I've watched DD UK, DD Canada, Shark Tank US, Shark Tank Australia... if you have another, better company and you are only offering your subsidiary or distributing arm, very few Dragons or Sharks are going to take you up on that deal. Peter might be greedy but so are the entrepreneurs asking for money AND help but not offering their best return.
@@defundhollywood3259 if you own a home and come to take out a mortgage on a second, I don't ask for some of the equity in your existing home as a trade (unless you're using it as collateral in lieu of a deposit). It's a separate deal, I'd have no right to assert ownership over something else you own

To be fair, selling equity in a business that makes a million pounds per annum would be beyond foolish.

It's all about price, if they offered you 100M for 5% it's great, if they offer 1K it's terrible.
Also if you could have them invest 100k for 5% and use it to increase the value to anything over 2.106M then it's a good deal also.
It seems foolish to say that selling equity in a business is foolish without any other details.

The dragons prepare and investigate the entrepreneurs ahead of time. He knew that the Firemizer company was going nowhere and that the best option would be an investment in his other companies. It's not insane, quiete the opposite, it would be insane to invest in Firemizer knowing it was a huge miss.

I'm not sure how long the product will last, but probably several years. Creating a metal mat, or several years of 1/3 less of coal for people that use it regularly? Pretty obvious.

It’s environmentally friendly because it doesn’t burn the mat. Heating something to a million degrees is still environmentally friendly than burning coal or wood into the air at 200 degrees.
It’s also to prolong the heat so you useless fuel and use less money in the long term.

Cant say how profitable the company now is but the product is being sold in the US at Home Depot (US equivalent to B&Q), and the US would be a massive market for this product.
