The E-Class Coupe replaced the CLK in 2009, the change in name signifying a slight increase in size for Mercedes' stylish two-door model. Style is important in the coupe marketplace and the E-Class Coupe delivers, with the sharp edges, quad headlamps and a sweeping roofline creating a dramatic shape. It's quite practical too, with a large boot and useable rear seats. A wide choice of engines and two trim levels mean there's an E-Class Coupé for almost all tastes, although surprisingly there's no high-performance AMG flagship.

I love mine. Best car I ever bought. The air filled seats are so comfortable and it goes like a spaceship. You put your foot down and there's no fuss.... You're literally teleported down the road. I am the very happiest Mercedes convert!
Ive got a 350cdi coming on thurday and cant wait. Come from an Audi which are okish but find the drive and looks of most of them dull so cant wait for mine :)
@@MavenProductions247 I'm sure you'll love it. Just had mine remapped and it's mental! I had to upgrade the tyres and learn to put the throttle down smoothly....

There are loads of cars you second glance at before walking off; after all, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder my dear!
Watch out for the oil cooler seals known issue - £10 part but £1000 in labour to get to it.

No matter how luxusious a car is, in all brands the glove box always seems like an afterthought...like the leftovers from dashboard design.
Well, at least we have one thing in common. We both like Volvos. VW shares their platforms with Audi to keep costs down. That isn't a problem at all because their platforms are great, and when you drive a car, you don't constantly think about what platform the car uses.

Mercedes have always made beautiful designs for their interiors. The one thing that I've NEVER liked about them though is their vertical center dashboard. It looks like a cheap Saturn or Chevy center console.

Correct, the E-Class Coupe has replaced the CLK. Except, now Mercedes-Benz has decided to rename the 2016 C-Class Coupe and call it the CLK. They're doing so to compete with the all-new BMW 4-Series Coupe and the Audi A5.

@@klad6963 I have had no issues with mine, as with any car worth making sure service history is up to date... at around 65k the gear box oil needs to be changed ... make sure it has been. I made sure mine had full merc history. Up to you on that, but it's worth it in my opinion... Good luck 👍

Hey, I never said anything against BMW, I just said I'd take a merc over a beemer anyday... I know the BMW quality and driving experience is awesome, I'm just not too keen on their styling to be completly honest... In my oppinion both marques make very good cars in terms of quality, but I love driving mercs and I prefer their styling. It's as simple as that, I'm not taking part in no BMW vs. Mercedes-Benz war or anyting like that. Oh, and I don't like the BMW drivers' image and reputation...

few years ago there was c coupe and clk , then they continued to make c coupe and cancelled clk, replacing it with e coupe. so now there are both c and e coupe.

Golf isn't crap, but many Mercedes and luxury car owners, like my family, have to transport golf bags. It's common among high end car buyers.
an e coupe is basically a c class, just a bit bigger, closer to the three than the 5 series in that respect
Yes but a 3-series comes in coupe, where the 5-series doesn't. That's what she's getting at. You can get a sizable luxury coupe 3-series that may be more fitted for a drive through the country.

You mean 6 series, because 6 series is basically a coupe version of 5 series.
It can't be true, you're wrong, Mercedes Benz it's not Citroen/Peugeot/Opel, etc, to share chassis, especially between classes and the CLC it's the compact model of C Class, diffent body, different story than the new C Class Coupe, this E Class it's the revived version of the w124 coupe from the late 80's.

Its fantastic that the UK is in such a recession. It means no one can afford cars, meaning that the UK second hand market it so cheap. Check out gumtree. Never thought I could afford one of these.... now a decent 3/4 year old merc is only 18-20k.
Still, that is alot of money and its not like telling them to build a whole new factory for it, do it as they do with the C, E, CLS, etc... classes, put the AMG model in the production line but instead of giving it the usual suspension and other parts, add the AMG parts then install the engine.
Furthermore, Mercedes-Benz is going to make the next generation E-Class Coupe in AMG. They've realized a mistake was made in 2006 when they decided to not produce AMG version of the E-Coupe AMG.
Who wouldn't want to arrive at a destination in an MB?... I'd rather arrive in a Interceptor...
true that the new AMG line up is 5.5l the one's before the facelift are 6.2 tho...
actually e550(for usa) and e500 made instead of the amg version and there's no amg version because to sell c63 amg coupe
Yes but there is no coupe version of the 5-series so this is as close as it gets.

Not for the coupé however, the e class coupé is not based on the E class sedan's chassis, instead it is based on the C class sedan's, making it actually a 3 series competitor.

Rebecca should review some sports/fast cars. She has never done those before...I mean she is a very good reviewer, but she doesn't do fast cars very much

You said 'Audi is just an extended wheelbase VW Golf', again, I'm making myself very clear here, Audi isn't a car. There's no car in the world that's called 'Audi'. If you were more specific, it would make sense because you're naming actual cars. I have to disagree with your other comment. Audi makes great cars, as does BMW, but Mercedes is far ahead of Audi and BMW, and when the new S-Class is announced, Mercedes will increase the gap even more.
How do Mercs have one over BMW? BMW is more of a drivers car, I think Mercs are a bit more sophisticated.

As I've already said, you (all of you) can stick to your "ultimate driving machines"... Everybody is entitled to their oppinions, but I stick to mine: i'd take a merc over a beemer anyday... Mercs also look better than BMWs imo.

BMW's are great to drive, I never said anything about that, but they need to get a new designer. Their current one is blind. By the way, I own a 2011 A8 and a silver E46 M3, and both cars are great. You BMW fangirls are what ruin BMW.
If you wanna buy E500 v8, better take the 2011+ model, it has a twin-turbo v8 :)

Honestly, it doesn't do anything for me. I'd take the sedan over this. Though, I'd take a 5-Series over an E-Class any day.

For the same reason BMW makes the M6. There are alot of people who will buy the E63 Coupe.
