Some more examples of using the Rule of Seven and deciding which is the danger hand

• Finally, do not duck if you are even weaker in another suit tinyurl.com/y4... That lead of H2, looks like it is 4th highest, so the hearts are dividing 4:3 and are not such a threat. The danger is the one you do not want to gain the lead...Because it could attack your vulnerable remaining Kx in Hearts- Vulnerable if The HA is in the West Hand and he has a holding like AJ10xx(x ).

Yes, this is really just for No Trump, though the idea of the danger hand is sometimes also relevant in a suit contract.

not necessarily - lets say dummy has AQ72 and declarer has 109 and the lead is 6 from a none trump lead - if they play 4th highest then you could duck and hope they have lead from KJ86...if they have lead from a doubleton - then playing low on the first card won't have cost you - unless they have lead a singleton!
