    Thank you for another fascinating video. In that first hand I thought the initial overcall of 2h was misleading with such a good hand. In standard Acol, I’d have thought 3h as a jump overcall was better, even with five trumps. North even controlled spades! South would then have had a much clearer picture because, as it stood, 2h wasn’t really promising very much. The 3h bid opposite 9 points and five hearts was then taking a real flyer?
    Perhaps they were playing weak two’s preventing this? I’ve been experimenting with weak 2s recently for both openings and over calls and whilst I can see the disruptive effect it seems often to be self-defeating.

    Just a reminder that the bidding shown is based on Acol (4 Card Majors), so might be a bit different if you are playing Standard (American) 5 Card Majors

    Certainly no to bidding 3S ! Moderate suit and hand for the overcall that took no bidding room away from opponents. Be happy you have got them up to the 3-level.
