    Berry, you are the man!
You are so correct, Mr. Berry Smith. What and why subnetting ? ! Everyone else --- EVERYONE on TH-cam --- rolls over that crucial question / topic / insight except you. Students know how to "mimic the numbers" as you say, but they lack an independent understanding. They cannot see the forest because there are too many trees. My light-bulb (admittedly dim) was activated by your observations.
In sum, my humble and enthusiastic thanks to you. YOURS was the key video explaining WHY. Excellent. It's so much easier now (post Berry Smith video) to get into the weeds and understand splitting up addresses on the router for the reasons of (1) security; (2) organization; and (3) performance. THANK YOU. I subscribed and thumbs-up to you. I'm now heading to your playlists to see all the other vids you have in this networking area.
I'm nominating you for an Oscar as Best TH-cam Tutor in a Crucial Technical Area. You are a certain winner!!

If you need to know more about subnetting and this is the first of Berry's videos you've come across, I STRONGLY advise you to watch all of his videos on this subject matter! Berry is a great teacher! I thought subnetting would be a subject I would never really be able to grasp based on how others have explained it. Then, I found Berry's videos and improved my knowledge greatly because of Berry.
If you are reading this Berry, thank you so much for your help! :)

Normally I don't bother commenting on videos, but I felt this was good (I've not watched the series) that it warranted a comment. Keep up the good work. Like most fields, there are people that excel within them but are lousy at transferring that knowledge over to others, especially if they learn slightly differently.
