This weeks video is about our Pico Island Life. Come along and hang out with us, there is still a lot to do before our rental guests arrive.
We had some furniture delivered, more gardening, tried out the new rustic bbq, visited friends and a few shops. We also had to put up with a weather depression that rolled in.
We hope you enjoyed spending some time with us, love having you on our journey.

Like the lemongrass placement. I had to smile at Carlos moving the Dragon Tree at your direction - I too do my best but my wife definitely has a better aesthetic sense of where things belong than I. Took notes on the soup and was surprised that collard greens were an ingredient - I guess everything grows on Pico. The rustic scene of cooking the fish gifted from a friend over an open fire against the backdrop of the ocean was charming. Thanks for sharing!

Loved the video, love your plants the Camélia is beautiful and the wild white Cana Lily is one of my favourites reminds me of when I lived back home, but I do love all flowers and plants… also love your table, looks very nice… Zena is so cute looking out the door, yes they can sense when the weather is bad, great day to snuggle, you don’t have to shovel rain, like we had to these passed days. It’s beautiful even on a stormy day, and you guys are so lucky to have this beautiful view, enjoy each minute! Hugs ❤
Figures, you come out with a video saying how beautiful it is on Pico and we get a snow storm in the GTA and the temperature is dropping to minus double digits this week. 😄I would take the rain over snow any day, look at all the green plants on Pico flowering in January. Take care.

I had seen videos of a lot of washouts and flooding in areas of Pico due to all that rain. The rental property is looking great.

Snails are delicious in a butter garlic sauce, served on a thick slice of bread. Since they are not in a can (!) find a recipe on how to clean them. Bon appétit!

...but...work needs to be done in Dublin and, I'm just home from 2 week's on Santiago island in Cape Verde.and 29 degree C....wow..waves like in the Azores and, lovely, lovely people...even the humpback dropped by like hundreds of dolphins...
These Portugese people knows how to find the very best places on our planet but, like I think I hear in this video Laura...the language is "interesting"...I don't think I could ever learn Portugese and, the creol as spoken in Cape Verde...another impossible language 😊

I hope that everyone in the North Atlantic survived the storm reasonably well. The storm "Hipólito" caused flooding, heavy rain, road closures and a lot of damage. Up to 100l/m2 of rain fell in some places. In the Central Group of the Azores: Faial, Pico (i love and miss this island so much), São Jorge, Graciosa & Terceira - the wind reached speeds of up to 130km/h in places. Please take good care of yourselves..., because we need you❤️ Bjorn
Most of us made it through the storm without too many problems,. The island of Faial in the area of Horta got a bit of damage, maybe a few other places. Glad your with us on our journey, we will keep on sharing. Take care, Bjorn

Put a low dish of beer out in your garden, and it will attract the slugs and snails to it, and away from your plants

We love lemon grass, it looks great on the garden. We have a lot of lava rock, lava gravel and lava soil. A whole lotta lava!!! Take care!

Good morning. I was watching the video in as much detail as possible and there seems to be a damp spot in the corner of the wooden floor when Xena is looking outside through the sliding door through which the oval table entered. I hope I'm wrong because it would be a shame for this to happen after so much time and money was invested into rehabilitating this house. That's why the dehumidifier is so necessary to make the interior more cozy than it already is. Regarding Hipõlito depression, the video made by Mr. António Faria is very clear about what happened. In fact, this gentleman's videos are also invaluable, providing a huge "public service" and using a drone so that the diaspora also stays connected and updated on what is happening in the Azores archipelago
Good morning! You are not wrong, there is an area by the door & corner of the back extension wall that has a water leek, we are working on it. Mr Antonio Faria's videos show the island and people a different way, this is why they are important and we continue share them. Take good care!

Sorry, not sure what you mean. Is it a full day island tour? They start at 175 euros, half day around 100 euros. Take care!
