  • The new iFlight crystal is a very good option if you want to upgrade your DJI googles antennas, It gives you more range and it is much more comfortable to use because you don't need to disassemble the antennas every time.

    For this setup, with stationary patch no matter the port plugged into, patch works best plugged into bottom, with omni on top. Some patches directly connect to port instead of mid stationary placement of these, I suspect patches would be better on top for better signal coverage. I'm going to get these, connect to bottom ports, then use my vas crosshair extremes on top and see how it does. Great video btw! Subscribed.

    Have the V2s, with this set up. Omnis on the bottom. I went 600'+ looking the other direction with my racing quad.. no obstructions, but absolutely no break up. Go through woods you have a problem, these antennas are 100% better than stock DJI's.

    I believe there isn't much doubt that having the patches improves for line of sight distance, and perhaps penetration when within the directional beam. But how are the Crystal patches + Omni stubbies for scenarios where you are regularly flying around you (ie you're in the middle of your flight circuit, rather than one end). Are they as equal, better or worse than stock for when the quad is behind you...

    • @OMRC_FPV
      @OMRC_FPV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I flown for couple days with the patch on bottom and omni on top and on my regular flying close to me i saw a small improvement in mbps.

    Did you test on V2 DJI goggles? If not, wonder how that will change it up with the assigned TX/RX antennas.

    • @TLK22
      @TLK22 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      V1 use 5GHz and V2 use 2.4 + 5GHz so the antenna are not the same. There will probably be after market antenna for the V2 available soon.

    • @OMRC_FPV
      @OMRC_FPV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TLK22 actually JB says that if you intend to use the V2 only with the AU or vista is preferred to use 5.8ghz antenna only (V1) in order to get better reception, because the 2.4ghz is only for dji fpv drone, so when I get the V2 I will put the iFlight crystal on them for sure

    • @TLK22
      @TLK22 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@OMRC_FPV I did not understand that part and wanted to watch it again. It's good to know but since I own both version, I will keep the v2 for the dji drone only... I installed the crystal on my v1 today and tested it for the first time.

    I think that for a better yield the omindirectional antennas must be mounted on the upper side and the direct panels on the lower output

  • @OurSweetHideout

    When you say 25mw is that on goggles ?
    Have you tried boosting the power output to 500 or 700mw?

    • @ofekz360
      @ofekz360 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      On the dji fpv system you can only change the mW from the sitting menu on the goggles, so you I was using 25mW
      The point of this test is to see what will be the difference on the worse case scenario
      Using higher power output will make the results less sensitive to the change in the environment

    • @OurSweetHideout
      @OurSweetHideout 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ofekz360 appreciate your answer, I’m thinking whether I need to upgrade soon or stick to stock, and just increase power output to 700 or 1200mw

    • @OMRC_FPV
      @OMRC_FPV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The stock antenna are great the main reason I upgraded is because I got tired of removing the antenna every time I put the goggles back in the case
      There is no need to use 1200mW I’m just running 700mW all the time and have no problem

    • @OurSweetHideout
      @OurSweetHideout 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OMRC_FPV thanks again, I heard it’s better to replace them cause they are so long and hardly fit in any bag comfortably so maybe I’ll look into it… would be annoying to take them off all the time so these ones fit perfectly well with the given DJI pouch?

    Fly and test 25mw seriously? All PASSIVES antennas not worth the money. Just money making marketing! Stock DJI antennas work perfectly with FCC 700mw and easy penetrate over 3-4km. With 1200mW can do easy 5-6km in field...Don`t buy this trash if you don`t fly REAL LONG RANGE over 6km+. And then I really doubt their effectiveness. For LONG RANGE more better TrueRC SNIPER II 13.5 dBic or any Helical 14dBic

    • @DeadNoob451
      @DeadNoob451 ปีที่แล้ว

      The channel Wezley varty did testing on these and they work way better even at full power. Guy went all the way out to the 13.3 km max range of the system.
      The stock dji ones are just a bit budget. Fine for a few km but struggle to keep up bitrate at long ranges.
