Liz, you have perhaps the prettiest and most impressive succulent collection I've ever seen! I think you've got just about every succulent there is in the book. How do you "keep tabs" on them? I know for myself, I have to keep records of the dates that I've either watered or feed them. And I only have five plants total! I have an Agave attenuata, a jade (Crassula ovata), an echeveria (Perle von Nurnberg), orange Bird of Paradise (Strelitzia reginae) and a "Traveler's Palm" (Ravanala madagascariensis), which is my pride and joy. I ordered the "Traveler" from an online store called Urban Tropicals out of Hampton, Florida. You may have seen or read about them. Anyway, congratulations on your impressive and beautiful collection!
I'm so envious Dale. Traveler's Palm is one of my "wish list" plant but can't grow here in Canberra because of the frost. When it comes to succulent, I seem to remember everything about them but I can't keep track of my indoor plants. Thanks for watching and wishing you all the very best for the New Year.
Good timing. Just seen my Purple Delight yesterday afternoon & it has burnt tips as we have had 3 crazy hot days of 43 degrees ( Celsius ) in Perth. It only gets a few hours in afternoon sun. Thankfully it seems okay-ish. Like you, I got babies galore & PD seems quite a hardy grower. The colour is so pretty!
How nice your plants everytime i wacth your vidio i envy you very nice .i hope ican have your beautiful sacculent..merry christmass and happy new year.am always you from the philippine...
Merry Christmas and Many Blessings for the New Year, Liz! 🙏🏼❤️ catching up after being sick for a month ( NO Covid ) then busy with shopping & grand children. 2 more coming! I think of you always with Love. 🙏🏼❤️🕊
Hi Liz, I wanted to ask about planting leaf propagations for purple delight and what soil you would use. Would coconut coir be okay in the beginning after the leaves have roots, at what point would you move them into a succulent soil mix? Thanks
The fastest soil mix for this plant in my opinion is my Intermediate soil mix. My other soil mixes have their specific purpose. Master soil mix for no watering for long time, Advance for prettifying, Coconut coir for fast rooting but needs frequent watering. Tropical Soil mix for color and rainy season. If grown in coco coir...the plant will have a stress look to let you know it's not getting enough nutrients...then need to transfer.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK Would you do a video about purple succulents. Sometimes its confusing for me to ID them😁. Theres your purple delight, debbie, superbum, purple haze, purple delight, purple dreams, maybe theres more I didnt know. Others I can Id PVN,cubic frost etc.
I just have to say you could sell ice cream in North Pole. But your fervent love has infected me! You have taught me not to stress about losing plants. I am 99% failure at propagation. I really like the echy crystal. I need help! The big question from me is. Water from bottom or top?
Depends on the plant, where you place them, what soil mix you have them in and whether you like them pristine looking (farina intact). I myself prefer to water from the top as this saves me a lot of time. The really dry ones in small pots, I soak them and also sometimes submerge them(drown).
Pill bugs are friends to your succulents. They don't actually eat succulents. The slugs however is a different story. Have you tried using beer in a container and place somewhere near but far enough from your plants? They love the scent and will go to it, drink and drown.
They are the most unlikable succulent, I neglected my purple delight because it turned ugly, etiolated and left out full sun, full rain and it didn't die
I love, love them ,I can watch over and over again.
These just made it to my Succulent Wish List! Them and Burritos. You have convinced me I can't live without either one of them!!! 💚

i need to order one of those why you can't request a wishlist for your succulent box ?

My pleasure! Thanks for watching.
I wish these can be as prolific in the Philippines, as it is in where you are right now.
Love it
Just got me a superbum. I was wondering if a PVN does well for you out in the open?
Yes they do. The tips gets a teeny bit of frostbite when temps goes down to -6°C but they recover fast.
Can they be grown indoors?
It will grow beautifully indoors with the use of a grow light.
Yey! I’m so glad to hear this because I’m so smitten by them. They are so gorgeous 😍. I’m determined to get Purple Delight in my small collection.

In my place there are many big pill bugs and slugs. They like to eat my graptoveria purple delight and ghost plant.

Succulents are like that when you neglect them they grow if you keep on checking on them they die 😂 funny living things.
