    Interesting find. From what I’ve seen patch antennas also have a bit better penetration for concrete structures. My friend who runs patch antennas can fly with clearer video than me with my CP antennas.
    I do like the form factor also. That way it will still fit in the stock case without removing the antennas which have a limited mating cycle

    Very good video Albert. I fly freestyle and still have some analog quads around so I use the DJI goggles with the BDI Digitapter and the truerc stubbies work fantastic. The crystal HD won't work in my case as the Digitapter already uses the face plate to be able to fit my rapidfire module.

    Nice I’ve been waiting for your review since you’re always neutral! Looks like a slight improvement but I think the main advantage to all these dji antennas is the form factor more than anything. I get crazy range with stock ones already and i have a special foam mold to put them in my bag, so I guess I’ll stick with them.

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I feel like the way I have it is best but others disagree and do the opposite. What I tell people is to try both ways and see what they like better. I think it may have a lot to do with where one flies and the kinds of interference one might experience that will lead to different results for every pilot.

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've found that having the omni's on top seem to give better signal for near to medium range. If you fly long range, reverse it and use super long omni antennas on the bottom for optimal range. This is on the V1 of course. The V2 results are kinda all over the place. I've heard many conflicting stories that I can't verify as I don't have the V2 goggles.

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I've been using these for a long time and have not switched back. These are more directional so you have to point the antennas at your quad to get the best reception. Also, the antenna on the quad is pretty important too. I've run into a lot of people who had bad antennas on the quad and they thought it was this antenna but it took a long time to figure that out!

    I wish they made one that can work in conjunction with an analog adapter. The main reason I switched to DJI was because I could still run analog (using the BDI adapter)

    Would you just lose multipath ability and gain range? Are they only to consider for long range pilots, or would it be good for trees, bit of extra punch for canopy? Can they be used every day? I got those furious fpv stubbies whilst waiting because cheap to try,.and they're great in trees.
    The 2 omnis are for close anyway, so losing range in close isn't the payoff for losing 2 more omnis and gaining a patch surely. Could it be all stubbies is better concrete/bando/multipath. Whereas foliage which is absorbent might benefit from crystal? even freestyle ranges?
