I needed something that is more elegant. I'm a fan of the Prius and had my eyes on the V5 model and love the BMW I3 Ex.. But the BMW lacks distance, on any given day I could drive 200 miles. My C-Max is Black and looks even more enhanced with tinted windows. and gives me a more luxury feel interior, with its double stitched leather interior beautiful lighting inside the car, full vanity mirrors, A/C outlets to the rear seat with a 110 outlet. Each passenger has its own LED reading lights. I love the sound proofing Ford puts inside the C-Max and that Sony stereo system sounds beautiful. . I enjoy the higher riding stance for my older passengers, making it easier for them to get in& out of the car. The large windows help when viewing neighborhoods from inside the car. Love the gorgeous panoramic roof. I use it when showing homes or Condo's, of course on a over cast day or evening. Lastly this car books when you step on the peddle. The C-MAX has allot of lo-end torque when wanting pass a Semi; I managed 110 mph on Alligator Alley, over to Naples, FLA. (Don't Advise) I am averaging 39/40 now in the summer. I have managed 44 mpgs.
I bought a used 2013 CMax Hybrid SEL (No plug-In) in 2021. So far it is only getting 29 to 33 MPG overall. New plugs, New oil, New air filter, Good tires, Average miles. The gas engine kicks in a lot more than I thought it would below 40 MPH and I don't push it hard to go or stop. Last owner bought it new and was a little old lady. It seems to be in great condition and I like the car and how it drives except for the way it brakes it takes getting used to and the MS Sync / radio system had to be rebooted by pulling a fuse as it had stopped working. She even wrote a note about this problem in the owners manual. Any suggestions as to how I can get my MPG up ? I tried premium gas and fuel injector cleaner all ready with minimal results. All in all I am content with MPG as my 2012 4x4 Jeep only averages around 12 to 14 MPG.
Consumer Reports says that Ford has outright lied about the MPG numbers. They couldn't achieve anywhere near 47. Excellent work, Ford. Oh, and compared to the new Prii, this thing looks like a 1980s passenger truck.
Its weight and height (aero drag) may explain that, since one of Brian's earlier excellent videos told us that they calculate the MPG numbers on a machine that keeps the car stationary.
It might not get as good as fuel economy as a Prius, but it's like a luxury car in comparison. Really comes down to what you prefer. Luxury or tin can. Isn't much difference in fuel cost unless you live in a state with a very large population.
back in the fifties americans were always taught to love big cars. a car back in fifties america would be like an honour to drive, they would be so extravagant. in some asian countries the means of transport is a man running around within cities pulling a carriage behind his back. we have also have segways and public transportation. hybrid cars are bullshit.
Oh ok. I guess I'll start taking the nearest Vacuum instead of my usual route to work :) Does that really matter? Consumers are going to be driving it on a road with wind resistance. Unless you happen to be driving on the moon, where you don't have to worry about trivial things like wind resistance, the fact is the car has poor mileage. Come to think of it, even if you did drive on the moon, you'd have to carry a huge oxygen tank for the engine which would ruin your gas mileage either way...
Kind of behind the times aren't you? Big muscle engine cars that are loud and polluting only work in an era of cheap oil when nobody cares about the environment. In that era hybrid cars might seem like nonsense,, But that time is past!
IIHS and NTSB crash tests support that. I believe you are referring to the Tesla S, which is not a hybrid. It's all electric, and now has a titanium armor plate in the belly, just in case. Even before that, Tesla had 1 in 8000 cars that caught fire, versus the industry average of 1 in 1300. FYI, regular gas combustion engines are 8 times more likely to explode. Puncturing a gas tank is more dramatic.

Cooley does the best reviews, period.

But in 2019 probably needs battery replacement or is there a warranty on them? Alot of cheap Prius cars but ... battery is alot to replace
I have a 2014 cmax and my father has a 2013 Prius, my var looks way better than the Prius but the Prius's MPG is way better
I personally like the prius V design compared to the cmax and prius hatch. Prius looks like an egg, cmax like an overweight focus..

You have to drive correctly to get the better mpg's... Look up hyper-mile techniques
the intro ads on every cnettv videos are very annoying......

+Evan Dow NOTHING. In Erope the Ford company sells several models of car called "Max" and the sizes are indicated with B, C, or D

Front passenger door looks off-color to me; am I crazy? I guess it really doesn't matter the whole vehicle just looks "off."
I have a 1.6 tdci and I get more mpg than this computer on wheels without the fuss
Why no Aux plug , the blue tooth sounds like $hit
I can get up to 50 mpg in my 2013 with 200k on it
2500$ for a package on a car? My dad got a 87 nissan 300z for 100$ more with only 106 000 miles
lol:)

Dont you dare
:)
Why is he scratching his arms like either he forget the lotion or he needs a fix?
4:40 "hybrids tend to be safer." Yeah, until you puncture the batteries. then your car explodes.

+Joseph C BECAUSE normal cars don't carry anything explosive like a gasoline tank mere inches from hitting random stuff on the road
.
Do you live under a rock?
Get adblock.
adblock cuz
Toyota is better company than ford, and btw ford cmax looks ugly, can they just change the front end. I like ford focus' front end
