"Epiphany" is one of 2 songs on Folklore that needs to be heard in it´s album form, the production on this song on the album is like healing. The long pond studio sessions film is amazing and you need to watch the whole thing🥰

Great reaction! You’re correct, listening to the discussion of the song beforehand makes a big difference! She does this for all her songs on Folklore, and I wish she did it for more albums.

She seems to have an old soul.
I’ve not heard this one either, but I think of my WW11 father tearing up on News anniversary shows on the war.
    So I’m crying!
    Good one.

Thank you so much for doing this song! It has a special meaning for me because there are so many things I saw working as a nurse during Covid that I just couldn’t process and speak about. It was very stange time I never want to relive! Thank you for doing this song for me it is very special song for me and othered heath care workers!

Thank you for suggesting this Amanda.
I couldn’t listen to this song until I was ready to work through some of the pandemic trauma. I still can’t listen to it without crying. But now, each time is more cathartic crying than it was before. And I only worked in medsurg. It seems like the ER, CCU, and PCU RNs got it the worst.

By now you understand that Taylor has a wide range of musical genres and styles. And you know that her live performance and music videos are great. I would love to see you react to these fan favorites:

I fully second doing Exile. Bon Iver (Justin Vernon) has a HUGE vocal range and is an absolute fantastic addition to this song. They mesh so beautifully together.

She has such a gorgeous way of vocalizing others’ experiences and emotions without having to experience them herself. I read a comment on here calling her an old soul and they couldn’t be more correct. Great reaction btw

One of my favourite songs and sooo underrated. It breaks me. During COVID I worked as a healthcare actuarial analyst and seeing the number of deaths and having to keep up with them was a lot. I always worried about the people actually seeing so many deaths a day. The imagery of continuosly watching people die and all you can do is hold their hand through plastic. The reality that it was not just numbers but people's families. Having to do that over and over again and only get 20 minutes to sit down and try to make sense of eveything. I don't know how they did it.

    Welcome Amanda!
    It's a great community.
It was a good choice to add the interview to your reaction request.
I have previously said that Taylor Swift is a talented vocalist.
I'm not a huge fan of pop music which is why I'm not into her music in general.
However, this song I can appreciate more.
The lyrics honor groups of people two of whom are veterans and Healthcare workers who are severely underrepresented and appreciated.
I was lucky in that I worked through the shutdown.
My company is the world's largest distributor of medical and dental supplies.
So for its entirety, we worked 10 to 12-hour days 6 to 7 days a week.
Which is nothing compared to what EMTs, Paramedics, and all other Healthcare personnel dealt with.

@firefighterchick There is a very good chance that you would like a lot of songs from her folklore and evermore albums. They are more folk/indy/singer-songwriter than pop. And clips from the Long Pond Sessions is a great way to experience folklore album songs.

Hi guys. Another great reaction to an absolute icon of the music industry. On a tangent, i would be remiss if I didn’t inform you of Amira’s latest release “ Down From His Glory “ in her last days as a teenager. ( just had her 20th birthday ).This showcases not only her magnificent voice, but brings to life a beautiful song performed by a mature young lady ( and her duet partner) with the world under her spell. I know you’ve got plenty on your plate, but don’t let this one slip through. You’ll love it.
    Cheers Graeme

I wish people would stop requesting this song. It's a song that needs to come with a trigger warning, and I'm not even being dramatic. It's a cruel suggestion for a blind reaction.

    • @gaylenwoof

This is a beautiful song but not one that I would expect as a request. I think it needs a trigger warning: Do NOT plan on doing this as a live reaction unless you are ok with sobbing on camera. 🥺

@IvyCowboy I agree! Particularly when you don’t know what history people might have with the loss of a child.
It’s a beautiful song that was written for a good cause, but Taylor has any number of great songs that don’t run the risk of hitting people way too hard.

@@JenniferDomitrovits-xu9df 💯% you never know what someone's been through. I agree it's a beautiful song and the story behind it is special. But using it to purposely make someone cry is insensitive and exploitative imo.
