- With X-Men '97 on everyone's mind, I figured it was time to compare that team of Mutants with the MCU's Avengers to see if the Earth's Mightiest Heroes have been surpassed by the Uncanny X-Men!

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is an American media franchise and shared universe centered on a series of superhero films produced by Marvel Studios. The films are based on characters that appear in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The franchise also includes television series, short films, digital series, and literature. The shared universe, much like the original Marvel Universe in comic books, was established by crossing over common plot elements, settings, cast, and characters.
Marvel Studios releases its films in groups called "Phases", with the first three phases collectively known as "The Infinity Saga" and the following three phases as "The Multiverse Saga". The first MCU film, Iron Man (2008), began Phase One which culminated in the 2012 crossover film The Avengers. Phase Two began with Iron Man 3 (2013) and concluded with Ant-Man (2015), while Phase Three began with Captain America: Civil War (2016) and concluded with Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019). Black Widow (2021) is the first film in Phase Four, which concluded with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022), while Phase Five began with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023) and will conclude with Thunderbolts* (2025). Phase Six will begin with The Fantastic Four (2025) and it will conclude with Avengers 5 (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027).
Marvel Television expanded the universe to network television with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC in 2013 before further expanding to streaming television on Netflix and Hulu and to cable television on Freeform. They also produced the digital series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Slingshot. Marvel Studios began producing their own television series for streaming on Disney+, starting with WandaVision in 2021 as the beginning of Phase Four. They also expanded to television specials in Phase Four, known as Marvel Studios Special Presentations, the first of which was Werewolf by Night (2022). The MCU includes tie-in comics published by Marvel Comics, a series of direct-to-video short films called Marvel One-Shots, and viral marketing campaigns for the films featuring the faux news programs WHIH Newsfront and The Daily Bugle.
The franchise has been commercially successful, becoming one of the highest-grossing media franchises of all time, and it has received generally positive reviews from critics. The studio attributed several Multiverse Saga projects performing below expectations to the increase in the amount of content being produced post-Endgame, and began decreasing its content output from 2024. The MCU has inspired other film and television studios to attempt similar shared universes and has also inspired several themed attractions, an art exhibit, television specials, literary material, multiple tie-in video games, and commercials.
X-Men '97 is an American animated television series created by Beau DeMayo for the streaming service Disney+, based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the X-Men. It is a revival of X-Men: The Animated Series (1992-1997), continuing the story of the X-Men who face new challenges following the loss of their leader, Professor X. X-Men '97 is produced by Marvel Studios, via its Marvel Animation label, with DeMayo as head writer for the first two seasons and Jake Castorena as supervising director.
Ray Chase, Jennifer Hale, Alison Sealy-Smith, Cal Dodd, J. P. Karliak, Lenore Zann, George Buza, A. J. LoCascio, Holly Chou, Isaac Robinson-Smith, Matthew Waterson, Ross Marquand, and Adrian Hough star as members of the X-Men. Sealy-Smith, Dodd, Zann, Buza, and Hough reprised their roles from the original series, as did Christopher Britton. Original series stars Catherine Disher, Chris Potter, Alyson Court, Lawrence Bayne, and Ron Rubin returned to voice new characters.
The revival was first discussed in June 2019 and formally announced in November 2021, with DeMayo and Castorena attached. Chase Conley and Emi Yonemura also directed episodes. DeMayo was fired as head writer in March 2024 after completing work on the first two seasons. The series is the first X-Men project from Marvel Studios since the company regained the film and television rights to the characters. Animation was provided by Studio Mir and Tiger Animation, and is a modernized version of the original series' style.
X-Men '97 premiered on March 20, 2024, with its first two episodes. The rest of the ten-episode first season was released weekly until May 15. A second season is in production and a third is in development.

I'm glad Crisis scaled the MCU avengers properly. I was expecting the X-Men to stomp the avengers because most TH-cam Power scalers downplay the hell out of MCU characters.

Im glad CRISIS didn't include loki, wanda, the guardians and everyone in Endgame. Yes the avengers would win but its not interesting to say that wanda one shots everyone and the numbers of Endgame would overpower the Xmen. But its not interesting to say that. The match wouldn't be very fun to think about.

Awesome video Crisis, was actually wondering who'd win between MCU Ultron and Bastion from 97 when considering their technopathy and robot/sentinel armies, I think that'd be an awesome fight considering Ultron hasn't really interacted with any sentinel villains in the comics
I love this because remember Bastion is a Mutant but he is Technology in the Flesh so without ever getting merged in with nimrod and mastermold at birth he would still be a technopath so he’s just OP unlike ultron who is a very very advanced AI which I feel like his IQ takes the cake but even as little humanity that bastion has he has miles more than ultron

Iron man's suit can be explained. His Mark 45 Armor was made of Chrome Gold titanium alloy with thicker platings to avoide damage. Which also limited him to using his repulsors and lazer rays. He basically had no room in the armor to add more weapons as it was made for durability. Also, this armor focuses on stable energy output, which also makes the Mark 45 the fastest armor in his arsenal to that point.
The Mark 46 however has been made for utility rather then durability and speed which does make it easier for him in terms of ranged combat. It is also the first armor which utilizes micro storage technology which is also a form of prototype for the mark 50's Nanotech. This micro storage unit makes the armorplates thinner to acomodate more weapons and utilize the micro storage unit on the armor. Which is why Captain America was able to chack his armor by focusing his Vibranium shield on one point of the armor.

As a marvel fan I have to say that The avengers is Earth's mightiest heroes but the X-Men are the most powerful team of all time because they're mutants

Hawkeye Black Widdow Steve Rogers and Iron Man are irrelevant in a fight against basically half the X-Men. Rogue, Morph, Storm, Jean, and even Bishop are in a different tier. Thor and Hulk are great, but all Storm has to do is freeze the air around most Avengers creating a huge fog and they would not be able to breathe.
Tony stark always found a way to put in a fight, against anything or anyone.

The Avengers would dominate even more if they scaled to the speed of Captain Marvel as in about a dozen seconds she flew from Hala to its star. Although we don’t know the distance between the two points she still travels millions of miles she has to be somewhat far away because if they were about as close as Mercury is to the Sun then the Kree would be dead.
If even erik lensherr can come up with a helmet to block Charles Xavier's psychic attack, the guys who created nano tech and time travel devices can whip up a blocker.

I’d argue that the X-Men have *waaay* better team synergy and would be able to defeat the Avengers via teamwork until they stop at Thor who. I also noticed that are x-men that are on the roster left unmentioned, I.e, Nightcrawler, who could probably have a decent sway in team strategy. Like I understand wanting to make the teams in this video sorta even, number wise, but there are more actual x-men opposed to there being some fringe avengers.
Nightcrawler is fringe in TAS, literally a second tier character in the writers bible. If anything I toned down the number of Avengers.

If this is all presuming Jean can’t access the Phoenix, then fair analysis. Agree with the overall analysis, only having few nitpicks.
I also think you guys are sleeping on Rogue, since she has gone toe-to-toe with Gladiator. Not to mention you guys did not mention that the team had been fighting Bastion and the Sentinels the entire time. While there is no contest that Magneto is the strongest member, we can’t say that the team were at their peak with literal visible injuries on them.

Dosn't matter who is stronger or who is weaker on each team. At the end of the day, it comes down to teamwork. Taking down the weeker enemy first would be an advantage as there will be more members on the winning side. Which means if one fight is one sided among the teams, then we will have a winner.

A video on who are exactly Marvel's top 10 greatest heroes would be interesting. I know its always subjective but I think good opinions can be made based on which heroes (or sometimes anti-heroes) have become the biggest icons and household names. MY list is starting with what I consider the Elite 8 is:
1. Spider-Man
2. Wolverine
3. Captain America
4. Iron Man
5. Hulk
6. Thor
7. Deadpool
8. Venom
My remaining heroes are Storm, Daredevil and Punisher. I chose three instead of two in case someone doesn't think Venom should be listed (its debatable, I know). Or hey, we could also just make it a top 11. Let me know your thoughts.

My thoughts on the Mark 46 is it was more portable and there for being less durable. Captain America cannot do damage on par with what Iron Man has taken in the previous movies.
Tony does not make less durable armors then previous ones. The 46 was the first suit to incorporate primitive nanotech, that's why it was as portable.

I think avengers win in both movies and comics. Phoenix force doesn’t even matter anymore since it’s been said (and shown) that Thor is a solution to it.
Cyclops with the phoenix force was literally destroying the avengers and the X-men all together, including Thor. And Jean with the phoenix is more powerful than Scott

Seems strange to compare 10+ years of Avengers power scaling to the first 10 episodes (1 season) of an X-Men reboot. Not to mention, you kind of left out some key players for the X-men.
I'm taking into account 5 seasons of the original X-Men show as well as 97, and only considered the core rosters of both teams. The entire MCU Avengers VS every TAS X-Man is an even bigger stomp.
Yo i wanted to point out a scaling i just found about insomniac spider-man. In the first game there is a research station side mission where peter is trying to find high points of pressure under the streets of New York. He performs a ground slam to produce seismic waves all over new york that can be detected through a satellite, considering all the objects and buildings in manhattan I calculated this feat from very high city level to mountain level i will show the calculations.

I do think BP was seemingly pretty OP mainly due to his anger/motive. If others on the team had that drive in them due to a loved one getting murdered….I think maybe they’d be on a level like that, more so than their norm.

I have to disagree. I think Cap is a better Black widow. He did better against Bucky, Black panther, etc. Cap probably would have defeated Taskmater a lot faster than Black Widow did.

Xavier alone, or Jean alone, non the less together could wipe each of the Avengers minds from across the world (I dont think electric arrows are going to be effective), Only one of them has a chance to resist (Hulk) and he tends to side with the mutants. Cyclops alone is in many ways a match for Cap, as an acrobatic combatant leader who makes extensive use of spatial awareness, and of Iron Man as Cyc is also a source of endless exotic energy, and he's a force-projector, but just to be safe lets add Beast to team Cyc. Now to the nity gritty. As the weapon X logan was trained and designed to be an agent capable of taking on the Hulk, and he'd cut arrowboy, widow, fury, maybe-cap, and defo Iron-man into bloody bits with brutal ease.

Why do you believe that the same Wolverine who fought the Hulk for days alone would lose to either Hawkeye or Black Widow? Why is it not taken into account that the X-men already know the Avengers abilities, skills, and tactics, but the MCU Avengers have never encountered the X-men and are fighting blind?

It’s hard to accurately judge unfortunately, due to one’s definition of “more powerful”. Sure the avengers obviously seem to have more physical prowess and feats, but the X-men have Jean, whose telekinetic and telepathic abilities render most physical attacks kinda useless. Storm is immune to weather, which makes her immune to thors lightning. Rogues strength and durability equal captain marvel, who held her own better than anyone against thanos. And then there’s always the X-men’s surprise ‘I win’ button, since Jean is one death away from going Phoenix, which isn’t even a fight anymore 🙃
I’m not saying the X-men would necessarily win, but it wouldn’t be as much of a landslide as it seems either. All depends on countless circumstances in the end 🤷🏻♂️
You aren't taking into account how much weaker the 97' xmen are. Jean never faced anyone as strong as mcu hulk, or Thor so her telekinesis wouldn't stop them. Same thing with storm vs thor, storm has never faced a being as strong as thor's godly magical lightning which she wouldn't be immune to and if she is he can just use his bare hands and stormbreaker which killed thanos. Rogue in 97' is nowhere near captain marvel? Idky you assumed that since these are two different universe's and rogue hasn't demonstrated star level attack power or lightspeed feats, she isn't on her level.
