    Thanks for posting. I'm still on my never-ending search for a good trail shoe and I stumbled on to this Asics model. Just went for my first run earlier today and it blew me away. I was wearing the Saucony Xodus Ultra 2 for a few months but I like the Asics much more. I did try the Brooks Caldera 6 for a while but it felt too mushy for me.

    Great insights and advice, especially for people who can't afford to try both. Thanks! I have the Trabuco Max 2, I love them since I can use them in both trail and very minimal (slow walk/run) in asphalt/paved roads too without much problems. 😅😅😅 Will look forward to more upcoming vids!

    I had both and found the Caldera to be just to narrow in the toe box. Switched to the Trabuco and it was heaven. Plus I got them 30% off with the Military First Responder discount thru their website.

      Thanks for watching and commenting. I take it you mean the 30% on Asics. If you sign up for the military discount from the bottom of the Asics site, it is 40 or 50% off, even on brand new models when they drop. They are the only company that allows it on First Drops. Keep Pushing The Run

    Thank you for the video.
    I bought a Caldera and have unfortunately been experiencing pain in the sole of my left foot. I ran 10km twice on different days and both times I had this pain. On 5km runs, however, I had no problems.I haven't trained all this week to give my foot a chance. Let's see what happens when I start training with it again on Tuesday.I've also noticed that when I go down an incline surface my foot moves forward, increasing the pressure on the tip of my toes.In any case, the shoes are new and I need to be patient so that they adapt to the shape of my foot. I'm a bit worried but I'm going to try.
    I've been using the Salomon Ultra-Glide for the last two years and they've never given me any problems. Except for the durability of the soles, which lost a lot of their grip after a year of use.

    Thanks for the video! I’m considering both not for running, but walking trails (thru hiking, without extreme technical terrain), with hundreds of kilometers to walk like Camino de Santiago in 2024. This trip is mostly unpaved road, has rocks, puddles and need something plush for the feet + breathable to dry off when wet. I aim to carry just two shoes for 2 weeks of demanding walk. Would like to hear your opinion on these choices?

      Thanks for watching and the response. Yes, the Asics would be a great shoe. If you are looking for the most soft cushioning, the new New Balance Fresh Foam XMove V3 Trail is my new favorite. The upper is much like the Asics Trabuca Max 2, but is much softer in cushioning.

    Took caldera on a race the day after I picked them up - blisters everywhere from such a narrow toebox - still a great hiking shoe though so that is now its job. Would you recommend the trubuco max over the speddgoat 5s?

    • @pushtherun
      @pushtherun  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I guess you did not watch this video before buying? NEVER wear shoes brand new if they are even semi-tight. The narrow toe box cause blisters for me on my right foot. Depends how much you weigh. The Trabuco has more stack height and I think a softer cushioning. However, the Speedgoat 5 is a better race shoe. For longer ultras over 50K, I personally would go with the Trabuco. I weight 165 lbs.

    Hi, can i use TM2 as my daily trainer for road? I rarely go to trail and why i think i am gonna buy tm2 is because of the very deep midsole + outsole durability (my assumption is true or not?) .. or do u recommend Novablast 3 instead of this for road only? my main goal are very good cushion + outsole durability..

      Mike, thank you for watching and commenting. The softest foam I have tried this year in a trail shoe I believe is between the New Balance Supercomp Trail and the Asics Trabuco Max 2. Here is the link to the comparison video I did on both. The NB has a more rugged upper, but the Asics is lighter and the upper has more breathability. Looking for a shoe for Canadian winters, specifically for pavement/ice/compacted snow, all 3 of which I see on a regular winter run. Would the Trabuco Max 2 be a good option? Not concerned with upper having weather protection as my regular running shoes don't typically get wet in winter, good grip and comfort on both road and snow/ice is most important.

    • @pushtherun
      @pushtherun  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for watching and commenting. I would think the Trabuco Max 2 would be great in the snow, because of the traction it has. But, I have no idea how they would be on ice. Unless a run shoe has graphite tips on the end of the lugs, I would never even give an opinion as to how any shoe would be on ice. However, I know my brother-in-law who originally is from Montreal (Played pro hockey there then draft by the Chicago Blackhawks) who's visits his parents there in the winter, wore the original Trabuco Max there in the snow last year and said they worked great. But, in the end, runner beware when trying to run on ice. Keep Pushing!!!

    I like the Caldera 6 a lot more. The Trabuco Max 2 is rather firm. I prefer the normal Trabuco 11, it's softer. Yeah, I own all three and more. Sooner or later I always gift them to family and friends and sometimes get a few bucks I can spend on the next shoe. I am eyeing the Salomon Thundercross right now, it's fairly new and a bit obscure. The Caldera 6 I have is size 10, my usual 9.5 was a bit too tight for it.

      @@Blank-Knight In 50 shoes I've tested the last year, the only shoe that has a softer midsole is the Nike Alphafly. Alphafly has a 23 durometer level and XMore is 27. Trabuco is 33 and Caldera is 37. The lower the number the softer the foam.

    • @Blank-Knight
      @Blank-Knight ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pushtherun very weird, my Max 2 doesn't compress much at all, my Caldera does. It also feels that way, my Max is firm and rigid. And that's also the assessment of some shops here that ranked it as rather medium in cushioning, with even the normal Trabuco rating higher in that category. Well there can be production related differences, but that's just too much. Maybe it's the rather stiff guidesole that makes the foam feel harder. Thanks for telling, I am now thoroughly confused though. 😄🤪

      @@Blank-Knight Like the Nike Zegama trail shoe. It has Zoom X foam like the Alphafly, but it is very firm for me. I know a couple Nike Pro trail runners who love the Zegama and say it is the perfect firmness for them. Everyone's different. That is why in my shoe review deep dives, I weight them, measure the foam with a durometer to test the firmness, and use a digital caliper to measure the width and stack height. Numbers don't lie.

      Rogelio,
      Thank you for taking the time to watch the video and make a comment. I am unsure which of the 2 shoes you are asking about? I would say between the two shoes, the ASICS Trabuco Max 2 has a flatter arch, which may make it more suitable to your flat feet. By that, I am assuming you mean you have a low arch? Also, I am not sure what the conditions of the course is that you will walking on. Both of these shoes obviously have uppers that are suited for running. I am not sure if they are suitable for walking 35-40 day as far as may be not having enough lateral support. In the end, it just depends on what type of cushioning you like better. The Trabuco is softer than the Caldera. Thanks again and make sure you subscribe to the channel if you have not already.
