The one time Tom does over 1m damage per hit is the one time he doesn't look at total damage dealt stat after the run.

In fairness? I think we could ALL see how much Tom was, weirdly, missing crits more than he should have.
And the alternative to the Muscircle relics were... Oh. Oh it's MUCH WORSE than just taking two muscircle relics in a row!!
He coulda had the one that gives Expoitaball (via the Stacked Orbacus) and the other one???
Super Boots could have kept him from taking fire damage, altogether, while also allowing him to heal between fights (a little).

The Squirrel, Multi-Multiball, and Poker Chip have a potential for some crazy damage amplification, but it is sad that the Squirrel was changed and almost always vanishes before hitting the endgame.
agreed, but the pre-nerfed version was so op that you had to take it everytime.
@@splinte111 Yeah, I really wish they'd taken a different approach to balancing it, so that it was a persistent effect like every other relic in the game.
@@PierceArner something like not making it proc from multi ball and itself maybe. Or maybe double or triple the pegs needed to proc the next one every time.
@@PierceArner I think if they had it where whenever you hit a refresh or even every 2 refreshes it adds one more to the squirrel. That way its typically something that is more useful when you get it, but for most builds it will still run out near the end game without being a totally dead item. And for refresh multiball builds it would probably be like its old op version, but you'd have to spec into that build for it instead of it being OP every time.
@@PierceArner I'd prefer if it had a cap on how many times it could activate per shot or per encounter personally

If you consider the first 5 turns as a countdown, the build works like a nuclear bomb.

Poker chip + multiball is so strong. Its probably the highest scaling build if done right. The orb that summons copies of other orbs helps a ton.
The leaf would have been so good. Also the boot makes you immune to the fire from the poker chip
The "damage resistances become weaknesses" axe was designed to make shields easier, but it absolutely breaks the minesweeper bomb boss who is now suddenly super weak to and filling the board with bombs
How many enemies actually have "resistances"? It's not been obvious from watching alone.
@@Dr.Death8520 aside from the ones already mentioned, im pretty sure the mirrors, the shield knight guy (and the weather vanes but not really an enemy) would have "resistance" to targeted attacks. I cant think of any others off the top of my head
The Squirrel should have a limited number of uses per battle, not per run. That’d make it a lot more useful.

The boot at about 21:00 would have stopped the fire DMG from the chip.
No it wouldn't. The chip isn't misnavigation

He passed up two echorbs, which would have probably been amazing. On those shots where he deals 6+digit damage to one enemy, he could have made the next shot deal that damage to all enemies.

Try a Refresh Upgrade build. Using the Spinventor. Swoltorb, the goggles relic, and Upgrade Sectorb as part of the Assemball. Maybe just do a Custom Assemball build.
I just ended a run by dealing a bit under 3 million damage to one of those square bosses thanks to a summoning circle and multiballs.
I spent two months in the wilderness without internet connection. All I could think about was, "What is Tom doing with his balls?"

I would love to see Tom try a custom run with the "better" multiball relic, only to realise he soft-locked himself with the -2/-2 effect and has to restart with a different build 😅

Starting with a rare ball and a rare relic is obviously gonna be stronger than any of the starter decks. But still a fun run.

Ah cool, I did a custom build just this morning with the reorbaniser + bosses only! Multi ball is also a fun one
New build idea for a custom: Three mirrorbs, one summoning circle, Refresher Course is your one relic

I still don´t understand why they made the squirrel limited. 100 Triggers, depending on build and maps can be like 4 shots. And then its a useless relic. Which, for a boss relic, is unacceptable. I get that it was insanely strong beforehand, but just needing more hits to trigger or something would´ve been a much better nerf to it.
I would love to see the lasorb achieve its full potential, if it has one
consider the following
you have the refresh orb only so no damage BUT your relic is bomb refresh
extra hard mode, you can ONLY kill things with bombs
"88 thousand damage" Tom, that was 880 thousand. On an enemy with 600 health.
It's not about the build but the goofs we made along the way.
Would love to see a vid focusing on new stuff, like you have to take every(within reason mid/late game ofc) new thing and try to make it work
How about stone build? The relics that add damage to the stone and an orbalisk?

If you clear all the bombs on the board where you choose a path after a battle, you get an artifact. ('bombs activate nearby pins' relic is nice for this)
