I love that Link wakes up and 20 minutes later he's messing up the divine beasts and Ganon before even putting on any pants.
Link is a busy guy, who has time for pants when Hyrule is in danger???
He eats Ganons for breakfast
Hahaha totally.
*eyes open*
*brow furrows*
*grabs ginch*
*shield slams some unsuspecting boko domes*
*backstabs Gannon*
he's taking this 'chosen hero knight' business seriously www
i think he remembers lol

So glad they acknowledged the animated speedrun. It's so good.

There's just something really satisfying about watching this game getting destroyed by its physics engine not being designed for these circumstances. Converting inanimate objects into rocket ships, matrix jumps, and phasing through shrines just made this run absolutely hilarious!
I think I'll learn to do these tricks just to meme the whole game
Stasis launches were absolutely intended by the devs tho
Honestly.. I believe the physics system WAS intended for creativity. For these extremes - Maybe not. But this game's engine is absolutely wonderful and leaves a lot to be explored, simply by the imagination of an ordinary player. If you think it, you can probably do it in this game.
I love it!
And then watching it again in animation
I remember getting sick of motion control shit and just propelling the ball out of the labyrinth with stasis launch in the Hateno village shrine. Took me like 20 mins to figure the angle but it was worth it cause it looked so cool
"Stay hydrated"
-hydrated ganon
thanks ganon
There's something about an entire room of people cheering for a banana that makes me appreciate this community so incredibly much
Are you talking about the speedrun community or the Yiga Clan?
@@obrunodamacena yes
Something about...
It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life! A ba-nana-naa!
For those confused about the language, the *system language is French;* this controls text and voice acting sequences that progress based on button prompts. In Any%, the only line like this is just before you pick up the Sheikah Slate (1:54).
*The in-game voice settings are in German* because they affect voice lines that progress automatically. In the scope of Any%, there's only one automatic voice line (4:26) and the difference between the two is so minor that's really only up to runner preference.
The voice acting is still German at 1:54 though.
This ALMOST cleared up my questions, but I've reread your comment several times and still can't figure out why I'm clearly hearing German at 1:54.
Thought I heard German but also thought I was hearing things!
@@Scorpio3002 If it was the part that says "this controls text and voice acting sequences" that muddled anything, I think it doesn't mean "the voice acting sequence is in french", but instead means "the voice acting sequence needs you to press a button, which is faster when the system language is French", and then the separate voice settings were german all along
I KNEW IT
Link awakens:
Majoras mask x days remaining screen
Ganon: "Why does this say 33.51 ?"
"Is that years? weeks? Days?"
Link appears
Ganon: "oh sh-"
We’ve created the longest, most complex Zelda game of all time! It’ll take weeks to WAIT WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!
"WHATINTHENAMEOFHYLIA?!"
@@scottwpilgrim nice terminalmontage reference
That "Hydrated Ganon" Donation just made me get up from my couch to grab a glas of water. Thanks for the reminder!
Thanks for your Guys awesome Words, it was alot of Fun to be on the Couch. Song just prefers German Voiceacting which is a Frame slower than French btw.
But says its French because it’s faster while German voicescting in background lol
@@venom671 yeah french is faster song forgot to switch lol

Those eyes... It would be dangerous for you to head to the castle at this poi-
Well excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuussssseeeee me princess
Brilliant run with GREAT and informative commentary.
Anyone who's played BotW casually knows how satisfying it is to see these enemies dispatched so easily.
I still remember being extremely early in the game (after arriving at hateno), when I decided it would be fun to fly to Gerudo highlands from the plateau and sees what's over there.
Ended up doing Naboris with no armor, barely any weapon, 3 heart (~around 2 stamina wheel), wondering what the actual fuck I've gotten myself into. Took 4 hours, and a lot of attempts, and somehow surviving long enough to have the game literally tells me to magnet the thunder rod. Gave me PTSD so much, I roamed the map instead of fighting more beasts.
Next on the plate was Vah Ruta, which went down after a single volley of electric 5x savage lynel bow for each phrase. I guess I roamed too much in between...
omfg what a fantastic run ,, thourough couch explinations and humour , way to smash a fanstastic game roll on dlc
This is amazing! My first 30 minutes of this game were spent putting on a shirt and taking pictures of frogs... and song already beat the game in that time! Great run!
"The French voice acting is faster" he says, as German voice acting plays...
The language that your switch is set to is what makes it faster, changing the voice acting doesn’t change the tempo of the text
@@Zant and still he says, voice acting is the fastest in french. that doesn't make sense at all.
@@Zant Still makes no sense
@@Zant but it does change the speed in the dubbed cutscenes where Zelda talks to Link.
french voice acting is actually a bit faster than German. about One frame. strange mistake in this run. but it Doesnt matter.
i realized while watching GDQ runs that the reason i watch these 1 hour+ speed runs is the commentary and participation from the crowd i mean i still do love the games getting destroyed but if the run was completely silent i honestly wouldn't watch. its given me a new appreciation of GDQ events
Getting to be in the room while this game was run was one of the most electric feelings I've had in a long while. Thanks GDQ, I hope to see the show again sometime!
This is one of the greatest speedruns I’ve watched from gamesdonequick. Awesome game. Awesome runner. Awesome commentary. Awesome crowd. Hilarious glitches.
I never expected Link to be taking flying lessons from General Tao from Dragonball.
I was hoping I’d find this comment.
Well, excuse me princess!
I get that reference
Me too
Sir, you dropped some u's, here they are.
UUUUUUUUUUUU
Not enough u's... 7.8/10 :(
The stasis rune makes this run 20 times better than it would be otherwise. People are so clever with how they use it.
I can just imagine the Guardians on Hyrule Field just looking up and seeing link flying at Mach 100 overhead.
Just watched the Something About episode about this speedrun and it was extremely hilarious!! By the way, this run is amazing, executed perfectly
It wasnt near perfect, although still very impressive and waaaaay better than I could do, he had MULTIPLE times mostly at the great plateau and when he missed his landing point at hyrule castle that added up to losing 5 minutes off what's considered a perfect run, by the time he finished fire fireblight, a by human standards "perfect" run wouldve been over
Really cool to see how much this run has changed in only a year. BotW really does have some of the greatest speedruns.
FANTASTIC run!! Loved the couch and runner!
The synchro is in german :D And I understood that animated reference, really described this speedrun well XD
What reference????

This speed run was so great. I've watched other speed runs, but it's so nice to have the commentary to figure out what they're doing. Great run!
19:22 WHAT IN THE NAME OF HYLIA!?
Nice reference dude!
WELL EXCUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSE ME PRINCESS!
Just some casual Tao PaiPai'ing
Just some synchronized chaos
I am more surprised at the fact that he nicely managed to cancel the fall damage.
Literally every 3D Zelda speedrun is just clipping through everything.
What he only clipped through the shrine doors and all that did was skip the first tower
excuse moi princesse
This guy is talking with the most german accent I’ve ever heard
"we choose french because the voice acting is faster in french"
Me as a french : Have i learned the wrong language my whole life?
My language is german and when I heard that I tought "Wait, since when can I understand french?"
ROFL!
This was actually really entertaining to watch and the commentary was great
Forget blockbuster movies, watching a speed run of a game like this is my kind of night in!
I finished this game after 6-7 months and watching Wolhaiksong rip this game's physics & mechanics apart is truly magnificent. I used to think that BOTW had no glitches but wowzers man! respect!
I remember buying this on release day, and playing iBOTW religiously for a week straight, mixed with my studies at uni, and always thinking that a speed run of this game would take hours .... Today I am humbled by Wolhaiksong's god tier run, and I'm so happy for it!
Woo Limcube! :D Ive started learning this speedrun and have been using his guide. Super helpful!
Edit: Only partway through the vid, but just wanted to say, besides the rough beginning and a few hiccups (nbd!), this guy is nailing it! Such a neat run ♥
This is so wholesome. Just some people getting together to watch someone super talented play a video game.
That final boss was so precise! You're amazing :)
This has been my favorite couch of all time
Soy un gran fan de los speedruns de OoT y MM; sin embargo, al nunca haber jugado BotW, siempre fui muy apático sobre el juego. Al ver este vídeo, me he enganchado. Muy buenos comentaristas, y excelente runner.
Oh shit this actually happened? I didnt notice, thanks for the upload
“I say. What is link doing with that tree? WHAT IN THE NAME IN HYLIA?!
I think "Wolhaiksong", the name of the runner, is a Tower of God reference. If so, that's so damn cool. :P
Spuhyke indeed
Noticed that as well. :)
i literally just got caught up on the webtoon today, searched for this vid and saw that i was like :0
Absolutely amazing run! Can't wait to see what is coming next for this game.
Fantastic event. Great to see Limcube on the couch! Awesome run by Mr Song!!
Great run with great commentary
Wow this run was so fun to watch. That was really entertaining.
Even in speedruns, this game is beautiful to behold. Would be amazing if we could invite some of the devs one day to a GDQ and let then see this lol.
It is absolute nuts just how much the any% run has evolved since 2017.
Breath of the Wild is one of the best games ever and I absolutely love it. This speedrun is so impressive, chapeau!
Wolhaiksong? The Tower of God?
This run was great! Amazing job team and Song!
If I ever get into speed running this is definitely one of the games I want to give a try. It’s just such a fun run and really entertaining to watch. I love how much of the speedrun involves manipulating the games mechanics and physics and stuff and it’s just really fun too. It doesn’t hurt either that it’s such a short run too
Such an entertaining run! Just like with the infamous barrier break, I hope one day to see the death fog beaten in this game!
great run man so much fun watching
Wow. I remember seeing orca do this game awhile ago. seeing it ran now its totally different. really great to see how games develop over time
What an amazing run. Also, my phone's notification sound is the BotW secret noise, so I went to check every single time he made progress in a shrine.
Great run! Shout out to the couch for the informative commentary.
8:00 Yup, I'm always falling asleep to these speed runs. They're like good bedtime stories. haha
Amazing, I enjoyed this so much. I love this game and I tell people regularly that the Switch is worth buying if only for this game to be played!
Dope run, enjoyed every second of it. Might start running this game cuz of ur performance :)
I like how the animation of the speed run is basically the same thing but more entertaining
Awesome run! Awesome runner, awesome couch, awesome tricks.
Great run, amazing commentary!
That was epic and amazing. Great run Song!
Awesome couch and great run!
It really amazes me how people find all these glitches and new routes. Very impressive to say the least.
So hyped for BOTW2. I think I'll replay the first one just to tide me over.
Holy crap, I can’t wait for speed runs of a new Zelda game. Watching them discover new ways to beat it keeps me hooked!
Damn that animation was spot on
I really like the couch in this run.
Link wakes up after being asleep for 100 years
Link kills gannon in half an hour
Link: WTF was wrong with me back then
The clothes were dimming his power. With only trousers and his bare chest, his powers are unleashed!
for a no-reset, this is a really good run :D
"First open world zelda"
First game: am i a joke to you?
Runner officially won the contest for greatest name ever.
Wolhaiksong is an amazingly talented speedrunner.
The crowd cheers every time he breaks the game.
13:29 lmfao wasn't expecting a rehydrated ganon joke
I am here because of Terminal Montage's Something About Zelda Breath of the Wild ANIMATED SPEEDRUN. Now I understand what the hell is going on thanks to this video. XD
this is so entertaining to watch
*Link wakes up* "Ugh, Gannon has ruined the world? Gimme like... half an hour."
Awesome game. Awesome commentary. Awesome crowd. Awesome run.
"Wolhaiksong" I understand that reference
Awesome name. I'm a huge ToG fan too!! Also a big LoZ fan.
Shoutout zant on the couch, great guy with a great stream :)
Good job Wolhaiksong. Great run!
This is just incredible!
Very fast paced and fun run!
What an awesome and funny run! Gj people
It was nice to see zant and limecube on here

Something about that interaction is really good
This is now what I expect after watching the animated video
Everyone (except Calamity Ganon): Link! You must save Hyrule!
Calamity Ganon: He won't do it....
Link: (puts on shades) Give me a half hour.
Everyone (including Calamity Ganon): O.O
**link riding a tree going to the Rhoam**
Rhoam : *WHAT IN THE NAME OF HYLIA??!!*
Always a pleasure to see a game running my maternal language
holy moly. this guy is a god!
C'était vraiment impressionnant. Bravo.
Amazing run, especially after i've only seen the animated speedrun of it so far and it's been really accurate. XD
It was said it is on french for faster voice acting, but isn't zelda talking in german?
Yeah I was confused by that. Some runners use German just because the difference isn't that much and the acting is better, but here it seemed bugged with French captions and German speech.
@@TundraGD It's even more funny for me, because I'm german and I learned both english and french in school. I can listen to the audio, the commentary and I can read the texts.
@@TundraGD you can Decide the Text and voice acting by yourself. french is faster for both. i dont know why the voice acting is German here... but it Doesnt make too much of a Difference. GDQ are fun runs, mistakes dont matter. they dont try to get a pb or wr ^^
@@TundraGD It might be a mistake, but it's not bugged; it's literally an option to use dual audio (subs in one language, speech in another).
Edit: it's not a mistake either, Song simply prefers the German voice acting which is 1 frame slower than the French.
Donschnulione the difference between German and French voice acting is very small also (like one frame)
Just like the animation! Nice.
"the game is in french" hears german voice acting "because the french voice acting is the fastest"
