I don't know if you believe with this superstition but I do believe in this, I always ask for plants and always ask that the owner will personally take them from their mother plants and give them to me personally because I believe they have feelings too and will know if they are being stolen and will soon die in the hands of the thieves.

WHAT. Aahhhhh. It sucks how people act sometimes. You shouldn’t have to be paranoid about theft. I would be tempted... _to take a photo!_ but then I saw how far your plants were set from the sidewalk and realized I wouldn’t dare step onto your property even for a picture of your lovely plants. Someone really had some gall. 😤
I had a potted arrangement stolen during the night once, and also one time happened to look out the window as a lady pushing a stroller yanked a tulip out of my garden and handed it to her baby when he cried out for it. I get that it’s a kid, but you’re also kinda teaching your kiddo to take whatever he wants without thinking about it.
Unfortunately you might want to set up a security camera. Sorry this happened to you! This is the reason we can’t have nice things. Lovely that it turned into a happy science experiment though!

This was so helpful👍🏻 I still struggle with echeveria species): That’s putting it mildly; I kill them over and over again . Somehow when I gave up , one ( in a pot arrangement of Kalanchoe hildebrandt, chocolate soldier, and sedum salsa ) was thriving: Graptoveria opalina. I’m here at this moment trying to learn what I did right for this plant. I have leaf cuttings of it that are doing well too. I suspect that the light exposure and soil mix that I used in the past were not sufficient . In the three years since I started , I have researched a lot and now buy my own substrates to make the best home for each variety of succulent I buy. I have luck thus far with all Except Echeveria /:
So thank you for this video again, it helped more than you know(:

Such a shame people will just help themselves to other peoples property. Luckily my house in in a cul de sac so not many people walk past besides the neighbours. Thank you for the useful information about more water for leaf propagations. 🙏🏽 I have 2 trays I will try this with now. It’s end of spring here so will make sure to water more often. I haven't had any plants stolen yet but a few years back someone (neighborhood kids, most likely) came up on my sidewalk, took a pair of empty small 1.5-2" pots I had sitting out for decoration, and shattered them on the road next to my driveway. One was painted with owls and the other had wavy patterns etched in it. I was less than happy.
On topic, if someone were to ask me for a cutting I'd probably be happy to provide one. But outright stealing just saddens me. At least you had a number of leaves left behind and successfully propagated most from what you showed! Succulents never cease to amaze me.

Would you tell us a little more about your growing wall? Did you plant directly into soil that fills the shelves? Does it cause the wood to rot because of the moisture? Or do your shelves have a screen bottom? I am running out of space and need to start going upward. Thanks for any advice you can give. I bought your 120 collection and it was a wonderful birthday present for me but I don’t want to leave the starters on the ground because I am having a hard time controlling slugs and snails. It truly is awful that someone stole one of your plants - some people are just hideous... how can they ever truly enjoy it knowing that they took it from someone else? I have a hard time with grapto- anything, because of it's hypersensitivity to overwatering, I like to blame it on the fact that potting soil has lost all it's sand and turned into potting wood and lava! 🤪. But since I started structuring my water, I'm getting 5 or 6 Echeveria babies from one leaf! I think my lighting isn't enough for grapto-succulents, but babies fit in the windowsills! I love plants. When I come across I really like and is in someone's yard, I simply walk up to the door and knock. They may or may not answer. But when they do. I assure them I'm not trying to sell them anything and simply compliment them on their flowers. Then I proceed to ask them if I can have a clipping and they actually give them to me and they are more than actually happy to give them to me all because I asked it's that simple just ask you will be surprised how many people will actually give them to you. This method has never failed me and usually I swapped them with something that I have and they'll take it.

Well, the person who stole your succulent is also quite kind hearted to leave a few leaves behind for you.

I'm so very sorry someone took your beautiful succulents ! That is the most awful thing to do to someone, wow! On the flip side, you sure did propagate GORGEOUS babies! I'm very new to the succulent world and already in love & refuse to say how much $ I've spent in the last 10 days 🤣 let's pray they live! I did request your pdf and I look forward to reading !

I love your succulents They make me crazy You have a lovely voice .I watch your videos and I want to make a succulent wall. I am from India and temp in summer here is very high. Can you please suggest how to make the bottom portion of the shelf to drain out excess water and what all precautions to be taken while preparing it🪴🌹🌝🌝😇😇

With the succulent wall, as long there is hole at the bottom of your planter, you should not worry about the plants getting more water than needed. Make sure to provide some sun protection during hot summer.

Saludos desde Puerto Rico. What I did was to install a Night Owl (camera system) to suppress temptation, so people can walk by and enjoy the view. If they ask me, I give them cutting so they can grow their own succulent garden.
