Saw the film yesterday. I thought it was good. The songs were great, and so was the singer, who I only found out afterwards is very ably portrayed by Shyamalan's daughter. Not one of this director's best, but still really good. The pop concert setting was very realistic.
People don't know the meaning of Nepotism. When a Hollywood star or director or producer calls another director and says give my son a job. that's nepo. For Shyamalan it's a family business. They fund it themselves and they work hard for it...they don't live in Hollywood nor did Shyamalan call another director or studio and requested that they give his daughter a job....he creates jobs. BTW...watch the speech he gave...it's phenomenal...it's called "2018 Drexel Commencement - M Night Shyamalan Speech"
Hubby and I love it. So many people didn’t get it! It’s high camp! Hartnett just killed that role (😅) and we had great fun watching him contort his face to be over the top endearing and over the top menacing. Well done, Josh and M Night! On the downside 🫤 Saleka should not have been given a speaking role. She is not an actress. 😖
I thought it was an homage to 80s horror films. People went in with expectations that they shouldn’t have. M went out to create a horror movie and he did. I appreciate it for what it is 💯
Hey! Yes, it does! There's a false ending you think is going to happen and then an entirely different second half happens. I highly recommend seeing it!
If there's someone similar to a Donald Pleasance character it's probably creepy. He's one of those actors I associate with bad guys. Who else has portrayed the Devil, Ernst Blofeld and Heinrich Himler? He also played Pontius Pilate and was a bad guy in the Count of Monte Cristo with Richard Chamberlain.
His hair actually looks a lot better now. When you see him in films when hes younger it def looks lik le he has a calic towards the back. It was always sticking up but now days its more laid down and must have fixed it somehow
I see nothing wrong with Night helping to promote his daughters music and acting career with all the money and resources he has it makes sense he would use his global platform to promote his daughter and I hear she is not that bad idk why people are dragging her
@@RavensOsFan89 thank you! I’ll check yours out too. Being at the premiere and excited for it probably colored my initial reaction but I can see the criticisms of it now as well.
Cant wait to see this! The trailer looks insane and i could be guessing because being a huge hartnett fan and the blend of serial killers with a taylor swift type enviroment and shylamans signature twists that this could be his best film in a long time.
The ending fell flat on its face. "The killer gets caught and arrested at the end"? Really? More mass appeal, good-guy-wins-bad-guy-loses feel-good by-the-numbers saccharine-sweet crap? Incredibly disappointing from M. Night Shyamalan. For a director renowned for his clever twist endings, he didn't exactly bring his A-game here. I could easily write at least two different endings that would have played far better: one where the Butcher is part of the "supers" introduced in Glass (e.g. his psychopathy is a hidden psychological superpower perfectly adapted for predating on modern man), and one where his story is separate from that timeline. Either way, M. Night Shyamalan got paid far too much to churn out a morality tale doing its best to pose as a thriller.
@@thewebstylist I’ve been on a few tv shows and and I feel like I have a pretty good eye for picking out hair pieces, but his hair looks real. Josh Hartnett’s hair has been talked about since 1998😂. It’s thick but very fine and will not be controlled no matter what they do. For kicks, check out some of the end credits to his films. Everybody has a hairdresser mentioned but Josh. 😆

Also in the trailer when they show the guy working at the concession stand being like ya dont tell anyone i told you its a trap or ill get fired! I think thats all part of the process law enforcement in this film was to let all the workers know because they knew they wouldnt all keep a secret that big so they were probably hoping someone would slip up to the wrong person and start getting nervous, making mistakes and doing things out if the ordinary to not get caught. Where would you rank this on Shyamalan’s filmography?
Also, I love Josh Hartnett’s hair. Leave my boy alone. 😂
