Thank you very much, Donna. :) I have a ton of tutorials just like this one, clear and to the point. I also do Live streams on Thursdays 12:30 pm, Mondays at 3:45 pm Central standard time. Come hang out with us. :) Thank you for watching. :)
This was my first video that I watched by you, I fell in love with gypsy journal, bought her, received her today, and she is just beautiful!!! I am so happy I bought it! Thank you for being awesome!!!
Awe, Thank you very much, Sherrie. I greatly appreciate your purchase and I'm so glad that you like her. :) you have made my day. :) Thank so much for watching and leaving a comment.
Newbie here! Thanks so much for the info and explaining the freedom to let your journal be yours and not a cookie cutter! I am new to the FB page and I'm looking forward to my junk journal journey!
You are most welcome, Deanna. Have fun making junk journals. Do what makes you happy! Enjoy the group and feel free to ask questions. Thank you for watching. Have an awesome weekend.
Thank you, Christine. I too used to save magazines, and calendars and even wallpaper to make envelopes. I still have a few envelopes I made too. Funny how we save items and now these can be used in all kinds of projects. Thanks so much for watching. If you haven't checked out my Facebook Groups, please feel free to join and get lots of inspiration. :) Have a great day.
Had to watch this again. I rewatch your stuff and once again I’m amazed how helpful your stuff is. Does your husband think your creative and awesome or what? Thanks again Linda!!
Thanks, Tina. :) I'm so glad you found it helpful. Yes, he does! He is very supportive of me and I am blessed. You are most welcome. Thank you for watching.
Hello! Thank you so much for explaining the concept of Junk Journaling as you have! Everyone has their own ideas as you say... and it is great to know ... that no matter what route we have decided to pursue in creating these wonderful books ... it's 'all okay'! I will be sharing this on my page ... since it is huge encouragement for everyone ... from 'newbies' to well practices creators!
Hello, Lilywhyte Wallis. :) I'm so glad you found this video helpful. It is true, do what you love, there is no wrong way. :) It is one of the reasons I love junk journals, anything goes. If it makes me happy then I do it. ;) awe thank you. I do hope others find encouragement from this and the other videos I make. Have fun creating. Thanks so much for watching.
I absolutely love junk journals and have tons of ephemera but after a kitchen fire the cleaning company packed everything up and as soon as my back surgery is over and I'm recuperated it's going to be like Christmas to find and organize all my stuff. Your's just got me all excited again.
awe I hope you heal soon and I look forward to hearing about all the goodies you find. ;) Thanks so much for watching video, so glad it has gotten you exited. :)
Thank you, Tina. Okay so are you in the FJJP Group? I thought I saw your name. :) or we can hash it out here. :) Do you have paper craft supplies? Got a needle and some thread? Then the best thing to do is pull some papers from your stash. about 10 to 15 depending on the size of the papers. Choose one of those to be your max page size. Cut or fold the rest to fit that max page size or less. Fold the stack in half, create a cover out of cardstock about 1/4 to 1/2 bigger than you max page size. Fold it in half. Stack the cover and the pages, hold with giant paper clips or binder clips so they don't move around. Poke three holes down the center fold with a good spacing about 1 1/2 inch from each edge and dead center. Then use the Pamphlet stitch to bind with your thread and needle. (here is a tutorial on the pamphlet stitch: th-cam.com/video/Q2axqxzxK48/w-d-xo.html) Hope that gets you started. :) Feel free to ask questions.
You are most welcome, Sonia. Think of it this way. the only paper you have is an old damaged book, and you want to write your own journal. so you take the book apart and created new pages in your journal with your personal touch. Does that help explain it a little better? Thanks so much for watching.
On the first book you showed.. what is the name of the stretchy stuff that you had around it please. Oh and thank you for explaining what they are.. I had someone ask me what a junk journal was and I had no idea how to explain it!
Hello, Diane. :) That was elastic cord on the cover that held what is called a travelers notebook insert. The journals inside are held in place with elastic and can be removed from the outer soft cover. I have a few videos on Travelers Notebook and a tutorial on how to make the cover I show in the video. :) Well hopefully you know how to explain it now. lol :) Thank you for watching. :)
I just came across some items on our trip back to Scotland First time for hubby wanted to put them in a album, made a journal instead, still a work in progress.
That is awesome! I love that idea. I have some trips that I've taken and didn't do anything with all the "stuff" I need to go back and make journals. SO many things to do and not enough time! Thanks for watching.
Thank you so very much, Rebecca. Girl.... that is Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and it is awesome stuff!!! lol I have lots of videos showing how to use it and you can order it from canvascorpbrands.com/ Tell them how you found out about the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists. They have a ton of colors. If you need help selecting some, let me know what colors you like and I can make suggestions. :) Thanks so much for watching. :)
Very well said as always! Made my day! Also, I think Linda is Portuguese for beautiful. Or it may have been an understatement. It shows! Anyways, enjoy your day!
awe thank you very much, Andrea. I enjoy sharing and I'm so glad that this was a good video. I knew it meant Pretty in Spanish. Thank you for sharing the Portuguese translation. :) Thank you for watching and leaving a comment.
Hello, Victory. :) The idea of a journaling card is anything that can be written upon and placed inside a journal. It can be any size. Usually it is a removable item. Hope that helps. :) You are most welcome. Thank you for watching. :)
Hello, Imasheep Bahbah. A signature is a grouping if pages bound together. Most of the time the pieces of paper are folded in half and then sewn together inside a cover. Hope that answers your question. :) Have fun creating. Thank you for watching.
well I have journals made with found things, but I never knew the were Junk Journals, so yeah I am I never knew there was a community like this, kind of overwhelming
funny how we have been making things for years and then someone gives it a label and everything changes. The community is so fun to hang out in and it can be overwhelming. :) I do hop you enjoy it though! :)
Hello, Chuck. Sure. There are no rules. Lots of people alter books by adding things inside. You can even glue pages together to create pockets and place items on top. Have fun creating. :) Thanks for watching.
These can be used as daily journals or special event journals or scrapbooks. Some people like to put them out on display to flip through for something pretty or interesting to view. :) Thanks for watching. :) HUGS.
this is going to go over like the proverbial lead balloon, but just imaging the good things you could unleash if you put as much time and energy into mentoring a young person, being a member of neighborhood watch, volunteering at the local animal shelter, volunteering to give out free books to patients in a hospital, helping someone learn to read, gathering and donating school supplies to one of your local schools so the kids of parents who can't afford all those needed items will have them. just imagine!
Bless your heart, you have a giving spirit for sure. I do mentor a young person and many other things. Sharing how to create art is just one aspect of my life. I hope you are doing all the things you listed as well. Thank you for visiting and leaving a comment.
Thank you for all your advice and explanations. I got such good ideas from you. You are a blessing.
Love that your description is so clear, concise and to the point. Can't wait to make my first one. So excited.

Can a new journal be purchased and then add the "junk" to it?

Thanks
Sorry, clueless here. Are you supposed to write in these or just look at them?
I see I didn't watch far enough. So you can write or not. :)
