter (even before it became popular) and I love to see what others are doing. This is such a good idea! I'm now a subbie! TFS..... Oh and hi from Bonnie Scotland. 💙
What a unique idea! Those embellishments are stunning! Instead of stamping with the Pigment ink, now Tim Holtz has come out with an alcohol removing pad and I wonder how that would stamp on the alcohol ink before you run it through the laminating machine. I can’t wait to try this!
Oh my!! This is amazing and so creative!! Butterflies are my favorites!! Just love this! I will be trying this for sure!! Did you use dies to cut them out?
Thank you so much Michele! I didn’t have dies for those butterflies so I fussy cut them out. But if you have a butterfly with a die, you can use the die. You may need to add a shim to cut through the laminating folder. And if it looks like it might separate, I just put them back in a carrier sheet and run them through the laminator again. I hope you have fun with it! 😄❤️❤️
Thank you so much Stephanie! I made the flowers in exactly the same way. Just alcohol inks in the laminating folders, let them dry, ran them through the laminator and then just die cut them with flower dies. I hope that helps! 💕💕
Thank you so much for your kind comment and for subscribing! It really is fun to use the inks in those laminating pouches and I hope you have lots of fun with them! 💕💕

Thank you so much Michelle! I have seen some of the matte laminations too, but just haven’t bought the laminating pouches yet. More fun things to try soon though! 😄💕💕
Thank you so much Cath! I’m sorry I don’t have a video on how I made the backgrounds for those cards. I had to go back and watch the video to see what the backgrounds were 😂. But I think most of them were either stencilled through a die cut background or were embossed. I think whatever you put those laminated pieces on will look good though. 💕💕
Thanks so much Nancy! I have tried it with dye inks and I’m sorry to say it doesn’t work very well. They seem to lose most of their colour when you laminate them. But I have tried using some different Cosmic Shimmer metallic gilding polishes and they worked fairly well. 😊💕💕

Thank you so much! I find that if I’m adding in any glitter or other things into the laminating pouch, the glitter will shift around if I don’t support it well enough with the sheet of paper. But I frequently run it through a second time without the extra paper to make sure it gets a good seal. I hope that helps… 😊💕💕
Thank you so much Barbara! I did stamp the butterflies on, but you can choose to stamp them inside the laminating folder (and wait for the ink to dry as you need to use a pigment ink), or you can stamp them on the outside after you’ve run the folder through the laminator.
